Mount Dora, Florida, United States

One of only 669 built for sale in the US made in Prowler Orange Pearl Coat color. One of the most stunning of all the colors produced. This car is an absolute stunning eye catcher and I always get people talking to me when I fuel up. Also people take pictures contently of it while I'm driving and parked. I even had someone make a U-turn and follow me into a parking lot to see it, take pictures and talk with me about it. This car stirs more attention than a Corvette.

I bought the car from a dealer which got it from an estate sale auction from the original owner back in November 2012 with 7,600 miles on it. I currently have three cars (SUV, Dodge Challenger and this Prowler) which is one too many. I have changed careers and need the money from this sale to finance a house.

3.5 Liter 253 hp V-6 aluminum block engine.

Gas mileage averages 20 miles per gallon around town.

17” Front, 20” Rear Chrome Rims. No flaking on the backside of these rims (flaking is a common issue with Prowler rims)

2 owner car.

Low Curb weight of 2,838 lbs due to all aluminum and composite construction.

Amazing acceleration @ 0-62 mph in 5.9 seconds.

4 Speed automatic Trans-Axle with "Auto Stick" (which allows for manual control of the gears).

Has power windows, power door locks, tilt and leather wrapped steering wheel with radio controls, cruise control, Amplified 7 speaker AM/FM Stereo w/equalizer with cassette, CD and IPOD player, manual 6-way driver's seat height adjuster, Koni Shocks, Auto dim rear view mirror with computer readouts for temp, fuels mileage, etc., 4 wheel disc brakes, projector headlamps, heated rear window defroster and keyless remote FOB's.

Body is completely stock, never molested or modified. Has all original bumpers, many owners had removed them. IPOD Interface was added and can be controlled by steering wheel radio controls. Was strictly a plug and play at the 6 disc CD changer and can be removed in minutes without cutting or splicing.

Production Date is January 2001, which is the last month for Plymouth branded Prowlers. After that they became Chrysler Prowlers. This car was one of the last Plymouths built and the driver’s rear bumper does not have the “Plymouth” designation as Chrysler had used up the supply of Plymouth designated bumpers. The Chrysler branded Prowlers had no “Chrysler” designation on the driver’s side rear bumper, they were just solid (blank).

I am a previous owner of a 2002 Deep Candy Red Prowler that I bought brand new but then sold after 5 years back in 2007. I sold it on Ebay and it was a smooth transaction. The buyer was out of, so I had to wait for the cashiers check to clear his bank before releasing the car. This is because there are counterfeit cashiers checks that people use to scam sellers. Took about 7 or 8 business days to clear but the buyer was extremely happy with my communication with him during that time frame. I also worked with the specialty transport company to get the car safely delivered to him out of state. He gave me stellar Ebay Feedback which is still posted in my account. I mention this to give the buyer of this car confidence that this will be a another professionally treated transaction.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.
