1990 Nissan D21 Standard Cab Pickup 2-door 2.4l on 2040-cars
Levittown, New York, United States
I bought this truck thinking I would keep it a long time but plans have changed. I bought it from friends who had it for quite a while, they had purchased it from the original owner, so I'm the 3rd owner. Thinking I was gonna keep it I did a fairly comprehensive freshening up on it last yr @ 104K mi.. So lets start at the front w/ a new radiator, water pump and thermostat. The motor received a complete tuneup incl cap, rotor, new wires, fuel/air filter, new injectors, engine belts, and valve cover gasket. The trans and rear diff oil changed. Anew cat, muffler, mid and tail pipe. The rear shackle spring bushings replaced which keeps the bed level and quiet.New shocks, New front brake pads, the rear shoes along w/ wheel cylinders were done just before I bought it, everything in the back has been adjusted. New tires!! on 15" pathfinder wheels. Inside the cab I put new speakers in the doors and replaced the blower fan resistor, and replaced the air filter/screen in the heating duct. It has a new windshield after a dump truck spit a rock up and cracked it. This is a great truck!, it does not leak, burn or smoke anything. It's quiet and rides nice. It's good on gas w/ good power. As far as I can tell it's never been worked and has never towed anything. There's v. good heat a decent stereo and the head liner and seat are in good shape...and yes I will vacuum it out!, just been too cold today. Someone is going to get a truck that is a solid performer. Yes its 24yrs old, but most everything has been done and there's a lot of life left. There's some paint fade, clear coating is gone in spots, a couple small dents that can be pushed out, but all in it's a great little truck. Straight up, the reserve is modest @ $2000, don't call and offer me less. If you live on or near LI, NY you're welcome to call me, come and look, take a drive, kick the tires. I'll even help get it to you if needed. It's gotta go and someone is getting a hell of a deal! btw, I'm 54 and a bit of a car nut so you're not getting something that's been abused or cobbed together. I've been using it at least 2x a wk to go to work and haul my bicycles on the wkends. I've got signs in it and listed locally so I reserve the right to end the auction at any time, thanks for looking and any questions pls call, my name is Joe and my # is 516-978-5634. Good Luck!

Cadillac ELR, Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas win Eyes on Design awards
Fri, 18 Jan 2013This year's annual Eyes on Design awards were presented at the end of press days for the Detroit Auto Show on Tuesday. Given out for the best production and concept car designs that debuted at the show, and voted on by an esteemed panel of actual car designers, this year's award for best production vehicle design went to the 2014 Cadillac ELR. The 2014 Chevrolet Corvette, which was the show favorite among Autoblog editors, apparently did not impress the Eyes on Design judges enough with its all-new vent-festooned design.
The award for best concept design was actually split as a tie among the Nissan Resonance and Ford Atlas concepts. Last year's winners were the 2013 Ford Fusion and the Lexus LF-LC concept.
The Eyes on Design organization also presented a new honor this year called the Catalyst Award to Bob Lutz, former Vice Chairman of General Motors. Lutz is reported to have given a defense of design in his acceptance speech, arguing that advancements in quality across the industry as a whole have made good design a key differentiator for buyers.
Nissan, Renault in talks to merge as one company
Thu, Mar 29 2018Nissan and Renault have been tied together as an alliance for nearly 20 years, but now the Japanese and French automakers are discussing whether to merge. Bloomberg, citing unidentified sources familiar with the confidential talks, reports that the idea is to form a larger, single publicly traded company to better compete against giants like Toyota and Volkswagen. It would also mark the end of the alliance that first began in 1999 and also includes Mitsubishi, in which Nissan acquired a controlling interest in 2016. A full merger would help the companies pool resources to develop electric vehicles, autonomous vehicles and car-sharing services. It would involve Nissan giving Renault shareholders stock in the new company, with Nissan shareholders also gaining shares in the new company, Bloomberg reports. The new company would be run by Carlos Ghosn, the current chairman of both companies. But any such merger, as you might expect, would be complicated, in part by geopolitics. The French government owns a 15-percent stake in Renault, and both the French and Japanese governments might be reluctant to let go of their respective home-grown brands. Currently, Renault owns a 43-percent stake in Nissan, while Nissan owns 15 percent of its French partner. Reuters reported recently that Ghosn proposed buying most of the French government's stake in Renault as part of plans for a closer tie-up. The Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance already has been working to establish a $200 million mobility tech fund to invest in startups, a reflection of how seismic changes in the auto industry have left many legacy companies scrambling to stay current. Nissan in 2016 paid a reported $2.3 billion to acquire 34 percent of Mitsubishi in order to share platforms, technology, manufacturing and other resources. Nissan Rogue Detour uses Google Maps to go create virtual test drive from your doorstep
Thu, 06 Feb 2014The best way to evaluate a new car before you buy it is to test drive it. All of the specs and reviews in the world cannot communicate how a car suits you as well as a few minutes behind the wheel. Interesting, then, that according to Nissan, the average buyer spends twice as much time researching new cars online than they do at dealers.
To market its new 2014 Rogue, Nissan has launched an online marketing experience aimed at bridging that gap. Called The Detour, it combines Google Street View and Google Maps to give you a custom-tailored virtual test drive. The neat, uniquely interactive part about Detour is that it allows you to specify a starting and ending location. Thus, you can use the microsite to 'show' the Rogue on your commute, or your favorite stretch of tarmac. To spice things up, Nissan has added some digital effects and set the experience to a song by British rapper M.I.A.
Detour seems to work better on shorter journeys, because it snips out some portions of the route in order to keep the experience from running too long. If you're going to try it out, we suggest using a crosstown journey rather than going cross country.
