1980 Datsun 280zx on 2040-cars
Newbury Park, California, United States
1980 Datsun 280ZX Where do you find yourself a one owner, real 26,867 miles, and with original paint that looks like your standing back in 1980? Well….this is it, you’re looking at it!! Truly in amazing condition that you want to say it’s almost too good to be true. But, there is no exaggeration in this description, just an amazing time capsule of quality. If you’ve been looking for that collector car with all of the integrity of great preservation, these pictures do tell the story.
This is a California car that’s been garaged, serviced, and runs and drives just how it looks. The interior is so fresh, with beautiful original carpet, original seats, just a small hairline crack on the dash. It starts right up and purrs. Then you shift into gear, on your way and you can feel how tight the steering and suspension responds. Go ahead and open the rear hatchback and it stays up, no leaky absorbers. Please look through the pictures and you’ll be shocked to see what a real original 1980 Datsun 280ZX can still look like after 34 years!! If you decide this car’s for you, and you need more pictures, I can email you. The winning bidder will need to, within 24hrs, pay a $500.00 deposit. The remaining balance to be paid within 5 days. The car is described as said, but I do not warrant the car, and the buyer may have it inspected prior to final sale. The sale is “as-is” and there is no refund after the final sale. |

Nissan Pathfinder, Infiniti JX in transmission safety probe
Thu, 05 Sep 2013Nissan may be forced to recall 110,000 Pathfinder and Infiniti JX35 crossovers, due to a number of customer complaints. Consumers report suddenly losing power, with repair facilities blaming the issue on faulty transmission cooler line connections. Both the Pathfinder and JX35 use a continuously variable transmission. As of right now, the only vehicles being investigated are from model year 2013.
Nissan has been cooperating with the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration, according to a report from Reuters, and it has developed a fix for the affected vehicles. It's not clear whether this will develop into a full-blown recall, as there have been no known cases of injuries or crashes. But with a potential 110,000 vehicles prone to sudden power loss, a recall seems to be a likely outcome.
Club to restore amazeballs Datsun Safari Rally Z
Sun, 15 Sep 2013Thanks to the Nissan Restoration Club, a legendary rally car is coming back to life. At the recent Nissan 360 media event, the Japanese automaker announced that its restoration club is bringing the Safari Rally Z back to original running condition. A variant of the Fairlady Z (or Datsun 240Z in the US), the Safari Rally Z has a fastback coupe body and a 215-horsepower inline-six engine. It won East African Safari Rally championships in both 1971 and 1973. The restoration is scheduled for completion this December.
Formed in 2006, Nissan's Restoration Club is comprised of 60 volunteer members who are passionate about Nissan's historic racecars. The club's past restoration projects include the 1964 Skyline racecar and 1947 Tama electric vehicle. Read the press release below for all the details on the latest restoration, and check out the gallery for photos of the Safari Rally Z as well as the 1972 Fairlady 240Z.
Nissan Altima and Sentra to get Murano-inspired design redo
Tue, 07 Oct 2014The Nissan Altima and Sentra sedans are both very competent, economical, comfortable and well-equipped ways of getting from A to B. They're also both decidedly boring to look at, which is not a good trait in their increasingly style-driven segments.
To rectify this, Nissan is planning design overhauls for its mainstream, with the Sentra adopting the sportier, Euro-style looks of the Pulsar, according to The Car Connection. While that (sadly) won't mean the five-door Pulsar will come to the US market, fitting the European stylings to the Sentra should go a long way towards broadening the car's appeal.
That parcel of information comes from Nissan design boss Shiro Nakamura, who spoke to The Car Connection at last week's Paris Motor Show.
