THIS WAS RUNNING GREAT AND THEN IT STARTED RUNNING LIKE IT HAD WATER IN THE GAS. IT SMELLS LIKE IT IS RUNNING REALLY RICH. THEN IT WOULD DIE. I REPLACED THE COIL AND FUEL FILTER AND THEN TOOK IT IN. $1,000 LATER IT STILL DID THE SAME THING AND HE SAID I NEEDED TO TAKE IT TO SOMEONE WHO COULD PUT IT ON A BETTER MACHINE. I NEVER DID AND IT HAS BEEN SITTING FOR A FEW YEARS NOW. SINCE 07 I THINK. I HAD THE BELTS REPLACED IN 06. IT HAS LOTS OF ANNOYING ISSUES. THE ELECTRIC WINDOWS ARE OFF TRACK AND WILL NOT ROLL UP. THE LOCK DOES NOT WORK. IF IT GETS LOCKED, THE ONLY WAY YOU CAN GET IN IS WITH THE KEY THROUGH THE BACK. THERE ARE SOME SMALL DENTS AND DINGS. THE DRIVERS SEAT IS IN REALLY BAD CONDITION. THE LEATHER IS TORN AND PART OF THE INSIDE IS MISSING. AT SOME POINT IN TIME, THE PREVIOUS OWNER HAD THE ORIGINAL ENGINE REPLACED WITH A REBUILT ENGINE. I THINK THAT WAS SOMEWHERE AROUND 2000. SO I EXPECT THE MILEAGE THAT SHOWS INCLUDES THE MILEAGE ON THE OLD ENGINE ALSO. IT GETS ABOUT 16 MPG. IT WILL NOT SMOG NOW. THE PLASTIC GISMOS OUTSIDE IN FRONT OF THE WIPERS ARE BROKEN. THE FINISH ON THE PAINT IS FLAKING. IT IS DIRTY TOO. I EXPECT IT CAN BE REPAIRED AND PUT BACK ON THE ROAD OR IT WOULD BE A GOOD PARTS VEHICLE. YOU WILL NEED TO PICK IT UP HERE AT MY HOUSE. CASH ONLY AT THAT TIME. CALL 530-336-5117.

Some NY cabs could avoid hybrid ban
Fri, 05 Apr 2013The Nissan NV200 is having a rough go of it as New York City's Taxi of Tomorrow. The Greater New York Taxi Association wants the van banned on the grounds that it isn't a hybrid, and has gone so far as to sue the city to keep the NV200 out of taxi fleets. According to The New York Times, the city has responded by proposing to allow taxi drivers to use certain hybrid vehicles. The Taxi and Limousine Commission's proposal would allow any vehicle with an interior volume of 138 cubic feet or more. Unfortunately, that excludes nearly every machine that isn't the size of the NV200.
Technically, Nissan is working on a hybrid version of the Taxi of Tomorrow, but it may be years before that model hits the streets, and the Greater New York Taxi Association isn't satisfied with the city's offer. In a statement, the Association said, "These rules look like they have been created to short-circuit the litigation. We do not consider this to be a serious proposal."
Renault-Nissan has sold more EVs than its next two competitors combined
Fri, Sep 4 2015Nissan may not be doing so hot with sales of its Leaf electric vehicle in the US this year, but the Japanese automaker and its France-based partner Renault still remain the gold standard of electric-vehicle sellers. Thanks to numbers crunched by the good people over at EV Sales, we learn that the Renault-Nissan Alliance has moved more than 265,000 electric vehicles around the world. That accounts for more than a quarter of all the EVs sold worldwide and is more than Mitsubishi's 11 percent share and General Motors' 10 percent share combined. Nissan and Renault surpassed the quarter-million electric-vehicle mark in June. There are shifts afoot, though. Renault-Nissan's global EV market share is only 18 percent this year, and the Alliance is losing share to companies like Volkswagen, BYD, and, to a lesser extent, BMW. That shift can be seen in this year's US sales numbers, where the Nissan Leaf has pretty much plunged down. In fact, with VW and BMW broadening their inventory of plug-in models, Germany can claim the third-place spot in the list of countries with the most "electric" automakers, after China and Japan. The US is trailing, even if many people associate electric cars with California's Tesla. On that note, both Ford and General Motors have lost electric-vehicle market share this year, while Mitsubishi has essentially tread water. GM's numbers (and Nissan's, for that matter) need some context because Americans have been holding off on purchasing a first-gen Chevrolet Volt extended-range plug-in while the automaker readies a new and improved version. All told, Japanese companies have produced the most plug-in vehicles, accounting for 39 percent of the world's market so far, while the US is responsible for about one in four electric vehicles ever made. Tesla poaches Renault-Nissan communications boss Sproule
Thu, 13 Mar 2014Need another sign that Tesla is growing into a force to be reckoned with? Bloomberg reports it has just snagged high-profile communications boss Simon Sproule from Renault-Nissan to become the EV maker's vice president of communications and marketing.
Sproule is an industry veteran, having spent 20 years at Nissan (where he grew to become CEO Carlos Ghosn's right-hand man). In addition, he logged stints at Ford, Jaguar (when it was still a Blue Oval-owned brand) and Microsoft. Despite all that experience, Sproule is still young, at just 45 years of age, as Bloomberg points out, yet he's held positions in the US, Japan and France over the years.
This is all good news for Tesla, which is in need of a strong spokesman outside of company CEO Elon Musk. It's been battling with the state of New Jersey and its governor, Chris Christie, over direct sales in the Garden State.
