Well, if your looking at this ad... then you have an interest in this brief wonderment produced by Pontiac. There are ton's of interesting tid-bits about its creation, and untimely death out here on the internet…So I won't try and dazzle you with that kind of trivia. What I can tell you is what separates this car from other Pontiac Fiero GT's.

I purchased this car last summer from a gentlemen who's health was failing. The car had sat in storage since 2005, but before it was put away, it's previous life was fueled by the passion of this man to make this car "beat or keep up with any Mustang/Camaro on the street". What he did exactly to the car/motor isn't clear to me but by simply getting in it and strolling down the street you know this thing is ready to go. The story he told me (no I can't verify), is that he followed some magazine articles out of Pontiac Magazine and Hot Rod on how to give your Fiero more power. According to him, he had the motor bored out from the stock 2.8 to accept the innards of a 3.4. The results, a very powerful Saturday night HotRod and daily driver.

What I've done:

-Cleaned it up

-Brakes all the way around

-Flushed Clutch Fluid

-Made it ready to be driven daily

-Replaced Steering Column (it had a bad lower bearing in the tilt)

What it needs:

-If you want the AC to work, you will need an AC belt and assume a new compressor.

-It could use a good set of tires all the way around, because of age and dry rot.

-It really should have a stronger battery put in, the compression on the motor is almost too much for the stock battery.

-The headlights stopped flipping up, but I have the rebuild kit (just haven't had the time).

Also Included in Auction:

Rear Wing, and 5 Original wheels

GM recalling 778,000 Cobalts and G5s, six deaths reported

Thu, 13 Feb 2014

General Motors has announced that it will be recalling 778,562 compact cars after six people were killed in accidents, partially due to the airbags' failure to deploy. An issue with the ignition switch is causing the airbag issues, as well as causing the engine and other components to shut off without warning. The recall covers the 2005 to 2007 model year Chevrolet Cobalt and 2007 Pontiac G5. (Note that the Cobalt pictured above is a 2009 model.)
According to a report from Automotive News, a number of factors can cause the ignition to switch out of the run position, including weights on the key ring, rough or bumpy roads or other "jarring" events. Any of these situations could lead to some vehicle components not functioning properly.
There have been five fatal front-impact crashes that took the lives of six people, although as a GM spokesman noted, all five of the crashes happened off road and at high speed. In each of these cases, though, the lack of airbags wasn't the only lethal factor - alcohol and failure to wear a seat belt also played a role. Outside of the fatal accidents, there have been 17 other crashes where airbags didn't deploy. It's unclear if any of these crashes were caused by the engine shutting off.

GM repairing 40,500 Pontiac Vibes as part of Toyota airbag recall

Wed, 09 Apr 2014

General Motors has confirmed to Autoblog that the Pontiac Vibe is included in Toyota's just-announced recall action. The Vibe and the Toyota Matrix share a large number of parts, including the affected cable to the airbag.
"About 40,500 Pontiac Vibes from the 2009-2010 model years are included in the Toyota recall. Toyota designed and engineered the Vibe for Pontiac. GM will service customers with these vehicles when Toyota makes the parts available," said GM recall spokesperson Alan Adler to Autoblog in an email.
The recall covers 1.3 million Toyota units in the US, including 2009-2010 Corolla, Matrix and Tacoma, the 2008-2010 Highlander, the 2006-2008 Rav4 and 2006-2010 Yaris, plus the addition of the 2009-2010 Vibe. The models all have their airbag module attached via a spiral electrical cable. The connections on this cable can be damaged when turning the steering wheel. Once broken, the airbag deactivates and the airbag warning light comes on. Toyota has an improved part, but it's still making preparations to begin repairs. It will begin notifying owners soon.

Tony Stewart to star in Smoke Is The Bandit web series

Mon, 10 Mar 2014

NASCAR driver Tony Stewart is making good use of his nickname Smoke in new videos inspired by the 1970s classic Smokey and the Bandit. The original is one of the quintessential automotive movies of its era with a fantastic combination of slapstick comedy and great car stunts in a Pontiac Firebird Trans Am. If you've never seen it, check it out immediately.
In the new six-part Smoke IS the Bandit web series, Stewart takes on the role of Burt Reynolds' famous character complete with huge mustache. But instead of trying to smuggle cases of Coors beer it's Mobil 1 oil. The series promises to recreate many of the famous scenes from the movie and includes cameos from other NASCAR drivers.
To complete the look, future videos just need a quality replacement for a young Sally Field to ride shotgun. It would also be really cool if Reynolds could make a brief appearance at some point. Scroll down to check out the trailer and the first episode in the series.
