1991 Nissan Sentra Se-r (b13) on 2040-cars

I have a very good condition 91 (B13) Sentra SE-R up for sale. The car
has about 116,000 miles on it and has some great and very hard to find
upgrades. The interior is in excellent to mint condition. The majority of these
generation sentras have rust and/or rot. This car is way above average
in that regard and is basically rust free. The car is looks stock inside and out aside from the next generation SE-R wheels. The intake and
exhaust are very mild sounding. The handling is really what sets this car apart though. The car would make a great autocross or road course car. The car is already dialed in with great parts, cheap
to run, easy to find parts, cheap to insure, and is easy on gas. These cars are a riot to drive and were compared to BMW 2002s when introduced.
In the last week, these were replaced: oil, spark plugs, fuel filter, and high pressure power steering line. Upgrades to the car: 3" air intake, header, Borla stainless catback exhaust, Fidanza aluminum flywheel, Active Tuning front strut bar and lower control arm brace, b15 sentra alternator, front and rear Progress sway bars, Energy poly suspension and motor mounts, raxles, stainless brake lines, shigspeed/koni coilovers-330F/300R, Ground Control adjustable camber plates, Unorthodox pulleys, GTI-R radiator, NX2000 front brakes, (U13) Altima brake master cylinder, nice CD player with tweeter in the front doors, B14 Sentra 15" wheels with close to new 205/50/15 tires, comes with extra GTI-R steering wheel that needs work. Cons: the car has plenty of parking dings, the radio is not powering up for some reason and antenna needs to be installed, front passenger fender does not have the gray bottom, AC is all there but needs a charge, and drive belt has started squeaking at start up since temps have dropped. The shigspeed coilovers are long discontinued and cost $2500 when new. You would be hard pressed to find a sharper handling setup. Modified Magazine did a article comparing the Sport Compact Car project B13 SE-R to newer SE-R's. The SCC project car has more or less the same suspension set up as my car even down to the spring rates. Here is a quote from the article, "That said, Project SE-R's 0.96g is damn impressive. Around the bumpy pad there's no balance, no hint of the oversteer or even comforting neutrality I tried to tune into the car, just loads of grip from the Nitto NT-01s with a bit of understeer at the end. By comparison, the B15s feel completely limp." Here is a quote about the coilovers: "They are Koni 8611's in custom housings using GC collars. His rear mounts for B13's do kick serious ass. Really nicely machined rear pillowball mounts that eliminate all play. I didn't have too many questions, since I got to drive a car with them and go for a track ride. Sold me on the spot! The SHigSpeed Suspension consists of shortened externally adjustable Koni Sport Struts (Yellows) front and rear with adjustable rebound and dampening. The rebound can be doubled and the compression can be tripled to go from street cruiser to crack your dental work track ready status. The strut shaft on these Koni's is a stout 22mm vs 18 and 20 mm on our previous setup. For springs Eibach ERS are used with spring rates at 380 front and 300 rear. Most aggressive street SE-Rs run 300 front and 200 rear but we're willing to compromise a little comfort to ensure our suspension is more at home on the track." |

Apple iTunes Radio picks Nissan as first automotive launch partner
Tue, 24 Sep 2013With the launch of iOS 7 last week, those who carry around a certain fruit-branded cellphone got access to a new technology called iTunes Radio. Apple's delayed entry into a market currently dominated by service such as Spotify and Pandora, iTunes Radio allows users to create their own stations or to choose from a number of featured stations. From there, listeners can fine tune their results to deliver more popular songs or newer, deeper tracks. Each song is linked back to the iTunes store, allowing users to easily buy songs they fall in love with.
Now, Nissan has teamed with Apple as the exclusive launch partner for iTunes Radio. This partnership means you'll be seeing some Nissan-specific content when you're surfing through iTunes Radio, with some subtler stuff in the form of material and some not-so-subtle approaches, like Nissan's use of iAd, a system that allows developers to directly insert advertisements into apps. The focus at first will be on the upcoming Rogue, the redesigned Versa Note and the Leaf EV.
Nissan's vice president of marketing in North America, Jon Brancheau, explained the team up, saying, "We see iTunes Radio as an integral part of our new vehicle launches and 'big moments,' riding the wave of interest and usage of this exciting new service to maximize exposure of Nissan's new models." Take a look below for the rundown from Nissan.
Nissan ex-Chairman Carlos Ghosn wins release from jail
Tue, Mar 5 2019TOKYO — The Tokyo District Court approved the release of former Nissan Chairman Carlos Ghosn on bail of 1 billion yen ($8.9 million) on Tuesday, although the end of his four months of detention in Japan was delayed when prosecutors appealed that decision. Prosecutors filed their objection to Ghosn's release within hours of the announcement he was going to be granted bail. But their appeal was rejected by the court, paving the way for his release. A lawyer for Ghosn said he would not be able to leave the Tokyo Detention Center until Wednesday at the earliest, because bail procedures can't be done at night. The acceptance of Ghosn's request for bail, his third, came a day after the lawyer, Junichiro Hironaka, said he was confident the auto executive would gain his release. Hironaka, who recently joined Ghosn's defense team, is famous for winning acquittals in Japan, a nation where the conviction rate is 99 percent. Hironaka said Monday that he had offered new ways to monitor Ghosn after his release, such as camera surveillance. Hironaka also questioned the grounds for Ghosn's arrest, calling the case "very peculiar," and suggesting it could have been dealt with as an internal company matter. He welcomed the decision, telling reporters: "It was good we proposed concrete ways showing how he would not tamper with evidence or try to flee." The 1 billion yen bail set by the court was relatively high but not the highest ever in Japan. Among the conditions for Ghosn's release were restrictions on where he can live, a ban on foreign travel and other promises not to tamper with evidence or try to flee, the court said. The former head of the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi Motors alliance has been detained since he was arrested on Nov. 19. He says he is innocent of charges of falsifying financial information and of breach of trust. In Japan, suspects are routinely detained for months, often until their trials start. That's especially true of those who insist on their innocence. Prosecutors say suspects may tamper with evidence and shouldn't be released. Two previous requests submitted by his legal team were denied. His previous defense lawyer, Motonari Ohtsuru, had said Ghosn's release might not come for months. Hironaka is among many critics of the Japanese justice system who say such lengthy detentions of suspects are unfair.
UK electric motor maker YASA expands production 50-fold for EVs
Thu, Feb 1 2018LONDON — British electric motor manufacturer YASA said on Thursday it was increasing its production capacity from 2,000 to 100,000 units with a new factory to tap into growing demand from carmakers for greener technologies. Automakers are racing to build greener vehicles and improve charge times in a bid to meet rising customer demand and air quality targets but Britain lacks sufficient manufacturing capacity, an area the government is building up. Last year, the government picked a site in central England to house a new automotive battery development facility, which will develop the processes required to manufacture the latest battery advancements. On Thursday, YASA, based near the English city of Oxford, said it had raised another 15 million pounds ($21 million) as part of its expansion. "Our customers are looking to adopt innovative new technologies such as YASA's axial-flux electric motors and controllers in order to meet the needs of the rapidly expanding hybrid and pure electric automotive market," said Chief Executive Chris Harris. The firm exports 80 percent of production and has worked with companies including Britain's two biggest carmakers Jaguar Land Rover and Nissan as well as Aston Martin. JLR will decide this year whether to build electric cars in its home market, previously citing factors such as pilot testing and support from science and government as pre-requisites.
