AKA “Godzilla”. A name given to these cars by the Australians in 1990. Read more on Wikipedia.                 A device for shrinking Time and Distance.

68,367 Miles on chassis, 5,718 on rebuilt engine. Engine: RB(Race Breed) 26 DETT. In-line 6 cylinder, 2.6 litre, double overhead cams, pent-headed (similar to a Hemi head), 4 valves per cylinder, twin intercooled turbos (TT)..  5 speed manual, Attessa electronic all- wheel drive, Digital Climate Control (self- diagnostic) air conditioned, all wheel disc brakes with ABS, Viscous Limited Slip Differential (VLSD), Hicas rear wheel steering. Factory GT-R coil struts suspension. N1 front lip with disc brake cooling ducts. Top of the line Alarm and anti-theft system .Original GT-R key!

Engine rebuilt at Pro-Power Engines in Saanichton B.C..  Crank was micro-polished and collar for oil pump drive installed. New N1 oil pump and N1 water pump. New ACL race bearings were sent to Calico for their bearing coating to bring crank/bearing clearances back to spec. Rotating assembly was balanced to within 1/10 of a gram.

C.P. forged pistons and Manley rods with ARP rod bolts were installed after block was bored .005 over stock to clean all cylinders. The head was machined for trueness, and all 24 valve guides were re-drilled for alignment and new bronze guides were installed. The valves were lapped in. A metal Cometic Head gasket and ARP head studs were used in assembly. Metal Cometic intake gaskets were used. The head intake and exhaust ports were relieved, combustion chambers polished, and the stock exhaust manifolds were ported and relieved to match head. A new timing belt, belt idler and belt tensioner were installed ( Nissan OEM parts). The cost to rebuild one of these engines is close to $10,000.

The 6 throttle bodies were all re-sealed, the injectors were cleaned and flow tested. The main body of the intake (plenum) is Powder Coated Blue. The engine has a new water temp sensor, new intake air temp sensor, new throttle positioning sensor, new oil pressure sending unit, 3 new accessory belts, and a new 3” aluminum radiator.

Royal purple engine oil and a K&N filter, fresh anti-freeze both done recently. ALL the other gear oils are Red-line synthetic, and recently changed. 2 Greedy/Trust Airlinx muffin type air-filters are used. Stock air box is included. The clutch was just replaced with an A.C.T. Racing clutch, thro-out and pilot bearings, flywheel was resurfaced and new dowels were installed. Fresh NGK Copper plugs recently installed. This engine easily and quickly revs to 8,200 RPM without skipping a beat. The factory boost restrictor was removed by a previous owner, but I’ve installed a new Vibrant Manual Boost Controller. This will increase the boost from the stock7 PSI to a SAFE 12.5 – 13 PSI. The turbos were thoroughly examined for wear and shaft end-play during engine rebuild. They are the stock turbos with the ceramic vanes, NOT safe to run more than 13PSI. New braided re-enforced stainless steel water cooling lines for the turbos were added. I have installed a switch which will turn off the front wheel drive and ABS, for your pre-launch burnouts.

The brake pads were replaced with Hawk Street Performance Pads, and the rotors were turned. It has an HKS Super Dragger Stainless Steel Cat-Back exhaust. The Catalytic converter is still in place. There is 90% tread life on the 4 Michelin Pilot Exalto AS 225/50/R16 tires (in storage to prevent flat spotting over the winter). The rims are the factory GT-R ultra-light wheels (Made with Spartan Air). There are front and rear IMPUL strut tower bars (adjustable). Last summer, a 4 wheel alignment was done. It has an Optima Red-Top battery with Gold battery terminals. There is an E-Brake Drift Button installed, but the stock E-Brake handle comes with it. The Coil-pack cover is also included, and is in excellent condition, but the coils last longer without the heat being trapped in by the cover.

The only body mod is the very rare TOMEI rear tail light covers. The car also has the rare Skyline floor mats, front rear, and rear hump. The only flaw in the whole interior is the exit side of the driver seat side bolster, very typical due to the height of the side bolsters in these cars. It has a Sony Explode CD player with XFINITY speakers.

The exterior original paint is average for a 24 year old car. There is a small dent in the hood, which is aluminum, 2 very small dings in the right side, 2 blemishes on the rear rubber bumper, and the only sign of rust on or under the entire car is showing as blistering the paint in the left rear wheel-well of the quarter panel. I won’t fix it as I’m not trying to hide anything. Photos of these flaws are included here. You must phone me if you want to see more pics. The Speedo has been replaced, as indicated by the Japanese decal in the door jamb on the driver’s side. This was used in calculating the vehicle’s actual mileage when converting the Kilometers to Miles. The car will easily go faster than the speedo’s capable of displaying.

The car comes with a binder from the original Japanese owner, and includes the full service history, in Japanese. It was imported from Japan in 2004, and has had 3 owners since. I will include a CD Rom that has a complete Nissan Owners Service and Repair Manual for the GT-R, in English. I have a folder with receipts for all of the parts I’ve put into the car. Phone if you want to see many, many more photos.

I have a home shop with a hoist, and you or your agents are welcome to come and fully inspect this exceptionally clean driving machine. If you have any further questions, I’d be happy to answer them. For the successful bidder, I will do whatever I can to help you with the import process of having a U.S Customs Brokerage inspect the vehicle at a U.S. Port of Entry ( I’ve done this before), and with your shipping needs if necessary .This vehicle can be imported NOW for Show or Display uses, provided it is not driven more than 2,500 miles per year, or if it is used for off road/track racing only, until December 2014 when it can be licensed as a 25 year old vehicle. It is located close to Seattle Washington. There are three ferries that will get you here. I am a retired senior, and able to help with your transportation needs. Word on the forums is that the price of these cars will soon skyrocket, so it is also a sound investment.

Please phone, prior to bidding, so I can give you more info on how to import to the U.S.  The successful bidder will have 48 hours to make a Minimum $1,000.00 U.S. PayPal deposit(non-refundable). The balance of the success bid will be due 7 business days from the end of the auction in cash or Wire Transfer of funds in U.S. Dollars. Buyer is responsible for ALL fees, Duties, Tariffs, and taxes associated with the purchase and  Importation of this Motor Vehicle.

Happy Bidding!!

2015 Nissan Murano: Introduction [w/video]

Tue, Apr 28 2015

Right as winter turned to spring, a 2015 Nissan Murano was added to the Autoblog long-term test fleet. And while we'd like to report that it's been nothing but smooth sailing, the truth is, as we wrote this, the Murano was undergoing its second stint in the service bay at Suburban Nissan in Troy, MI. It only had 2,400 miles on the odometer. In fact, that's part of the reason why it's taken us so long to introduce this new member of the long-term fleet. After driving the new, third-generation Murano late last year, where we learned that Nissan thinks of its stylish crossover as the flagship for the brand, we decided to order one for a full year's worth of testing at Autoblog HQ. Right from the start, our Murano had problems. At 227 miles, the Check Engine Light illuminated. With no warning messages displayed in the car's onboard infotainment system, we took the Murano to the dealer, where a diagnostic check revealed a faulty O2 sensor. A new part was ordered and we were sent on our way. The Murano went back to the dealer, and now, that issue has been resolved. About 100 miles after the O2 sensor failed, the small storage cover on the center console broke. We aren't really sure how, since this small cubby hasn't had a whole lot of use. Rather than explain it in words, see what's going on in the video below. That's not the only issue we've had with the interior, either. We sort of expected the light, almost white leather to show signs of age during the year-long test, but even after just 2,400 miles, the seats are starting to look worn, with obvious discoloration showing on the driver's seat. What's interesting is, we never had this problem with the light-colored leather on our long-term 2013 Pathfinder. Beyond that, parts of the Murano's interior generally feel poorly put together. The door panels pull away upon light tugging (while closing the door, for example), some of the plastics creak, and we've noticed a few small rattles. Some of this is pretty alarming, especially considering the low mileage of our test car. But it stands to reason that these problems could've been baked in from the start. We're told our car had a couple of issues prior to delivery, and we've heard rumblings from other journalists that their test Muranos haven't been up to snuff. Our early impressions of the Murano were generally positive.

For next Nissan CEO, priority is profit before Renault partnership

Tue, Sep 10 2019

The next head of Nissan Motor Co will need to prioritize a recovery in profits at the troubled Japanese firm ahead of trying to fix its relationship with top shareholder Renault SA, executives and analysts say. Reviving earnings would strengthen the carmaker’s hand in negotiations with its French partner, and is something Renault itself would welcome as the owner of a 43.4% stake in Nissan. JapanÂ’s second-largest automaker said on Monday CEO Hiroto Saikawa would step down on Sept. 16 after he admitted to being overpaid in breach of company rules. ItÂ’s another heavy blow for Nissan, which is already reeling from the arrest of former chairman Carlos Ghosn last year and a subsequent plunge in earnings. Its stock is down 20% this year. For SaikawaÂ’s yet-to-be-named replacement, the top priority will be lifting profits from a more than decade low. Earnings have been undercut by years of heavy discounts and low-margin sales to rental firms that have cheapened NissanÂ’s brand image. Renault, which has unsuccessfully sought a full-blown merger with its larger partner, is likely to give the Japanese firm time to focus on its turnaround, a Nissan executive said. “It goes without saying recovery is the biggest priority,” the executive said, declining to be identified because the information is not public. “We have RenaultÂ’s understanding on that.” Tensions in the Nissan-Renault partnership worsened after GhosnÂ’s arrest. He is awaiting trial in Tokyo on financial misconduct charges that he denies. The strain has sparked investor concern about the future of the Franco-Japanese automaking alliance at a time when car companies desperately need scale to keep up with sweeping technological changes like electric vehicles and ride-hailing. Nissan executives have long complained about their unequal partnership with Renault, which saved the Japanese firm from bankruptcy in 1999. Nissan holds a 15% stake in Renault, but without voting rights. Tokyo is also seen as being uneasy about the French governmentÂ’s 15% holding in Renault, which makes Paris an indirect shareholder in Nissan. “Profitability is likely to remain under pressure and it (Nissan) is unlikely to promptly reach an agreement with Renault over the future shape of the alliance,” analysts at Standard & PoorÂ’s said in a note. Tensions worsened when Renault tried to in vain to merge with Nissan and then Fiat Chrysler.

Carlos Ghosn asks why Japanese don't question him in Lebanon

Tue, Jan 5 2021

BEIRUT — Former Renault-Nissan boss Carlos Ghosn said in an interview aired Monday that French investigators are coming to question him in Lebanon over some legal challenges in France, asking why don't the Japanese do the same thing. GhosnÂ’s comments came two weeks after a Lebanese justice ministry official said a team of French investigators will come to Beirut in January to participate in interrogating the former auto executive. Ghosn, who is a Lebanese, Brazilian and French national, fled Japan in a dramatic escape that drew headlines in late 2019, arriving in Lebanon on Dec. 30 of that year. In addition to his trial in Japan, the 66-year-old businessman is facing a number of legal challenges in France, including tax evasion and alleged money laundering, fraud and misuse of company assets while at the helm of the Renault-Nissan alliance. Ghosn said there is neutrality in Lebanon, where he has been living since fleeing Japan, adding that Lebanese authorities have asked Japanese officials to send the charges against him but Tokyo did not. “What does that mean?” asked Ghosn insisting that he is innocent and was the victim of JapanÂ’s judicial system. “Now the French have charges,” Ghosn said. “They (French) are coming and they will question me. The Japanese are not doing this.” “I consider all the charges to be false,” Ghosn said. After leading the Japanese automaker Nissan for two decades, Ghosn was arrested in Japan in November 2018 on charges of breach of trust, misusing company assets for personal gains and violating securities laws by not fully disclosing his compensation. He denied wrongdoing and fled Japan while out on bail awaiting trial. He is unlikely to be extradited from Lebanon, where he has been since last year. Ghosn said in the interview with the local LBC TV that Lebanon, which is passing through its worst economic and financial crisis in its modern history, “proved that it protects it citizens.” He added: “I am a French citizen, and the French state did not defend me.” At least two Ghosn-related investigations were opened in France. One focused on suspicious transactions between Renault and a distributor in Oman, as well as suspected payments for private trips and events paid by Renault-NissanÂ’s Netherlands-based holding company RNBV. Another investigation focused on suspected misuse of company funds for a party for Ghosn at Versailles.
