You are bidding on a 1978 Pontiac Catalina 2 door sport coupe with only 12,700 original miles. It is unrestored and in immaculate condition. It has cold factory air, automatic, cruise control, tilt wheel AM/FM Delco stereo cassette

This is the real deal. I bought it from the original owner about one year ago. I am selling it to make room because I have bought a new corvette.

The paint on this car original and in great condition. The interior, dash, door panel, steering wheel, trim and carpets are like new. There are a few minor rock chips on the hood and a couple of small scratches on the door.

The chrome and bright work on the exterior is in excellent condition. The trunk and engine compartments are clean and almost like the day they left the showroom. The car still smells like new and looks like new.

The original tags and stickers are still on the engine and underneath the car on the suspension. It recently won a first place trophy at the Midwest Pontiac Midwest Regional in Branson, Mo.

I recently took it on a hundred mile trip and it still drives like a new car. It is quiet with little wind noise and has brand new firestone tires. I have the original front tires in the garage and they are like new. I have the original bill of sale and sticker.

Please call John at 417-839-6922 cell or 417-881-7900 office if you would like more information. I can help arrange shipping if needed or fly in and drive it home.

GM recalling over 40,000 Chevy, Pontiac and Saturn models over fuel pump woes

Mon, 01 Oct 2012

The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has issued a recall for a number of General Motors cars and crossovers bought or currently registered in the hot-climate states of Arkansas, Arizona, California, Nevada, Oklahoma and Texas. As many as 40,859 units consisting of the 2007 Chevrolet Equinox, Pontiac Torrent and Saturn Ion and the 2007-2009 Chevrolet Cobalt (shown) and its Pontiac G5 twin are being recalled for potential fuel leaks.
This recall is being issued due to potentially faulty fuel pump components that can crack and cause gasoline to leak from the return or supply ports and possibly cause a fire. NHTSA has not indicated how many fuel leaks or vehicle fires have been reported. As a fix, GM will replace the fuel pump modules on all affected vehicles free of charge. Since Pontiac and Saturn have been shuttered, owners will be able to go to another GM-brand dealership to have their vehicles repaired.
While the list of affected cars and crossovers varies by state and model year, if you own any of these models and live in Arizona, California, Florida, Nevada, Oklahoma or Texas, be sure to check the official notice below for more details.

GM expands ignition switch recall to over 1.3 million cars amid climbing death toll

Tue, 25 Feb 2014

588,000 Saturn Sky, Saturn Ion, Pontiac Solstice and Chevy HHR models join the 778,000 cars already being recalled.
General Motors has announced a massive expansion of a 778,000-unit recall we told you about two weeks ago, doubling not only the total number of cars affected but expanding the recall beyond Chevrolet Cobalt and Pontiac G5 models previously mentioned. The recall originally centered around ignition switches that could slip out of the "run" position if jostled or if any weight was applied to the key in the cylinder.

Looking back at Oprah's free-car giveaway 10 years later

Fri, 12 Sep 2014

Oprah kicked off her 19th season in dramatic fashion by giving all 276 members of the studio audience a free car.
Molly Vielweber's Pontiac G6 appears unremarkable at first glance. It wears forest green paint, rolls on five-spoke aluminum wheels, and it has a sizeable scrape in the driver's side door, the scar of a decade's worth of hard use. You wouldn't notice it parked at a big box store or cruising on the highway. Pontiac made hundreds of thousands of G6s in the 2000s, and a lot are still on the road. It's unremarkable in every way except for the front license plate, which reads, "Oprah 6."
