Nissan buys jalopy Maxima after seeing filmmaker's epic sales ad

When Luke Akers wanted to sell his 1996 Nissan Maxima GLE - yes, the one seen above that needs a ratchet strap to keep the front end from bursting with joy - the Florida filmmaker turned on his cameras and yelled "Quiet on set!" The result is a one-minute videographic homage to mankind's monuments, narrated with all the intensity of a BBC documentary to sell a 17-year-old sports sedan that comes "fully loaded with an engine, wheels, tires and an automatic transmission."
Just like the car in question, the ad did its job: Nissan bought the Maxima from Akers and the company donated another $1,000 to his charity of choice. Nissan tries to Sway us with video teaser

Nissan is about to unveil the Sway concept at the 2015 Geneva Motor Show this week, but before it does, it's released this teaser clip to give us a better idea of what to expect. Previewed in a teaser image released last week, the Sway concept is the Japanese automaker's proposal to replace its Micra/March hatchback with something a bit more dynamic. It's said to borrow from the success of the Juke and Qashqai crossovers to give the new European-market Pulsar hatchback a baby brother. It's still a bit early to draw conclusions on the design and its prospects for production, but from what we can tell from this video clip, it looks promising. Watch this space for more. Nissan's Venucia brand bringing slick concept to Shanghai

Nissan and Chinese partner Dongfeng operate a joint venture for low-cost models named Venucia that's likely best known for its small EV called the E30, based on the Leaf. At the 2015 Shanghai Motor Show, the brand is unveiling a concept that shows being cheap doesn't have to mean lacking style. While attractive, the design for the Venucia concept in this teaser is actually somewhat deceiving. At first, the car looks like a stylish four-door coupe with a fastback roof running down the back. However, the model actually has a somewhat taller ride height, and the sketch might really portend a swoopy crossover similar to the BMW X6 or Mercedes-Benz GLE-Class Coupe. The odd proportions are definitely going to make seeing this vehicle in the real world quite interesting. According to Indian Autos Blog, Venucia has not revealed a powertrain or even a name for its concept yet, but the production version would probably ride on a Nissan platform like many of the brand's other models. Thankfully, all of the unresolved details about this mysterious vehicle should be sorted out soon because the Shanghai show begins on April 20.
