1987 Pontiac Fiero There
are no chips or cracks on the windows or lenses and all electrical front
lights, elevators and gauges are functioning well. Thank you and good luck!Already a
collectible, this vehicle has only 67,239 miles on it. I own some classic cars and I
have to let go a few of them due to relocation, however I am selling
this vehicle for a friend. In order to accurately rate and describe the vehicle, I drove it personally for a a full week on numerous occasions. The car was stored for a long period time so the fuel system needed to be cleaned
up in addition to the other fluids. This was done by an expert
mechanic along with spark plugs and air system maintenance. After using the car personally, I
suggested replacing the valve cover gasket and the top engine mount, which was done by the same mechanic. Considering the low milage of the
vehicle and the above mentioned improvements, I can confidently say that this is a
dependable vehicle. Runs smooth, shifts on time and does not overheat. The a/c blows cold as well. The dash has been covered therefore is in perfect condition with no cracks and the tires
are excellent. Recently passed California SMOG check with outstanding
results, which could be perfect evidence of engine performance. There are
no scratches or dings on the car and it appears that the car was
repainted due to age and of course there is absolutely no rust on
the car which spent all it's life in sunny California. Please
be informed that I tried to the best of my knowledge and ability to
describe the car accurately, so please pay close attention to the pictures and
description as well as ask any and all questions you may have before you engaging in bidding, however the condition of the sale according to my
classic car policy is on an as is basis. I could not remove the seat covers
which are an exact fit and custom made, but the door panels and
carpeting looks excellent with no stains or sign of abuse. |

1969 Pontiac GTO Judge vs. 2006 GTO, which Goat gets your vote?
Mon, 08 Sep 2014The Pontiac GTO was perhaps the most iconic muscle car of the '60s and early '70s. With its beefy V8 and color palette screaming for attention, it summarized in a single vehicle everything that made the era so appealing to many young people. Pontiac tried to collect just a few drops of that aura again in the 2000s with a revived GTO, but with decidedly mixed results. The performance was still there with its big V8, but the looks never quite lived up to the powertrain. Now, Generation Gap wants to know which of these Goats is the one to own.
Things are skewed immediately because the 2006 GTO here is a real ringer. It comes from famous tuner Ken Lingenfelter's collection, and it's a one-off example partially fettled by GM Performance boasting a twin-turbocharged LS2 V8 with a claimed 750 horsepower and a wide-body kit. This Goat definitely isn't what you're going to find just browsing for one to buy in the newspaper. Still, dip the throttle just a little, and this GTO pulls like a freight train. It's enough to turn the two hosts into giggling schoolboys behind the wheel.
The '69 GTO Judge here is also out of Lingenfelter's collection, but this one is all stock with a 400-cubic-inch (6.6-liter) V8 and a Ram Air hood for a claimed 366 hp. It might not have the unbelievable power of the turbo '06, but it makes up for it with style to spare.
Watch as Hot Rod goes from El Paso to LA the hard way
Tue, 21 Feb 2012There are few things simultaneously more romantic and idiotic than taking a road trip in a beaten-down heap of a car. Trust us. We know. David Freiburger and Mike Finnegan of Hot Rod Magazine fame recently undertook an epic trip from El Paso, Texas to Los Angeles with the express goal of doing so for under $1,500, including the purchase price of a vehicle, food, lodging, repairs and, most importantly, fuel. With this in mind, the duo settled on a 1972 Pontiac Catalina for a lofty $650. Hilarity ensues.
Realizing that no one actually wants a Catalina sulking around the shop, Freiburger and Finnegan put the car up for auction on eBay Motors the instant they had the title in hand. By the time they rolled into Hot Rod HQ, the vehicle sold for a little over $500.
The video is part of a new series called Roadkill that should document similar adventures. Keep your eyes peeled for more calamity-soaked clips in the near future. In the meantime, hit the jump to check it out yourself.
Watch this garbage truck consume a Pontiac Grand Am
Wed, 15 May 2013When an old car or truck offers its dying breath in your driveway and you just don't have the financial or mechanical wherewithal to resuscitate it yet again, you traditionally have to go to the trouble of calling a flatbed or a tow truck to come haul it away. That usually helps to put a few bucks in your wallet and helps recycle some of the vehicle's parts, but the transaction doesn't seem as final or perversely satisfying as the dispatch service that this New Way Cobra Magnum garbage truck offers.
Okay, okay, so this refuse hauler isn't actually designed for this sort of thing, but it's oddly comforting to know that a sanitation truck can compact a hapless Pontiac Grand Am into oblivion. Next time, we won't feel so guilty about slipping that rusty charcoal grille onto the curb next to the cans on garbage day. Watch the carnage by scrolling below.
