Selling an original 1965 Plymouth Sport Fury convertible factory Indy 500 Pace Car equipped with optional 383 4 barrel HP engine, dual exhaust, AT, PS, and PB. This car came factory white with blue conv. top and dark blue interior as all 65 Pace Cars were ordered that way. I found it in warm sunny dry Eastern Oregon and it is one of the most rust free cars you will ever find. It was parked in 1992 so I decided to restore the entire car. It has new paint, complete Legendary Auto interior, correct light blue conv. top (Pace Car only), re-chromed bumpers, new Goodyear Super Cushion 7.75-14 tires, and completely rebuilt drive-train. Original engine is fresh .030 over 9 to 1 compression all stock with correct afb carb, dual point dist. and air cleaner. Original radiator tested and rebuilt by best shop around, AAA Radiator in Redmond, WA.  All gauges, lights, heater, turn signals work as they should and original Indianapolis 500 Pace Car dash plaque is intact. Top goes up and down perfect as new top cylinders were installed. Underside of car including frame rails, rockers, floor pan, lower quarters, and torsion bar anchors are very nice. There is no salt damage to this car anywhere. All chrome, side trim, and bright work shine nicely. Very nice driving and handling car even with the bias ply tires. Car has 11 inch brakes, front sway bar and 3.23 rear end. I found the original build sheet under the seat for the car and I have the fender skirts. Clear Oregon title.   Any questions 619 929 8806.   $500.00 non refundable deposit due within 24 hours end of auction. Car sold as is.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

Barrett-Jackson 2014: 1970 Plymouth Hemi Superbird passes half a million dollars

Sat, 18 Jan 2014

The Plymouth Superbird is one of those classic American cars from the muscle car era that has captured the imagination of all sorts of automotive enthusiasts long after its presence on roads and race tracks wore away. It's easy to see why. Where else but in the Swingin' Sixties and Seventies would a car leave the factory with an aerodynamics package that included a pointy beak and a rear spoiler that sat several feet above the rear deck?
The example you see above, which was born in 1970, is one of the finest Superbirds we've ever seen. Combine its complete restoration with its original 426 Hemi engine, and it's no surprise that it managed to bring in a cool half million dollars (plus 10 percent in fees) at Barrett-Jackson. See it yourself in our high-res image gallery above, and scroll down below for the official auction description.

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.
