This auction is for a 1997 Nissan XE pick-up with 229,000 highway miles, auto transmission, ice cold a/c. Truck runs great, don't let the miles scare you.
Within the last year, the following parts have been replaced:
- new radiator
- water pump
- all belts
- starter
- alternator
- new front brake lines
- calipers and pads (replaced 3,000 miles ago)
- new plugs, wires, and cap
- rear end fluid has been changed
- transmission fluid and filter
- has a K & N air filter
- valve cover gasket
The bad:
- Right front fender has some damage
- front bumper is not straight
- small hole on driver's side seat
- right side over rear wheel well is rusted
- rust hole on the inside of the bed
At times, the check engine light comes on, but goes off in a day or so. Also, at start up, it makes a rattle noise. I was told it was timing chain guides are worn.
Oil has been changed every 3,000 miles and gets 20-23 miles per gallon. Front tires have 25,000 miles, and rears are 80% worn. For the age of the truck, it still runs well and has plenty of life left. The windows are tinted, it has a JVC CD/Apple IPod-ready in-dash deck with detachable faceplate, a remote start , and tonneau cover.
**Please note, the stereo, remote starter, and tonneau cover will only be included with truck if reserve is met.
Please let me know if you have any questions about the truck; it will be sold as-is with no warranty.

Nissan teases new pickup again, this time with video
Wed, 04 Jun 2014It was just yesterday that we were presented with our first teaser image of Nissan's new midsize pickup, ahead of its June 11 debut. Today, we have video of what is most likely the next-generation Frontier.
It does reveal a skosh more of the truck than the teaser, focusing on the grille, which should follow Nissan's familial pattern. There's also plenty of footage of the new truck in action, as well as a tiny glimpse of the cabin, which shows (we're guessing) an information display in the instrument cluster.
Take a look below for the video, and then be sure to check back here in one week for the official reveal of the newest Nissan pickup.
Ghosn orders Nissan USA to double sales by 2017
Mon, 13 May 2013Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn has just one teensy-weensy request for its United States arm: Double your sales by 2017.
"China was not our biggest, I would say, disappointment. It was mainly the United States. We were expecting a strong year in the United States. It didn't happen," Ghosn said, speaking at a conference after announcing Nissan's 2012 fiscal results, Automotive News reports. Because of this, Ghosn has ordered his US executives to iron out the problems that affected new vehicle launches and to strengthen the company's dealer network.
In 2012, Nissan's US sales rose to 1.1 million units - a five-percent increase, and a record, at that. But the company's overall market share fell from 8.2 percent to 7.7 percent, putting the company further away from its goal of having a 10-percent stake overall.
Nissan Juke-R [w/video]
Fri, 03 May 2013The Other Brother
The handler strapped into the carbon fiber race bucket next to me is the only other person outside of yours truly who looks like he thinks this is a bad idea. I've just finished situating myself in the cabin of the very first Nissan Juke-R ever constructed. There are literally thousands of man hours in this single prototype and only four examples of the car total in the entire world. Each one carries a price tag of around $656,400 at current conversion rates, making this both the rarest and most expensive piece of machinery anyone has ever let me get close enough to sniff, let alone drive.
And that's exactly what I mean to do.
