WARNING: Not of the
faint of heart, shy, or timid!
I am reluctantly putting my 2009 Super Silver Nissan GT-R up for
sale. It has approximately 34,000 miles
and is in amazing shape. This particular
car has the premium package, cold weather package, as well the optional iPod adapter in the glove box.
I
have owned over 25 cars throughout my life including Viper’s, Ferrari’s, AMG’s,
NSX’s, and Porsche’s just to name a few.
However, none of those cars come close to the outright insane
acceleration and ability to garner attention from by-standers that this
GT-R does. The rush of going 0-60 MPH in
less than 3 seconds is something that truly has to be experienced in order to
believe. I have come out of restaurants
to find people lying on the ground taking pictures of the car at weird angles,
just waiting for me to come out to talk about it, people hanging out their car
windows taking videos of the car, and others just asking if they could pose by
it. I often joke with my girlfriend
about feeling like a celebrity whilst owning this car. The attention it gets is honestly that crazy.
In stock form, I can agree with what most expert reviewers
say about the car. It felt somewhat clinical
and soulless due to the tame way that speed is ramped up and muted exhaust
noise when stock. I decided to fix that
problem by adding some power modifications that really change the entire
driving experience of the car. It now
feels racy and on edge while driving. It gives the car a younger and more playful attitude if that makes sense.
The throttle and tip-in is instant and addicting. The exhaust sound now matches the wild
exterior design of the car. When just cruising
around town it is still tame and not obnoxious.
However, when you step on the gas, the exhaust emits a high pitched shrill
that really sounds wild. Thanks to the
free flowing exhaust and intake track, you can now hear the turbos spooling up
and the blow off valves working when coming off the throttle inside of the car with the windows up. The way that the car now builds up speed is
borderline ridiculous. It is so
effortless to blow past 100MPH without even noticing it.
The best part about this is that the car is still perfectly
suited to be a daily driven super car.
The Michelin Pilot Super Sport tires eliminate the harsh road noise that
is emitted by the stock run flat tires while providing a smooth and comfortable
ride at the same time. I also went ahead
and corrected the problem that stock GT-R’s face which is a lack of sound deadening. Throughout the entire car, I have added
Dynamat sound deadening “trunk, rear seats, rear floor, front floor, and inside
of doors.” Then I went a step further by
adding a layer of Dynapad heat and sound suppressor “trunk, rear seats, and
rear floor.” The car is now super quiet
inside and no longer sounds like a tin can.
It can be taken on long trips without a problem.
So why am I selling this amazing machine? The truth is that I want to build a new house
and am downsizing a lot of my toys in the process. As much as I hate to let this car go, I know
that it is the right thing to do and I will own another one someday soon. I would consider trades for a cheaper car
with cash on top such as a Viper, SL55, SL65, C63, NSX, S5, M6, or CTS-V coupe
but would prefer an outright sale to free up as much cash as possible.
All the maintenance has been kept up to date on this vehicle
and it currently needs nothing. I even
had the bellhousing replaced with the 2012+ newer style as a preventative measure. The wheels, tires, and brake pads have less
than 4,000 miles on them and are still like new. Please review the maintenance items below for
a complete list of what has been performed on the car. It is truly a turnkey car and can be driven anywhere
at any time. The car also has a Nissan
extended warranty until December 19, 2013 or 60,000 miles.
I own this GT-R and have the clean/clear title in hand for a
quick and convenient sale. I would be more than happy to help with the shipping of this vehicle. Please note that some of the pictures show the car with a different style exhaust that is no longer on the car. I will be
away on business until November 20th but can be reached via email or
by phone at any time. If you a serious
buyer with a question about the vehicle please either shoot me a message
through eBay or call me at (412) 260-5877 and I will respond promptly.

Nissan is issuing a massive recall that will see the Japanese automaker repair 908,900 vehicles worldwide, with nearly 100,000 of the affected models in the United States. While an official recall notice from Nissan or the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration is not yet available, Reuters has been able to confirm the recall with Nissan. Nissan's recall is kind of the opposite of the Toyota unintended acceleration, in that it covers a lack of acceleration. According to the report, a sensor in the gas pedal can develop faults, leading to a sluggish acceleration or an outright stall regardless of how much throttle the driver dials in. The huge recall covers mostly Japanese domestic models like the Serena, X-Trail, Lafesta and Fuga, which make up for 764,800 of the 908,900 faulty vehicles. However, 98,300 Infiniti M sedans are being recalled in the US, although it's unclear at this time which model years and trims are affected. The remaining vehicles are found in Europe and Oceania, according to Nissan spokesman Chris Keefe. No injuries or accidents have been reported due to the faults. The 90-minute repair will see techs replace the accelerator pedal and tweak the engine control programs. We'll update this story as soon as Nissan or NHTSA makes an official statement.

Hurricane Sandy was the largest Atlantic storm in US history, and its total economic impact is just now coming into view. According to Automotive News, Toyota, Chrysler, Nissan and Honda are set to scrap around 15,000 new vehicles ruined by the storm. Nissan alone accounts for about 40 percent of those, with 6,000 Nissan and Infiniti models deeded "un-saleable" due to damage. The company saw 56 dealerships shuttered due to the storm, but 51 of those have since reopened. Toyota, meanwhile, had some 4,000 vehicles at its Newark port facility, and of those, 3,000 may be scrapped. An additional 825 were dealer inventory when they were ruined. Honda and Acura dealers are reportedly sending 3,440 vehicles to the salvage yard. By comparison, Chrysler weathered the storm fairly well with 825 units destroyed, while Hyundai suffered only 400 lost units and Kia scrapped around 200. As you may recall, Fisker also suffered some losses, and Automotive News reports the manufacturer saw 320 Karma models damaged beyond repair. Ford and General Motors have yet to come up with estimates, and no automaker has commented on the full cost of replacing the vehicles.

Ever see one of those videos where a baby deer is born and immediately starts walking? Well, this isn't one of those. For starters, the Nissan ZEOD RC isn't exactly a newborn. Nissan took the design of the DeltaWing, gave it a hybrid engine and called it something new. And it hardly started galloping straight out the box, either: this was just a low-speed demonstration run, held at Fuji Speedway where it debuted this past weekend. Still, seeing the car that's destined to take the first lap of Le Mans under electric power alone actually start up and run is something of a landmark in the development of electric racing cars - even if this is, despite Nissan's best efforts to avoid the term, a hybrid, not a pure EV. The name stands for Zero Emissions On Demand, not zero emissions all the time. But then ZEATT wouldn't make for a very good name anyway, would it? See for yourself in the video below.
