Hi and thanks for looking. This is a 1970 Barracuda that started life with a 318 and an auto with console. The person I bought it from has had it sitting in the back of his race shop since 1979. He had 3 1970 cudas sitting under blankets and I bought 2 of them and he kept one. He was going to race them and just before he got going on them he decided to race chevies and went with a 67 nova and a 66 chevelle so these 3 plymouths have been sitting inside for 35+ years. This car has got great floors and trunk and the only spot of rust is just the outside of the lower rear fenders and they will be a real easy fix. The front fenders are original but will need work especially the drivers side front bottom dented and tapped out.The car was FK5 Burnt orange metalic with a black vinyl top and black interior. The vinyl top and carpet were taken out in 1979 so the roof looks perfect. I am selling this car almost complete but you will need to restore it. The car comes with a 1970 440 with HP exhaust manifolds that will need to be rebuilt as it has been sitting for 35 years and a 727 out of a 1970 Cuda 383 and it is rebuilt. The rear end is an 8 3/4" with air shocks. The steering column is out of another car so you will have to change to a floor shift. The interior comes with the front bucket seats out of a 71 and the rear seat, door panels and rear panels, kick panels sun visors and the console out of a 71. It comes with the original windows and stainless trim. The front side windows were taken out but the guides and that are still in there and I have the windows and they go with it. Also comes with a set of 70 seat backs to make these correct for 70. Also you get the non rally dash complete with switches trim pieces and factory clock and the switch for the rear defroster which the car came with. It also comes with the factory AM radio. The car also came with power steering and I think power brakes. The heater is also there and real nice with the defrost vent. Has the wipers and the wiper motor that will need rebuilt. The rally wheels are 14 inch and the 2 tires with raised white letters are about 30 years old but hold air fine and do the other 2. The trunk lid has a hole that will need to be fixed where they had a hood pin. The hood is a rally one off from a 72. It will come with a 26 inch radiator and shroud from a 1970 big block. Also has the gas tank and filler tube. This would also make a great rebody for that rusted out 440-6 pack or Hemi as it is a Hamtramck car with no AC. I don't have the fender tag or the dash pad tag. Other parts I have for the car if someone is interested is an original disk brake setup and a K member with the sway bar and an original grille. These are not in the auction but buyer has first chose if they want to buy separate.I am sure I forgot something so let me know if you have any questions.

US Marshal's classic muscle car auction officially in the books

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

The US Marshal's so-called Blood Muscle Auction was completed earlier this month, with the prestigious nine-car field (two cars were added following Autoblog's initial story, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS 454 and a rare, mid-restoration 1971 Plymouth Hemi 'Cuda) finding new and hopefully law-abiding owners.
While we'd normally recap the stars of the show, in this particular auction, every car's sale was newsworthy. The full list of sale prices doesn't seem to be published, but according to The New York Times, the auction brought in a total of $2.5 million, or an average of about $277,000 per car.
The king of the contest seems to be a 1970 Plymouth Superbird (above, right), complete with a 426-cubic-inch Hemi V8, which brought home $575,000. The trio of Yenko Chevys, meanwhile, all easily cleared the six-figure mark, with the Yenko Camaro (above, far right) clearing $315,000, the Chevelle crossing the block for $237,500 and the supremely rare - one of just 37 - Yenko Nova (shown above, left) selling for an even $400,000.

'Blood Muscle' auction to sell impressive collection of ill-begotten classic cars

Wed, 30 Jul 2014

The old saying goes that if you can't do the time, don't do the crime. But being a criminal can involve more than just taking a trip to the big house; it can also mean losing possessions purchased from any ill-gotten gains. Still, one man's loss is another's gain, and if you're in Lodi, NJ, on September 12, you stand the chance to buy some of the ultimate muscle cars from the US Marshals in what is being gruesomely nicknamed the Blood Muscle auction.
The grisly moniker was earned because all of the vehicles belonged to the president of a blood testing company who is facing prison time for alleged bribery, according to Hemmings. After all, they are muscle cars bought with actual blood money. The seven-vehicle collection includes some of the ultimate muscle cars ever made, and the original buyer clearly had an eye for rarity.
This cornucopia of V8 power includes a teal 1970 Ford Mustang Boss 429, a 1967 Shelby GT500 Mustang, an orange 1970 Plymouth Superbird, a 1970 Chevrolet Chevelle SS convertible and perhaps most prized of all - a trio of 1969 Yenko Chevys with a Chevelle, Nova and Camaro all represented. From the included photos, all of them look to be in fantastic condition.

'71 Plymouth Hemi Cuda Convertible sells for $3.5M [w/video]

Mon, 16 Jun 2014

We're plenty used to seeing classic cars selling for millions of dollars. It's just that they're usually European: Ferraris, Bugattis, Mercedes and the like. There are some rare American exceptions, usually wearing the names Duesenberg or Shelby. But what we have here is the most expensive Chrysler product ever sold at auction.
The vehicle in question is a Plymouth Barracuda - specifically a 1971 Hemi Cuda Convertible, chassis #BS27R1B315367 - that Mecum Auctions just sold after eight solid minutes of feverish bidding for a high bid of $3.5 million at its auction in Seattle, Washington. That figure positively eclipses the $2.2 million paid for a strikingly similar Hemi Cuda (chassis #BS27R1B269588) fetched nearly seven years ago in Scottsdale and another that was the first muscle car to break the million-dollar mark in 2002.
