History: I inherited this car from my parents in late 2012. They acquired it, used, from the local Nissan dealer in 2008. In mid 2009 the car was taken in to the dealer for an electrical problem which was repaired by removal of an aftermarket anti-theft alarm. In mid 2010, the fuel injection system was serviced, front and rear brake pads replaced and rotors resurfaced, along with 60K mile service. In mid 2011, brake linings drums and rotors were inspected. Brake pads were found to have 70% wear left and drums in good condition. The car was also test driven with no "noises." In August, 20011, the dealer performed a complete fuel system cleaning. The car was given routine oil service in mid 2012 and in February of 2013. It passed the California vehicle emissions test on February 15 of 2013.
Features: Power steering-seats-locks-windows; airconditioning; heated front seats; Single CD changer and tape deck; on board navigation system; cruise control; driver and passenger side air bags. Child proof locks in rear. Sunroof.
Condition: the inside is clean and the seats are unmarred. There are small rubmarks on the left passenger side door and driver side door. On the exterior, there is some delamination of film covering the trim above the driver and passenger side doors (not shown). There are scratches on the rear bumper (photos 19 &20) and a dent on the left rear quarter panel (photo 21). There are scratches and dents on the front left bumper (photos 16-18). There are scratches on the rims of all four wheels (photos 12-15) and almost the length of the driverside rocker (photo 22). The passenger side rocker is unaffected, but the front mudflap for that rocker is damaged slightly (photos 23 and 24). There is slight hazing of the front headlight plastic shields (not shown). Four Michelin MVX4 tires on the vehicle were purchased at 51359 miles.
The car continues to run well.
Payment: $500 deposit thru Paypal within 48 hours of the close of the auction and the residual as cash or cashier's check due 7 business days after close of auction. Buyer picks vehicle up.

Nissan to bring Friend-Me concept to Shanghai
Mon, 01 Apr 2013Nissan's got a big ol' show planned for its immersive space at the 2013 Shanghai Motor Show where visitors will see, touch, hear and smell the Nissan world. Sitting among 20 offerings that include the GT-R, Quest, Murano and Teana will be the Friend-Me concept (click image above to enlarge), the first show car created with "key input" by Chinese designers at Nissan Design China in Beijing. Its USP is "Four seats, one mind connectivity" that promotes information sharing among all the occupants.
The Friend-Me has the "vibrant, young" Chinese demographic in mind, our guess being Nissan thinks there's no reason to stop the digital sharing just because you're sitting in a car. We'll find out on April 20 exactly what's being exchanged in the Friend-Me. Until then, there's a press release below with a little more info.
Nissan could have bought a stake in Aston Martin as early as 2012
Mon, 08 Sep 2014Aston Martin has a very interesting future ahead of it. While the British brand appeared to be struggling with aging tech for a while, fresh investment from Daimler may have shown a light toward the future with the brand getting engines and electronics from them. Also, former Renault-Nissan top exec Andy Palmer has jumped ship from the French/Japanese automaker to become CEO of the much smaller sports car company. Interestingly, though, new reports from unnamed Nissan sources have indicated that Palmer has been pushing to work with AM for years.
Three unnamed company insiders told Reuters that Palmer made attempts to convince Renault-Nissan CEO Carlos Ghosn in 2012 and 2013 to invest in Aston Martin, but his proposals were shot down both times for unspecified reasons, according to Automotive News. "We looked carefully at the proposal but we passed on it," said one of the sources.
You can easily see why Palmer was eying Aston Martin even back in 2012. It's no secret that the British sports car mavens were in need of extra funding, well before the Daimler investment. Building vehicles these days is only getting more expensive with stronger safety and emissions requirements. Just look at the brand's desperate hope to get a side-impact crash exemption to keep selling its models in the US as an example.
Meet Sparky, Nissan's Leaf-based, Frontier-bedded EV parts hauler [w/video]
Thu, 18 Sep 2014For many enthusiasts, the concept of the ute - a car with a pickup bed - is somehow irresistibly appealing. On paper, it promises the marriage of a truck's utility and a car's superior driving dynamics, and for that reason alone, we'd love to see more of them. Yet while other parts of the world get them in good numbers, North America doesn't ever see them - at least not for long. Based on what we've seen of late, though, that's not due to a lack of motivation on the part of engineers.
BMW wowed us several years ago with an M3 ute, and earlier this year, some interns converted a Mini Paceman into the pickup-bodied Paceman Adventure. Loathe to let their rivals in Munich and Oxford have all the fun, Nissan has built its very own car-based pickup. Meet Sparky, the world's first Leaf Frontier.
Like the M3, this all-electric ute is used as a parts hauler for Nissan's engineering teams at its sprawling Stanfield, AZ tech center and proving grounds.
