DESCRIPTION OF AAM POWER KIT

The AAM Competition GT750R Sport upgrade goes beyond the classic intake and exhaust improvements to bring you impressive power gains from a bolt on kit for your GT-R. This package includes upgraded turbochargers and can be installed without having to change any internal engine components.

We start with the AAM Competition R-Line intake. This easy to install intake brings maximum intake airflow to your engine. Also included is the AAM Competition Turbo Inlet Pipes to bring much more air to your upgraded turbochargers.

The AAM GT800R Turbo Upgrade is the heart of this package and the key to huge power gains. OEM compression covers and manifolds are prepped using specially designed tooling that insures proper machining with zero deflection. We then install full ball bearing Garrett CHRA cartridges along with larger precision turbine and compressor wheels.

Improving the exhaust flow is always the key to impressive power gains and this package addresses every part of the exhaust system. The AAM Competition high flow non-catted race downpipes open up exhaust right from the turbos. Our proven AAM Competition Non Resonated Midpipe then goes to the AAM Competition 90MM Sport Exhaust. This system has been used on GT-R’s producing more than 1100 horsepower, it is unmatched in optimizing exhaust flow.

Once those intake and exhaust upgrades are installed, it’s time to improve throttle response and hold more boost from the factory turbochargers all the way to redline. We do this by using the AAM Completion Wastegate Actuators and the AAM Competition Upper Intercooler Piping Kit with HKS blow off valves. The piping kit smoothes out intake flow and the actuators make sure you get all the power the upgraded turbos have to give.

This upgrade will require a larger, reliable fuel supply. The AAM Competition S-Line Adjustable 1:1 Fuel System with Twin Fuel Pumps is included. Your kit also includes new 1000 cc injectors and a fresh set of high performance HKS spark plugs to make the most of these upgrades.

We complete the package with tuning to get optimum performance from these new components. We use the Cobb AccessPort tuner and then do a remote custom tune for you. Our years of tuning experience on hundreds of GTR’s insure you get the results you want from your upgrade package.

You get impressive power gains along with OEM like fitment and the durability you expect from AAM Competition.

Nissan applies for 'R-Hybrid' trademark, but what is it for?

Wed, 28 Aug 2013

Patent and trademark filings are sort of like tasseography for those of us in the auto industry. If you know where and how to look at something, there's a lot to be figured out. Take this trademark filing from Nissan - it's similar to the Pure Drive badge found on a Versa or Sentra, but the bottom half sports the phrase "R-Hybrid." This wouldn't be remarkable if the "R" in R-Hybrid weren't the same style as the "R" in the Nissan GT-R's badge, right down to the serifs.
While it's easy to see this as grasping at straws, it makes a fair degree of sense. The R35 GT-R may be a dominant performance machine, but it's been around since 2008, which is donkey years in the automotive industry. And based on the recent crop of hybridized hypercars and racecars, a hybrid GT-R doesn't seem like such a stretch.
As Car And Driver points out, figuring out that the GT-R will go hybrid isn't hard - figuring out when it will arrive, is. The buff book rightly points out that a new GT-R isn't expected until 2017, but that designing and trademarking a badge four years ahead of time is a bit odd. Car and Driver speculates that we could see a mildly hybridized R35, although the chances do seem remarkably low. Head over to C/D for a more thorough rundown on why this just might be a GT-R badge, including comparisons with other R-badged Nissans.

Renault chairman dismisses reports Nissan wants to split from alliance

Thu, Jan 16 2020

PARIS — Renault Chairman Jean-Dominique Senard said on Thursday there was a "real desire" within the top ranks of both companies for its alliance with Nissan to succeed, dismissing suggestions the partnership was on the rocks. Turmoil within the Franco-Japanese alliance, long dogged by internal rivalries, deepened following the November 2018 arrest in Tokyo of its architect and long-time boss Carlos Ghosn on charges of financial crimes, which he denies. Attempts to restore calm were dealt a fresh blow by Ghosn's dramatic flight from Japanese justice and a series of no-holds-barred allegations he has made from his refuge in Lebanon, including that he was the victim of a plot to oust him and that the alliance is now a "masquerade". Nissan has vigorously rejected Ghosn's stance, while both the Japanese firm and Renault have tried to rubbish suggestions their two decades old partnership is falling apart. "We have a board overseeing the alliance which is made up of people who are all extremely in favor of the alliance," Renault Chairman Senard told a briefing with reporters. "There is a common desire to associate our strategic plans and a real desire to make this alliance a success," he added, dismissing a report that Nissan was examining scenarios for a possible future outside of the alliance as "fake news." The 66-year-old declined to comment on anything related to Ghosn, adding: "I only think about the future." Renault shares were down 2% by 1123 GMT, underperfoming the broader auto sector which was down on news that Washington has threatened to impose tariffs on European car imports due to Europe's stance on Iran. Renault's French rival and Peugeot maker PSA Group also gave a flavor of some industry headwinds, reporting a 10% fall in its global sales last year as Chinese demand tanked. Renault is due to publish its 2019 global sales on Friday. JOINT PROJECTS Analysts see Renault-Nissan's cost-saving alliance as vital to both companies as the car industry battles a slowdown and huge investments in cleaner vehicles and automated driving, particularly as rivals PSA and Fiat Chrysler are merging to help meet these challenges. Renault held ultimately unsuccessful talks to combine with Fiat Chrysler last year, which Ghosn described at a Beirut news conference as a huge missed opportunity. Senard, who chairs the alliance's operating board, said on Thursday that once the partnership has been rebooted, other firms might potentially want to join.

Don't expect to hear about second-gen Nissan Leaf anytime soon

Tue, Feb 17 2015

With Chevy revealing the first details of the next-gen Volt at the Detroit Auto Show last month and Tesla priming the pump for the lower-cost Model 3, we're obviously curious to hear about the next-gen Nissan Leaf. It looks like we're going to have to wait. "Of course things are in the works," Nissan's Brian Brockman told AutoblogGreen at the Chicago Auto Show last week, reminding us that the automaker has long been proud of its EV leadership. What that means in practice is that people shouldn't expect to hear anything specific about the new Leaf until we get closer to the summer, well after the New York Auto Show in April. After all, no other companies have to worry about cannibalizing existing pure EV sales, he said. The Chevy Volt is a plug-in hybrid so the now-confirmed Bolt EV that may get here in 2017 is likely to appeal to a slightly different crowd and the audience for a $30,000 Tesla Model 3 is not really the same as the one interested in today's $100,000 Model S. There are any number of other plug-in vehicles coming in the next few years, but the Leaf reigns supreme as the best-selling pure EV in the US, so forgive us if we're curious to know what's coming next, beyond that vague descriptions of it as more mainstream looking with a longer range.
