1991 Nissan 300zx Twin Turbo - Aztec Red, 5 Speed, Very Clean on 2040-cars
Scottsdale, Arizona, United States
This car has been under my care for the last 15 years. It has been garaged and pampered its entire life.
The car has gone through many tasteful and well thought out modifications over the years. On the outside, it looks close to stock. The taillights are JSPEC, the exhaust has been upgraded to Greddy Power Extreme, I have a Kaminari lip spoiler that I will include with the car as well ($500 new). Under the hood - well that's a different story altogether.... This Z has 500+HP under the hood. Everything I could get my hands on has been polished, chromed, and painted in the engine compartment. Modifications to the Z include: Performance: JWT Dual Pop Intake Greddy PE Exhaust Custom 3" Test Pipes Greddy TD-05 Turbos 16g Greddy Strengthened Tubular Exhaust Manifolds Greddy Type-S external Wastegates Greddy Down Pipes Greddy Aluminum Intercooler Piping Greddy 1.4mm Metal Headgaskets Unorthadox Racing Pulley Stillen Intercoolers Stillen Intercooler Ducts Nismo 555cc Injectors ApexI AVCR Boost Controller JWT ECU w/555cc and Dual Pop Cusco Oil Catch Can Aeromotive Adjustable FPR SX Billet Fuel Filter -6 AN SS Fuel Lines w/ Earl's Fittings HKS Super Sequential BOV's Koyo Radiator w/ CZP Bracket Ported/Tweaked Throttle Bodies Gasket Matched Plenum to Lower Intake Manifold Polished exhaust ports on heads Stock Internals Looks: HKS Hard Pipe Kit Hose Techniques "Super Red" hose kit Polished Plenum, Water Pipes, CAS, Throttle Bodies, Cruise Control Chromed PS Resevior, Battery Bracket, Radiator Supports Red Powder Coated Valve Covers, Balance Tube, Bolts, Misc Brackets JSPEC Taillights JSPEC Red Rear Center Panel Red Painted Calipers Red Painted Timing Belt Covers, Fan Shroud, Throttle Cover, HICAS Blue Xenon bulbs all around Rims/Tires: Stock Rims with BFG G-Force KDW tires Driveline/Suspension: JWT Extreme Duty Clutch SPL Urethane Transmission Mount SPL SS Clutchline Greg Dupreee Subframe Spacers Misc: Hella Air Horns 60mm ApexI EL Boost Gauge w/single pod Two 52mm Greddy white faced EGT gauges Exide Orbital Red Top Marine Duty Battery JWT Low Speed Drivability Kit NGK PFR7B-11B Spark Plugs Sound: Pioneer DEH-P4000 Head Unit Pioneer DEQ-7000 Graphical Equalizer Kenwood 848 4 channel 200 watt amplifier (powering the highs) Rockford Fosgate 500a2 Amp (powering the lows) 2 Rockford Fosgate 10" XLC Woofers Pioneer Speakers in all the stock locations Rockford Fosgate Cabling Custom Stereo Enclosures w/Fiber Fill Fluids: Redline MT-90 Transmission Fluid Redline Rear Differential Oil Redline Water Wetter A/C needs to be recharged. Nissan expands Altima hood latch recall to 625k cars
Fri, Mar 6 2015Nissan is tacking on 2014 and 2015 models to its October recall of the 2013 Altima sedan. In that case, 220,000 vehicles were recalled due to a problem with the car's secondary hood latch. It's the same story this time around, as 625,000 vehicles, ranging from model years 2013 to 2015, are being recalled. As with the October recall, the secondary hood latch may not be secure, even if the hood appears closed. That increases the chances of the hood flying up while the vehicle is in motion. Of course, the primary release needs to be triggered for that to happen. Provided that doesn't happen, there's not a tremendous degree of danger. That said, the lack of the redundant safety feature is enough to warrant the recall. According to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration bulletin, Nissan hasn't released a plan for repairing the vehicles. Owners, though, can reach out to customer service for additional details. The number is available below. Report Receipt Date: FEB 27, 2015 NHTSA Campaign Number: 15V116000 Component(s): LATCHES/LOCKS/LINKAGES Potential Number of Units Affected: 625,000 Manufacturer: Nissan North America, Inc. SUMMARY: Nissan North America, Inc. (Nissan) is recalling certain model year 2013-2015 Nissan Altima vehicles manufactured March 1, 2013, to December 31, 2014. In the affected vehicles, the secondary hood latch may bind and remain in the unlatched position when the hood is closed. CONSEQUENCE: If the primary latch is inadvertently released and the secondary latch is not engaged, the hood could unexpectedly open while driving, increasing the risk of a vehicle crash. REMEDY: A remedy plan or a notification schedule has not yet been determined. Owners may contact Nissan customer service at 1-800-647-7261. Note: This recall is an expansion of recall 14V-565. NOTES: Owners may also contact the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration Vehicle Safety Hotline at 1-888-327-4236 (TTY 1-800-424-9153), or go to www.safercar.gov.
Nissan settles with FTC over misleading dune buggy ad [w/videos]
Fri, 24 Jan 2014A couple years ago, Nissan created a series of commercials for its compact Frontier pickup showing the truck performing outlandish stunts such as snowboarding, saving a passenger airplane from a crash landing and climbing a steep sand dune to help a stranded dune buggy. As crazy as the first two commercials were, the Federal Trade Commission (FTC) took issue with the latter, titled Hill Climb, with the agency considering it to be a misleading commercial since both vehicles required a cable to reach the top of the steep dune.
As such, Ad Age is reporting that Nissan - and its ad agency TBWA Worldwide - has settled with the FTC over the ad despite the fact that it features a disclaimer stating: "Fictionalization. Do not attempt." Nissan did not have to pay out any money in the settlement, but it is prohibited "from using potentially misleading demonstrations in future advertisements for pickups." In addition to the offending commercial, posted below, we've included some of the other related videos from the same Frontier campaign.
The Nissan Patrol may become America's next Armada
Thu, Feb 4 2016Plausible rumors are swirling that the Nissan Patrol, the Land Cruiser rival sold outside of North America, might come to the US as a replacement for the unrelated Nissan Armada. That large SUV's future was left ambiguous after the news of the Xterra's discontinuation, as Nissan's press release ominously promised information on the Armada "at a later date" without further elaboration. That left us scratching our heads and thinking that, perhaps, it would be quietly killed off in the future. If the rumors are true, it will be. And then it will be reborn. It'll join its old platform-mate, the Infiniti QX80, on the Patrol platform. The QX abandoned its Titan-based platform in 2011, becoming the Patrol-based QX80. So you can think of the Armada as catching up, a few years late. The QX80 was refreshed last year, a mainly cosmetic nip-and-tuck. The Infiniti utilizes the 5.6-liter, 400-hp V8 and a 7-speed auto, so it's a safe bet that this powertrain will make it into the Armada version. Less likely, but plausible, would be the availability of the new powertrains intended for the Titan XD and upcoming lower-grade Titans. The massive SUV market tends to be a bit conservative, so the Cummins diesel V8 that's the sole engine in the Titan XD right now seems unlikely. The forums are abuzz with a photo of what's purported to be a leaked marketing image of the new Armada, so head to this TitanXDForum thread if you'd like to see what that's about. (Spoiler: it looks a lot like the Patrol above, minus some of the Nismo flair.) Related Video:
