1989 Nissan 240sx, Sr20det,clean, Low Mileage, 2 Owner Car. on 2040-cars
Salt Lake City, Utah, United States
For Sale is my 1989 Nissan 240sx
Hatchback. This car is very clean, fast, well built, and well maintained. I am the proud second owner of this car, which now has
120,000 miles on the chassis, and around 80,000 miles on the drivetrain. I purchased this car in December of 2006 from the original owner. It
has been garage kept its entire life, and is completely rust free. The
paint was PermaPlated by the original owner as a dealership option. This
has helped in keeping the original paint looking like new, along with
frequent washes and waxes. Interior is original, and in great shape. This
was a weekend driver, so I avoided driving in any harsh weather such as
snow or heavy rain. The SR20DET engine and
transmission were put in when the car reached 90,000 miles in June of
2012. The engine set, as well as most the of the parts, were purchased from
Enjuku Racing. The engine has always run on fully synthetic oils, Castrol Edge 10W-40 is currently in it, along with Redline MT-90 in the transmission. The clutch, coilovers, tie rod ends, lower control arms, ball joints, turbo
manifold & gaskets, turbo elbow, downpipe, coldpipe, intercooler, tires,
valve cover gasket, and exhaust were all installed new within the last 2
months. Alignment was also performed, settings: 2.5 degrees negative camber in the front, 1.5 in the rear, 0 toe all around. All tuning has been done at element racing in
Ogden Utah. The SR20DET is currently tuned to approximately 300whp and 275 ft*lb of torque on 12psi of boost. The dyno chart is pictured.
The car is using a Nismotronic ECU (software similar to neptune), and has been
converted to use a MAP sensor instead of MAF. The electronic boost
controller is ECU controlled, as well as 2-step launch control / anti-lag. Changes to these settings can be easily made on a laptop by downloading the Nismotronic demo-software (free).
Note that boost pressure is set to 12psi at my elevation of 3500ft in
Utah. I drove the car on a vacation to Illinois and back this August with no problems. As a benchmark, at 500ft
above sea level boost pressure was reading around 18psi. This car was built with genuine brand name quality parts such as Garrett, HKS, Tomei, and AEM. No expense was spared on parts and tuning, and the result has been both performance and reliability. You will love this car!

Nissan's new GT-R boss says next car will go for more volume
Mon, 07 Oct 2013Since its introduction in 2008, the Nissan GT-R has seen a steady increase of power and price almost every year, but the big news for the next-gen supercar might be an increase in production. Automotive News recently spoke with newly appointed GT-R chief engineer Kinishi Tanuma who said Nissan needs "more of a volume car." Nissan has sold a little more than 2,000 GT-Rs in the US since 2012 - 1,188 last year and 952 so far this year.
Of course, a key limiting factor in the GT-R's production is its hand-built engine. Currently, only four people are qualified to build the GT-R's twin-turbo V6, but Tanuma says a fifth is in training. Even if production numbers are raised, Nissan also wants to add more quality and value into the GT-R. There is still no word as to what kind of timeframe Nissan is looking to start pumping out more GT-Rs, but with a new Nismo model rumored to be bringing a two-second 0-60 time, demand is sure to be on the rise.
Mercedes was set to sell version of Nissan Titan, now Infiniti might instead
Wed, 18 Sep 2013Mercedes-Benz Titan. Mercedes-Benz Frontier. Mercedes-Benz pickup truck. None of these things roll off the tongue particularly well. We'd like to think that's the reason Daimler opted to kill the idea of rebadged Titan and Frontier pickups from corporate ally Nissan. In reality, the execution before the Frankfurt Motor Show was due to more complicated issues.
Yes, Mercedes, byword for German luxury, style and quality, would have slapped a three-pointed star on a pair of Japanese pickup trucks that have failed to resonate with consumers in the world's largest truck market. That slapping of badges isn't much of an exaggeration, at least on the outside. According to the report from Road & Track, the truck's front clip would have been tweaked, but beyond that, the sheetmetal would have been unchanged. The interior would have received a more thorough going-over by the team at Mercedes, while the suspension and noise, vibration and harshness tuning would have also received significant attention.
The trucks would have ended up being sold through the light-commercial branch of Mercedes-Benz - the same folks that will happily sell you a Sprinter van - had the deal gone through. Issues arose, though, first with the engines. Mercedes wanted a wider range of powertrains to allow it to tune models for specific markets, while Nissan said it couldn't engineer the wide variety of engines that MB wanted to drop under the hood. For the smaller truck, meanwhile, MB was interested in a hybrid or plug-in variant, according to R&T, although this was also shot down by Nissan.
Nissan GT-R Nismo 'Ring time makes it track's 'fastest volume production car' [w/video]
Tue, 19 Nov 2013Performance cars are fun to drive and all, but at the end of the day ,owners drop big bucks on what are often ridiculously unpractical vehicles for the bragging rights. And when it comes to ultimate bragging rights, few get more publicized than lap times for everyone's favorite stretch of German pavement, the Nürburgring. Enter the 2015 Nissan GT-R Nismo.
After rumors about a 7:08 lap time appeared yesterday, Nissan confirmed has confirmed the news today with video footage of the run, which took place on September 30. The official lap time is just seven minutes and 8.679 seconds, putting the GT-R Nismo about 11 seconds off the pace of the Porsche 918 Spyder - some six seconds quicker than the far costlier Lexus LFA. Some admitted - but hard-to-spot - missteps by Nissan driver Michael Krumm would indicate that the car actually left some time on the table.
With this time, Nissan claims that the 595-horsepower GT-R Nismo is the "fastest volume production car" around the track. The definition of "volume" could surely be contested here, though, considering the small numbers in which the GT-R is sold. While we don't have global GT-R sales figures, this year has only seen 1,063 units sold through October, and there were close to 1,300 sold in all of 2011 and about 1,200 in 2012. While this loosely defined claim will only add to the Nürburgring lap time squabbling, it is no less impressive. Check out the record run for yourself in the video below, which is accompanied by an official press release.
