Nissan GT-R LM Nismo claws its way into Jay Leno's Garage
Mon, Jun 1 2015Nissan has taken a radical approach to its Le Mans entry, giving the GT-R LM Nismo an unusual front-engine, front-drive layout to challenge the mid-engine prototypes put forth by the likes of Audi, Porsche and Toyota. It's so unusual that Jay Leno just had to have it in his garage to get a good look at it – and fortunately he had the cameras rolling when he did. Nissan's LMP1 design will attempt to take advantage of the regulations that are more restrictive on the rear aerodynamics than they are on the front. So the Japanese automaker moved everything up front, including the engine, the driven wheels, and the bulk of the downforce. Whether it will pay off remains to be seen, but we'll be watching closely to see how it fares against the mainstream competition. The Carlos and Dieter Show promises more collaboration
Fri, 03 Oct 2014Daimler and Renault-Nissan said Friday the automakers have expanded their four-year-old alliance to include putting a Renault diesel in the Mercedes C-Class, a Mercedes gasoline engine in an Infiniti and possibly will involve automated driving technologies in the near future. At a joint Paris Motor Show press conference dubbed 'The Carlos and Dieter Show' by European media, Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn and Daimler CEO Dieter Zetsche said the alliance between the automakers is running strong and will expand into any area that makes financial sense for both companies.

Daimler and Renault-Nissan began their partnership in 2010 with plans to collaborate on three projects. They've since expanded that and are working on 12 projects together, including building a joint plant in Aguascalientes, Mexico. Renault-Nissan and Daimler are launching their first vehicles developed together from scratch: the Renault Twingo (which went on sale in September) and the new Smart Fortwo and Smart Forfour, which go on sale in November.
Nissan Juke Nismo RS reveal confirmed by LA Auto Show
Thu, 10 Oct 2013With the LA Auto Show a little more than a month away, we're getting a good idea of which cars we'll be seeing there. Show organizers have issued a press release that names numerous debuts we've heard about already, and one that caught our eye as brand new: the Nissan Juke Nismo RS.
We first heard about the Juke Nismo RS last year, and reported news of track-focused handling upgrades as well as a boost in power to the tune of 270 horsepower - an increase of 73 hp over a standard Juke. There is still no definitive word as to what else the will come with the Nismo RS package.
In addition to the Juke, we hear that the Nismo brand will also help unveil a new concept vehicle for Nissan on the LA stage.
