2002 NISSAN FRONTIER 6 CYL 3.3L SPECIAL EDITION DESERT RUNNER--THE MUCH NICER SE PACKAGE VERSION (NOT THE XE!!)

***************************************************************************************************************
ABOUT THIS NISSAN FRONTIER TRUCK:
For sale is a 2002 Nissan Frontier 6 cyl, 3.3L loaded Special Edition Desert Runner with SE option package. This is one of the absolute cleanest, best showing 2002 Nissan trucks that you will ever find, especially in the more reasonable price range! Paint is in absolutely fantastic shape, no rust, no accidents. I've kept the truck garaged 99% of the time, and from what I was told, the prior owner kept it garaged as well during his ownership. This explains why the truck is in such great shape, with no sun fade on the paint! I have had many people comment to me that the truck is extremely clean for a 2002, the overall condition is definitely more consistent with a truck that is several years newer.

The ONLY reason for this sale is because I unfortunately have an ill parent & I will very soon be relocating back out west as a result of this, and thus I have to take action now due to my situation. Due to my having to move & the financial burden of doing so, I am forced to sell some vehicles I never planned to, such as this great truck & a collectible car similar to one I already sold here on eBay. Right now, I still have too many cars to transport out west (5), so I must continue to downsize. I truly hate parting with this Nissan Desert Runner as it is a rare find in this condition & with the power options. I know I will miss it, as it has been a very practical, super reliable, fun to drive truck. If not for the circumstances, I would not be parting with it.

The truck was owned by one older gentleman in the Gainesville, FL area until I purchased it. The great condition of the truck coincides with his ownership, the truck appears to have never been abused in any way, and further evidence of this is that he kept it meticulously clean, and with all books & both sets of keys & alarm fobs (one of which looks to be never used). The vehicle has 196k miles, & it's not just a cliche to say that it is a Nissan & that it will be good for many more miles--the way this truck looks, sounds & runs is definitely proof of that! I have owned 2 Nissan's prior to this truck, they are awesome in that way. I welcome in person viewing of the truck.

To that point: 1)This truck is NOT leaking any fluids whatsoever, nor has it ever in the entire time I've had it right up to this moment. 2)The motor is incredibly super quiet, absolutely NO tapping noises, or anything at all like that! Very smooth idling, no erratic idle whatsoever! When you look under the hood of this truck & see the amazing clean condition there, and have the engine running, it looks & sounds like a near new truck! No exaggeration on this. I am trying to emphasize this to give an accurate description of just how great the motor sounds, to allow for confident bidding.

The original owner had used this truck to drive bi-weekly to the Pensacola FL area for business, and he lived in a rural area near Gainesville FL. Thus the mileage is primarily freeway/highway, which is consistent with how the vehicle looks & runs more like a 50 or 75k truck!

I recently drove the truck back here to Orlando from being out in the Las Vegas area this summer (where I'll be relocating). It was a perfect, smooth, problem free trip! The truck performed flawlessly and is easy & comfortable to drive on long trips! The Sony in dash system I installed made it even better. The weather conditions were still very warm then, but the A/C blows so incredibly ice cold in this truck, I could not set it above the lowest setting, as it would actually get too cold inside after a few minutes!

If you win the auction & wish to drive the truck home, you can do so! There is nothing to hide on this truck--it shows really well & runs perfectly. If you are local, it can be seen in person. Check out the 24 pictures I've posted & my detailed description, and bid with confidence.

CONDITION OF VEHICLE
*EXTERIOR
The exterior of this Desert Runner is in excellent condition and definitely above average for it's year. (SEE PICTURES!) The paint is exceptional, shines and has rich color as seen in the photos! As with any used truck, there are some very minor imperfections on the truck if inspected in detail, nothing out of the ordinary, and definitely much less than one would expect to find on a 2002. Nothing that is even seen unless looking up close. It is rare to see one in this condition, and it reflects the fact that this truck is a 2 owner vehicle that has always been garage stored. If you look at the pictures, you can see the shine--and that is with this car not being waxed or detailed in quite a while! I have not seen one with such high luster paint.

The only areas which even need to be mentioned would be the front bumper area, which has some marks from bugs/road that are hard to remove (and not uncommon). Also, there is an area of the front bumper on the passenger side bottom that has a cracked area in the plastic, but is the type of thing that is rarely seen or noticed, as it is basically underneath on the passenger side front. In fact, it was there when I bought the truck and I actually didnt even notice it until after I committed to buy the vehicle! Also, the metal rear bumper has some minor imperfections common to these, but nothing that detracts from the overall fantastic condition of the paint & body of this truck. Ebay limited me in the number of pictures I could post, but if you require any extra pics, let me know & I can try to email them.

*INTERIOR
The interior of this truck is in absolutely amazing condition for its year!!! Condition-wise, it definitely does NOT look like the interior of a 2002 truck (more like a 2012), and gives you a really good idea how this truck was cared for! (SEE PICTURES!) No rips or tears etc to the seats, or carpeting, front or rear! The dash, steering wheel, and console are all in fantastic shape! And the rear area is like new, the 2 "jumper seats" look like they have never even been used!  You'd be hard pressed to ever find another 2002 that is as well kept as this one inside! Again, it reflects the fact that it is a 2 owner vehicle that has NOT been abused!
*TIRES & WHEELS
Tires are Michelin 255/65R16 and are in ok shape. Tires should be good into next year. Wheels are original stock and in good condition. The 2 Nissan decorative center wheel caps were missing from the passenger side when I bought the truck, but I am ordering a brand new set for the new owner & they will be provided for the buyer.
********************************************************************************************************************
The only thing to even mention on this truck is that the passenger airbag light is illuminated. This occurred when I had to remove the plastic dash trim piece to install the Sony in dash system. There is a plug on the trim piece that was connected to the on/off light for the pass airbag. I disconnected it & the cigarette lighter as well when I had to get the trim piece out of the way to remove the original stereo & install the Sony. Apparently, unplugging a light momentarily or anything like that causes the airbag indicator light to need to be reset. It has been as such since the stereo was installed by me & has had absolutely no affect whatsoever, but I did want to mention it.

Other than that very minor detail, there are absolutely NO known issues whatsoever on this truck! I've had zero problems with this Nissan! Everything works perfectly!!!

PAYMENT & SHIPPING:

PAYMENT:

A payment of a $750 deposit towards winning bid amount is due within 48 hours from end of auction. This is to be paid via paypal. The remaining balance will be due within 10 days. Payment method for remaining balance may possibly be paid via Paypal (only if buyer covers the paypal fee), as it is a convenient payment option, especially when out of area. Otherwise it can of course be paid by cash, personal check, or a bank check/money order. However if paid by check, it does need to clear before car & title are given to the new owner.

SHIPPING:

Vehicle can be picked up/shipped once cleared payment in full is received from buyer. I am happy to assist the buyer with any shipping arrangements on my end. I will go out of my way to help. Shipping/pickup of the car is the financial responsibility of the buyer. I have sold 4 cars over my 13 years on ebay, all were sold to buyers out of area & went very smoothly, including a very unique car which I just sold on here a few months ago. 3 of 4 were shipped because it was actually much easier & cheaper for the buyer. The auto transport business is super competitive so its definitely worth checking in to a quote if not a local buyer. However, this truck can certainly be driven home by the new owner! I can pick up the buyer at Orlando International Airport if needed.

The truck is located in Orlando FL.

QUESTIONS ETC

If you have a legitimate question, I will try my best to answer it. Please allow me time to do so as I am not always on my computer. I always try to be very detailed & give a lot of information, and I also include the eBay maximum allowed number of pictures (24) in my listings to reduce the number of unnecessary questions, this has worked well in my prior auctions. I would have actually put more pictures if possible, but ebay only permits 24. If there is anything you need a picture of, let me know.  If you are in the Orlando area, I can try to show it in person. There is nothing to hide on this truck, so I welcome inspection!

However, please do not ask me what the reserve price is. I prefer to let the auction run its course as intended. I have handled my last few auctions this way, & it works much better. (If you wish to make an offer, you can send me a message.) The reserve was not intended on ebay to be disclosed, otherwise it would be shown! The reserve is below the book value. Bid what you want to pay, regardless of the reserve. If you are the high bidder & the reserve is met, then that's how it works.

*************************************************************

As with any private party used vehicle sold on ebay, this is sold as-is with no warranty included or implied. That said, I have done my best to represent this car as completely as possible. It has been a trouble-free Nissan truck for me!

Bid with total confidence--I have 13 years of feedback, including a collectible car I just recently sold earlier this year!

This is a really great looking, loaded, clean Nissan truck especially for one in this lower price range. Remember, this is the harder to find & nicer SE version. (KBB value on the SE is approx $1500 higher than an XE)

Don't miss out!!

Thanks for your interest!

Ever wonder how to really pronounce Japanese automaker names?

Thu, 25 Sep 2014

People tend to get very set in their ways when it comes to the pronunciation of words. Just look at the endless debates over whether or not to say the final 'e' in Porsche (which you should in terms of correct German enunciation). Or the argument about whether to follow the British convention and give the 'u' in Jaguar a special delivery or to say the 'ua' diphthong as more of a 'w' sound, as usually happens in the US.
This short video doesn't answer either of those automotive questions, but it does allow a native Japanese speaker to demonstrate the accepted pronunciations for several, major automakers from the country. One benefit is that it clears up the occasional debate over whether Nissan should be said with a long or short 'i' sound. Also, listen closely to how the female host says Mazda as Matsuda, the way it's actually said in the language. Even if this doesn't change the way you enunciate these brands, at least now you know the accurate way in Japanese.

Nissan Friend-Me Concept is cooler than its name

Sat, 20 Apr 2013

Here is the Nissan Friend-Me, a swoopy - and let us emphasize that word "swoopy" - sedan-with-a-hatchback developed specifically for Chinese youth in their mid-twenties, the ones born in the '80s mainly bereft of siblings due to China's one-child policy. The exterior is meant to be most imposing at night, when Nissan figures these single children will be getting together with their friends. The sheetmetal looks like it was shaped by waves, and the details like lighting and vent openings could have been penned on Krypton.
The real show is inside, where peers are made equal and can interact with one another via the "oracle stone." The concept is that instead of a driver and three passengers, everyone gets access to the same information and the ability to alter the ambiance of the car - dash readouts are provided for all of the occupants, and anyone can move content from their phones to the in-car screens to be shared throughout. As Nissan says, it's the end of anyone being a "music dictator."
Designed by Nissan Design China for a specific market-within-a-market estimated to contain 240 million potential buyers, Nissan says the wishes of these customers and the ideas in this car could shape automotive offerings for decades to come. So read all about it in the press release below and take some long virtual looks in the galleries of high-res photos.

Fiat contemplating sub-brand to compete with Dacia, Datsun

Tue, 05 Feb 2013

You can add Fiat to the admittedly short list of automakers considering a low-cost brand to rival Dacia. The inexpensive Eastern European brand from Renault-Nissan has performed on the balance sheet like a premium model line, and the money the alliance is taking off the table is encouraging other players to deal themselves in. Pretty soon Nissan's Datsun sub-brand will join the Dacia party, going on sale in Russia, Indonesia and India and will claim even more rubles, rupiahs and rupees for the parent company. Volkswagen recently said it will make a decision this year on a budget line for the Chinese market. With the euthanasia of Lancia and plans to move the Fiat brand upmarket, company CEO Sergio Marchionne wonders aloud to Automotive News Europe whether there could be room for a new budget brand underneath Fiat.
We're told that the initiative has been in the idea box for five years and even moved to the stage of name considerations, like Innocenti, but worries about profit kept it from realization. If such a range were to be developed, Marchionne says it couldn't be built in Italy and stay within budget, and the company is "analyzing its manufacturing capacity outside of Europe to see if a low-cost brand is viable."
