Ignition key will sometimes stick and cause overheat lamp to light"

This car has always been reliable and still is----. good on gas with plenty of power from the DOHC for highway merging and cruising.   The interior and carpet or not perfect but look nice and have no rips or worn through areas. The car shifts and rides nice and everything else works except the electric sun roof,  the electric lock  on the drivers stopped working and now it is nessary to use the key to lock  the door ( the key doesn't have remote buttons anyway).  all the rest of the locks work. The engine has no leaks but the plastic tray that holds the battery and fuse box steady is cracked, it's been like that for a long time and doesn't seem to be a problem. The engine is noisy when first started but quiets down when it warms up.  I went online to see what might  be causing the noise and found that it  is pretty much common in these cars and advised not to worry about it, it's bin this way for most of the time I have owned the car with no ill effects. The head gasket was replaced 6 years ago with OEM chrysler replacement parts no problems with this since. One problem that I have been  unable to solve is that some times when your driving, the overheat warning light comes on  and beeps however the car is not overheating. I have found  that by turning  the key off and then back on, the guage goes down and stays that way for as long as you are running. I do this even when the car is driving down the road  without stopping . May be it's a problem in the switch or the sending unit I quess.  I am the second owner of the car and have had it for the past 10 years or so I am  not sure of the  time  I bought it.  I mentioned all the problems with the car that I am aware of, and selling AS IS  with no guarentee of any kind implied.  Payment must be within 48 hours or the car will be relisted  no shipping

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
