THEE, TOP OF THE LINE VALIANT SOLD IN '65 -A RARE RIDE INDEED(When's the last time YOU saw one?!?)!!!                        IT HAS A JET GLOSS BLACK EXTERIOR -DON'T KNOW WHEN IT WAS PAINTED, THAT HAS A VERY GOOD SHINE TO IT-  BUT NOT PERFECT....ONLY 1 SMALL REPAINTED SPOT UNDER THE GAS CAP(see pix) AND 1 LIL FISHEYE ON TRUNK LID.(1/4 in)         THE INTERIOR IS ORIGINAL MOPAR HARVEST GOLD AND IN GOOD TO GREAT CONDITION.  IT STARTS RUNS & DRIVES LIKE A TURN KEY CAR SHOULD! THE AUTOMATIC TRANNY WAS SERVICED IN THE FALL WITH A NEW PAN, FILTERS, GASKETS O-RINGS & CLEAN FLUID.  WHEN I GOT IT SHE HAD THE WRONG RIMS ON SO, AT A COST OF $500.OO I FOUND THE CORRECT ONES, HAD THEM PAINTED, BALANCED & MOUNTED. THE RIGHT WHEEL COVER/SPINNERS ARE ON TOO!  THE RADIALS HAVE AT LEAST 75% OF ROAD LIFE LEFT AND HAVE NO CRACKS OR DRYROT.     THE POWER OPERATED TOP GOES UP AND DOWN SMOOTHLY AND LOCKS TIGHT! THE CANVAS ROOF IS MAYBE 2 OR 3 YEARS OLD AT THE MOST AND IS FLAWLESS AND CLEAN!                                                                      THE SLANT 6 IS A POWERFUL YET QUIET ENGINE AND PROBABLY ONE OF THE BEST ENGINES EVER MADE!  ALL THE LITTLE THINGS WORK WELL TOO! A NOTE OF CLARIFICATION: A bidder asked me why the photos all say "2008" as a time/date stamp. That date is when I got the camara and never corrected the date. ALL PHOTOS WERE TAKEN THE 1ST WEEK OF MAY, 2014.   ALSO, I REPLACED ALL OF THE WIRES, PLUGS, ROTOR, CAP PLUS EVERY FLUID POSSIBBLE WHEN I 1ST GOT IT A YEAR AND A COUPLE OF MONTHS AGO.  I HAD THE OIL, FILTERS(oil, gas & air) REPLACED IN THE FALL BEFORE I FILLED IT WITH PREM GAS, LEAD SUBSTITUTE AND LOTS OF STABIL. DROVE IT A SHORT TIME AND PUT HER TO SLEEP UNTIL A COUPLE OF WEEKS AGO. JUST FYI.  :-D

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.
