THE FOLLOWING IS A COMPLETELY HONEST DESCRIPTION OF THE CAR GOOD AND BAD!!!! IT WILL LEAVE NO SURPRISES!!! THIS IS A GOOD CAR THAT GETS EXCELLENT GAS MILEAGE AND HAS AND STILL SERVES ME WELL.

I HAVE OWNED THIS CAR FOR A WHILE AND DRIVE IT REGULARLY WITH NO PROBLEMS. I FEEL VERY CONFIDENT THAT IT COULD BE DRIVEN HOME ANYWHERE. THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED IN IT AND HAS FEW MILES ON IT... THE ENGINE IDLE NEEDS TO BE RE-SET AFTER ENGINE SWAP THE CAR IDLES A LITTLE OVER NORMAL (AROUND 1300 RPM). THE CAR GETS EXCELLENT FUEL MILEAGE. IT HAS THE USUAL SMALL DINGS AND SCRATCHES THAT YOU'D EXPECT ON A CAR THIS AGE. I HAVE RECENTLY REPLACED THE FRONT ENGINE MOUNT, THE WINDSHIELD, AND THE CRANK SENSOR. OTHER THAN THE IDLE NEEDING SET IT HAS A NOISY STRUT ON THE DRIVER'S FRONT, THE FUEL GAUGE DOESN'T WORK PROPERLY BUT IT WILL TELL YOU WHEN YOU'RE FUEL IS LOW... THE A/C NEEDS RECHARGED AFTER THE ENGINE WAS REPLACED, AND A COUPLE DOOR HANDLES ARE CRACKED BUT STILL WORK FINE ALSO. THAT'S WHAT I KNOW ABOUT THIS CAR, IT IS DRIVEN DAILY AND DRIVES VERY SMOOTH, THE CRUISE CONTROL WORKS AND THE CAR HAS PLENTY OF POWER.. TRANSMISSION SHIFTS GOOD AND STRONG. TITLE SAYS MILEAGE DISCREPANCY ON IT... BUT THE ODOMETER WORKS GREAT AND HAS CONTINUALLY REGISTERED THE SEVERAL THOUSANDS OF MILES THAT I HAVE DRIVEN IT. THIS IS AS ACCURATE OF A DESCRIPTION AS I CAN GIVE YOU OF THE CAR. IT HAS BEEN A VERY DEPENDABLE CAR FOR ME AND I TRUST THAT IT CAN BE DRIVEN HOME BY ANYONE. THIS IS A USED CAR THAT IS BEING SOLD AS IS AND WHERE IS... WITH NO WARRANTY EXPRESSED OR IMPLIED AT ALL. A 300.00 NON-REFUNDABLE DEPOSIT IS DUE VIA PAYPAL AT AUCTION CLOSE... PAYPAL WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED FOR ANYTHING OTHER THAN DEPOSIT DUE TO THE HIGH FEES. CAR IS ALSO FOR SALE LOCALLY AND I RESERVE THE RIGHT TO END THE AUCTION AT ANY TIME. THANKS! CALL 865-278-0377 IF YOU HAVE ANY QUESTIONS.

Renault planning a Tata Nano rival. Again.

Wed, 28 Nov 2012

Four years ago, Renault confirmed that it would partner with India's Bajaj Auto to develop a rival to the Tata Nano. At the time, as everyone waited for the Tata Nano to arrive, you could have used a Richter scale to measure the tremors the executive suites of any automaker with an interest in the low end of emerging markets. Then the Nano, still the cheapest car in the world, didn't sell so well - at the end of last year its sales were just six percent of its most conservative projections - and everyone seemed content to let Tata spend the money to figure out if there really was a market for the cheapest car in the world.
Renault believes there is, kind of. Automotive News Europe reports that it will partner with Nissan to build two low-priced cars for emerging markets, one for €3,000 ($3,888 U.S.) and another for €5,000 ($6,400 U.S.). The price of the least expensive offering is nearly $1,400 more than a Nano, which costs $2,500, and that can't be considered a small sum in comparison. But one of the hindsight knocks on the Nano has been that even in emerging markets buyers don't want a car whose biggest lure is that it is cheap; they'd rather give their aspirations a bit more of a workout.
Renault's offerings are scheduled to hit the non-Western market in late 2014, which is coincidentally the same year that will see the return of the budget-minded and emerging-market-specific Datsun nameplate. They'll be built in Renault facilities in Chennai, India, with no mention made of Bajaj this time around.

2016 April Fools' Day: Morgan digs at Tesla, Mini's scissor doors, more

Fri, Apr 1 2016

Every year automakers go out of their way to come up with gags for April Fools' Day. Sometimes the jokes fall flat, but occasionally a company really nails it with an idea that we'd actually love to see. Rather than scouring the Web for all of these stunts, you can find some of our favorites right here. Morgan MOGrod The Morgan Motor Company's MOGrod is one of our favorite April Fools' jokes so far this year because it's a car we wish could be real. The company says on Twitter that the retro hot rod uses a 3.7-liter Ford V6, and there are already 250,000 preorders, which is a play on the huge number of reservations for the Tesla Model 3. Morgan took the joke even further by sketching a landspeed record version for the Bonneville Salt Flats. Mini Scissor Doors The people at Mini apparently have a lot of free time because the company has two gags this year. The first is the scissor door option. The idea cleverly plays on the myriad ways customers can customize their Mini, but this solution doesn't look like anyone could easily enter the car due to the way these doors open. Mini Hipster Hatch There's also the Hipster Mini, which is a much funnier idea. This fictional hatchback would be perfect for fashionable Millennials thanks to features like Instagram-filter windows and a fixed-gear drivetrain, which limits the top speed to 25 miles per hour. The interior uses stonewash denim upholstery and packs a twin-deck cassette player. Skoda Dog Umbrella People love dogs, and owners know that a wet canine can be a mess. Skoda is ready to tackle this problem with an umbrella for your mutt. Made from unobtainium, the gadget hides in the door when not in use, but when raindrops start falling, people can keep their pup dry. Skoda Snowman Skoda's Facebook page also teases us with a very cool vehicle. The Snowman is a 396-horsepower plug-in hybrid snow machine. With its tracks, the company's newest model would never have to worry about getting stuck in the winter. Opel Adam C Sure, electricity and hydrogen are cleaner forms of fuel than gasoline or diesel, but Opel has a way to make your car even more environmentally friendly – muscle power. Wind up the crank at the rear for 15 minutes, and the Opel Adam C is good for 125 miles. GM's European division also claims that owners get a great workout because a full winding session burns 400 calories. You wouldn't feel guilty about picking up that pizza after cranking up this hatchback.

Nissan IDx future in a coma, prospects dim

Fri, May 22 2015

The answer, at least for the public, was always a huge "Yes!" when it came to the Nissan IDx Nismo and IDx Freeflow concepts shown off at the Tokyo Motor Show 2013. We were told they were "in the plan" for production if fans got behind them, but that sunk to "increasingly cloudy" plans for production. Two months later we were being told the production version would get less retro styling. But the damning swerve came in January this year, when Nissan said it was shifting priorities to focus on volume offerings. When The Truth About Cars spoke to the VP of product planning for Nissan North America, Pierre Loing, the smothering blanket of reality was thrown over the IDx duo: Nissan has no small, rear-wheel platform to build them on. At least, not one that it could make any money with. The 370Z is built on an architecture too big for the IDx, and sister company Renault only has small front-wheel-drive platforms. The idea of developing a chassis just for the IDx doesn't make any sense, as sales trends for the Scion FR-S and Subaru BRZ should show. Will we see anything of the concepts in production guise, then? Loing said Nissan "may have some room" for a product with retro design cues and said to check back "in a few years" to get a final answer. But really, the answer appears to be, "No."
