Offered is a 2006 Nissan Maxima SE, 3.5L V6. This Nissan has 88,123 miles and is being sold, as is with NO RESERVE so we do not have to re-list. This Nissan is being auctioned by the Woodridge Illinois Police Department. The history of this vehicle is unknown as it was seized in a traffic-stop arrest that occurred on September 2^nd, 2013. Following the arrest this Nissan was stored in a warehouse until it was awarded to the Woodridge Police by court order on December 12^th, 2013 and we hold clear title.

We will attempt to describe this vehicle to the best of our ability and you may inspect the vehicle, in person, by appointment.

The body has dents, scratches, scuff marks and rust. Both front and rear bumpers appear to be misaligned. The underside of the driver’s floorboard is almost rusted through. See photos.

The interior shows some ware. The dome lights do not work. The trunk is dirty and the spare tire well is rusty. See photos.

During a brief test drive, the Nissan had to be jumpstarted and then stayed running. When the Nissan is put into gear there is a loud clunk noise and it will probably need an engine mount. There appears to be a coolant leak and an oil leak near the oil filter. There are dashboard warning lights for ABS, traction control and brake. The air conditioner blows cold. The Nissan accelerated as expected but may need brakes. It is suggested that the buyer have this Nissan fully inspected/serviced by a qualified mechanic before use. See photos.

The NADA listed value for this 2006 Nissan Maxima-V6 4D SE is $6,275 for "Rough Trade-In", $7,400 for "Average Trade-In" and $8,325 for "Clean Trade-In". Datsun expands low-cost revival with new Mi-Do in Moscow [w/video]

Those who were disappointed when Datsun changed its name to Nissan over three decades ago may have been pleased to see the marque revived last year, even as a budget brand. Nissan's counterpart to its ally Renault's Dacia budget brand, Datsun has been steadily expanding its lineup of low-cost transportation for developing markets with the debut of the Go hatchback in India, the Go+ minivan in Indonesia and the On-Do sedan in Russia. And now it has returned to Moscow to reveal its fourth model, the Mi-Do.
Based closely on the On-Do sedan (which itself is based on the Lada Granta) the Mi-Do takes on a five-door hatchback bodystyle but with no more frills. It uses the same front-drive chassis with the same wheelbase as the sedan, but its chopped tail makes it a good foot and a half shorter overall. Into that compact shape, Datsun has fitted dual airbags, ABS and... well, that's about it. It's got a 1.6-liter, eight-valve inline-four kicking out a grand total of 87 horsepower to either a five-speed manual or a four-speed automatic. Bare bones, this is.
While delivery of the first On-Do sedans commences next month (with the first example going to an IT specialist in Omsk), the Mi-Do is set to begin delivery early next year. Scope out the video and press release below from the Mi-Do's reveal at the Moscow Motor Show.

Nissan 'Ride of Your Life' campaign turns an Altima into a race car [w/video]

Nissan definitely makes some exciting vehicles. The GT-R has received continuous improvements to keep it at the head of the pack in the performance car world. And the Leaf might not bring driving intensity, but its technology is quite impressive. However, there is nothing especially thrilling about the Altima. Granted, it races in the Australian V8 Supercars series, but that car really only shares its basic shape with the production version. So it may see surprising that the Japanese automaker is hoping to inject some drama into its midsize sedan with its new Ride of Your Life ad campaign.
The project is pretty clever. Nissan invited several people to the Horse Thief Mile circuit at Willow Springs Raceway for a ride in an Altima racecar. After a few laps with a professional driver around the course, they pulled into the pits, and the passengers got a big surprise. We won't spoil what happens for you. The concept is somewhat similar to Toyota's thrill ride ads for the Camry last year. Both promotions try to show that that these four-door, family sedans can be more than just boring transportation. Nissan's commercials will begin airing on TV soon. The automaker hopes to excite potential Altima buyers ahead of its upcoming national sales event. When at least two of the Detroit Three were on the verge of death a few years back, one of the tough questions that was asked of Ford, General Motors and Chrysler execs - outside of why execs were still taking private planes to meetings - was why each company maintained huge archives of old production and concept vehicles. GM, for example, had an 1,100-vehicle collection when talk of a federal bailout began.
