Up for bidding is a beautiful 1970 Plymouth Cuda. Mechanically this is a perfectly running and driveable car, street legal and with the 440 motor is as fast as you need to go. Fresh 327 Automatic transmission. Has just had new front disc brakes installed, and new Nitto Extreme ZR tires which have 95%+ tread. Runs like a top, and cranks as soon as you hit the ignition. A dependable and finely running ride.

Color is Plum Crazy Purple, with black interior.

This car looks and drives great as is, but it does have a few minor things you would need to address to make it into a top grade show car. Here are the few known issues:

1. The speedometer and gas gauge are not working. The odometer is also not working, so the mileage is incorrect. Also, this car has factory equipped Air Conditioning, but it is currently not working.

2. The paint has a few minor nicks that you would expect from a car that gets driven. It is not a trailer queen. Underneath the front grille there is a small dent where someone pulled too far up to a curb. There are a few small areas of the paint that has some bubbling. Closeup photos of these are shown. A local body shop quoted fixing these at $1000-$1500, so they are pretty easily fixed.

3. The interior is mostly original, but the front seats have been replaced. See photos to better assess condition of the interior. You can see both front and back seats have some small areas that are split/worn, but they are still sturdy, solid, and 100% functional. Dash has some cracks, but still sturdy and intact. A replacement dash is included with the car, but it just hasn't been installed yet.

I am selling this car for my father, who has put a lot of time and money into it. He is nearing retirement and has reluctantly decided to part with it to pay off some bills. His loss is your gain! He is available in the evenings after 5:00 to show the car. Just message me and I will set up a time for him to meet you for an inspection and test drive.

A $1000 NON-REFUNDABLE Paypal deposit is required within 24 hours of auction's end, or it will be relisted. Remaining cash payment is due within 5 days. This vehicle is sold as-is, with no warranty, so please ask questions before bidding. Also feel free to come look at it, or if you are too far away for that you may have a local mechanic examine it. Just message me to set this up.

Believe it or not, We are starting this car at $0.99 so everybody will have a chance to bid! You mopar folks know what its worth so bid accordingly. Thanks for looking and good luck!!

SRT belatedly claims Plymouth Prowler as one of its own

Wed, 19 Dec 2012

Before Chrysler had Street and Racing Technology, it had Performance Vehicle Operations. What the two entities have in common, before SRT became its own brand, of course, is that each was created to take Chrysler and Dodge (and Plymouth, before it was unceremoniously killed off) vehicles to the next level of style and performance.
We'll leave the question of whether or not the old Plymouth (and later Chrysler) Prowler was ultimately a stylish, performance-oriented car to you, but the boys and girls currently leading the SRT charge at the Pentastar headquarters are keen to accept the retro-rod into the fold.
According to the automaker, all of SRT's current high-performance models owe a debt of gratitude to the old Prowler, due mostly to that car's use of lightweight bits and pieces and innovative construction techniques. If nothing else, the fact that the Prowler's frame is "the largest machined automotive part in history" is pretty cool. Read all the details here.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.
