Selling this olds that has been a big part of my life. Not an easy deal for me.

My dad bought this car from original owner in north Fort Worth Texas in 1990.
Long story short ended up as a graduation gift to me and the day I owned it started the
Resto of car. It was lime green inside and out from factory. Rust free car that sat for 13 years
In a poleshed.

To this day it has been a 15 year project of restore and ad on's. the car was originally a 350 rocket
Converted to a 1971 455 bb from another cutlass sx. Motor was completely rebuilt with a turned and balanced crank
.30 bore and forged 10.5:1 pistons. makes it a cubic inch 462, Mild crane cam and torker 2 aluminum intake. 750 Holley mech 4 barrel carb. Motor pushes 409
Hp at the crank. Stock e heads i do have a set of c heads that go with car. This motor was rebuilt in 2005 and now roughly has 20xxx miles on it.
The trans was built to hold 500 hp has a little tweaking to valve body and shift kit. I have a stock torque converter. I also have a 2800
Holes got b&m stall converter that will go with car. Car has twin electric fans, with a 3 core aluminum radiator. Fans are on toggle system.
It has a posi pac and 3:73 gears and a balanced drive shaft newer u joints.Hooker 2 3/4 headers not stainless, full stainless 2 3/4 exhaust magnaflow brand,
is fully clamped and could be welded or left alone no leaks, sounds awesome.

exterior is in great shape all the way around, never seen a winter. Paint job was done in 2006 by a very picky set of eyes. Car was sanded down to metal (by hand)
3 coats of clear and has been color sanded and buffed many times to receive a nice glass look all the way down the panels, No orange peal. does have minor blemishes and chips.
Also from factory it had a vinyl top so the bonding work from quarters to roof wasnt as efficient as none vinyl package.. If your familiar with olds torque it tends to be to much for body twisting,
just minimal cracking but not sure if you could ever get rid of it. Has a fiberglass 442 non functional ram air hood. Very little to none filler in panels. very very solid body and underbody. all original panels on car.Has newer control arm bushings in rear and good shocks and springs. Drives smooth down road no vibration or pulling. Could use an alignment, has a little play in steering wheel.

interior is in fair shape, seats are good no major tares but ware and a small tare in drivers seat. Carpet is ok could be replaced or left alone, door panels in good shape, headliner a little saggy not terrible. dash was painted from factory green to black could use touch up. all around a turn key car or depending on your goals this would be a great candidate for a real nice show car. Most of the hard work is done. I drive it the way it is because of character and im not a trailer queen kinda guy. Anyway this car also had power front brakes swapped to disc and the wheels are 18" chrome budnik in good shape. Tires about half tread. If you have any other questions please email me. I know im forgetting things. Happy bidding

eBay Find of the Day: 1976 GMC Motorhome is a jolly green giant

Wed, 18 Jun 2014

If you have a need to relive the 1970s, then here is the vehicle for you. This groovy blast from the past is a 1976 GMC Motorhome currently for auction in Florida on eBay Motors, and it is one green machine - just not in the modern sense.
The seller claims that this beast has had just two owners and has covered a mere 61,308 miles in its decades on the road. It's reportedly never been restored or repainted and comes with all of the necessary books and manuals. A 7.5-liter (455-cubic-inch) Oldsmobile V8 with a three-speed Turbo-Hydramatic automatic transmission powering the front wheels propels this far-out RV, and the double set of rear wheels out back use a self-leveling air suspension to provide a cushy ride.
The purported low miles and good condition really make this GMC a stand out, though. The exterior combination of lime stripes and beige with just a touch of green is like nothing else on the road today. Plus, the polished bumpers and wheels make it all pop. Inside, it's even better with monochromatic green upholstery and shag carpet. It features everything you'd ever need on a long trip, including a bathroom, kitchenette and lots of seating. The only hint of modernization is an HD TV next to the stove, but its size is a perfect fit for the hole there.

Ferrari FF pitted against Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser in crazy Generation Gap comparison

Thu, 13 Nov 2014

The folks behind Generation Gap have lost their minds with this latest video. The goal here is to determine the ultimate family cruiser, but the choices are what you would least expect, with a heavily modded 1970 Oldsmobile Vista Cruiser going up against a 2012 Ferrari FF.
You might anticipate an over-40-year-old Oldsmobile to pale in comparison to any modern Ferrari, but this wagon has a ton of secrets under its skin thanks to Lingenfelter. First, it packs a supercharged LS3 V8 with a claimed 650 horsepower and a six-speed manual gearbox. That big upgrade in power is further helped with air suspension and massive Wilwood disc brakes. The result is nothing short of deafening, with blaring yelps whenever the driver even nudges the accelerator.
The alternative sounds just as good, albeit in very different way. The Ferrari's 6.3-liter V12 pumps out 651 hp and 504 pound-feet with a part-time all-wheel drive system. While the FF lacks a lot of the hauling ability of the Olds, it makes up for the deficit in handling, luxury, and in many eyes, simply by having the famous prancing horse on the grille.

This Or That: 1980 Oldsmobile 442 vs. 1989 BMW 635CSi [w/poll]

Thu, 09 Oct 2014

The last time I roped a coworker into an automotive debate, I lost. Resoundingly, I might add. Still, 2,385 voters chose to cast their lots for the Fiat 500 Abarth, as opposed to 5,273 choosing the Ford Fiesta ST, and so I can rest easy in the knowledge that at least 30 percent of you, dear readers, see things my way. I still like to think we have more fun, too.
My loss in the first round of our This or That series, in which two Autoblog editors pick sides on any given topic and then attempt to explain why the other is completely wrong, didn't stop me from picking another good-natured fight, this time with Senior Editor Seyth Miersma. Last time, our chosen sides were eerily similar in design, albeit quite different in actual execution. This time, our vehicular peculiarities couldn't seemingly fall any further from one another: A 1980 Oldsmobile 442 wouldn't seem to match up in comparison to a 1989 BMW 635CSi.
How did we come up with such disparate contenders? Simple, really. Seyth and I mutually agreed to choose a car that's currently for sale online. It had to be built and sold in the 1980s, and it had to be a coupe. The price cap was set at $10,000. The fruits of our searching labors will henceforth be disputed, with Seyth on the side of the Germans, and myself arguing in favor of the Rocket Olds. Am I setting myself up for another lopsided loss?
