2005 Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution Rs Sedan 4-door 2.0l on 2040-cars
Morrisville, Pennsylvania, United States
Up for sale is my 2005 Evo 8. Please read this BEFORE bidding!! This car is heavily modified. The engine is a 2.3L stroked motor which has recently failed. I have not torn down the engine yet, and so far the best guess is that the engine has a spun bearing and needs work. Other than this issue, the car has been redone in the past 6 months. The car went through an engine overhaul prior to this failure which included the following:
ACL Race Rod Bearings ACL Race Main Bearings Wiseco HD 2.3 stroker pistons Manley Turbo Tuff I beam stroker lightweight rods New OEM squirters New OEM Freeze plugs New OEM Engine gasket kit Power enterprise coated stopper head gasket New ACT 6 puck sprung clutch The engine was recently machined- bore, hone, align, degreased. Head was rebuilt with the following: New GSC R2 stroker cames Head rebuild, degrease, valve job, new valve seals and valve springs MAP Ultimate Duty Springs and Retainers. Aside from this, the car has the following mods- Forced Performance Black Turbo w/25psi wastegate FP Intake Turbo Trix Stage 2 Trans JNZ Tuning Transfer case and Rear AMS Race Intercooler AMS Intercooler Pipes Aeromotive 340lph fuel pump FIC 1000cc injectors FIC Race Fuel Rail Ported and polished intake manifold Ported throttle body Mishimoto radiator DNP turbo manifold Megan 02 housing HKS SSQV Blow off valve JM Fab Oil Catch Can Stainless steel upper and lower clutch lines Car has new (within 1300 Miles) brakes pads and rotors (Girodisc Magic Pads F/R, Rotorpros Performance Rotors F/R) Techna-fit Stainless steel brake lines. New BFG KDW tires. This car has been tuned for speed density, and has a dual map setup for fuel. One tune is for 93 octane and the other is for C16. There is a switch in the glove box, when race fuel is engaged, there is a light in the center of the dash to signal you are on the race map. This car has the SSL package with the leather seats. The sunroof is disabled due to a bad track. This was quoted for replacement by the local dealership at $125 repair. The car also has newly installed stock HID Bulbs. The car only runs Brad Penn Oil. I switch between the heavier and lighter oils for summer and winter. Currently the car has been running race gas only (C16) I am sure there are modifications I am missing, but I do have about 90% of the original receipts for the car. This car has been recently on the dyno and on lower boost it made over 550awhp. The injectors cannot handle much more and were slated to be replaced before the motor spun a bearing. This car can be fixed up, and back on the road with over 600hp once the new injectors are installed and re-tuned. I have no time for this project and want this thing gone ASAP. If there is an questions please message me and I will do my best to answer as soon as I can. |

2023 Japan Mobility Show Editors' Picks
Tue, Oct 31 2023No, it's no longer called the Tokyo Motor Show, but the Japan Mobility Show is still in Tokyo and it still has to do with motors. In fact, with the rise of EVs, it's more of a motor show than ever before. And there were an astounding number of motors (and engines) to see, or at least concepts that hypothetically have them. Truly, we haven't seen a turnout this amazing since before the pandemic. As such, the 2023 Japan Mobility Show featured plenty of machines that could, and did, snag points from our editors. And yet, even with the massive field, one car, unequivocally, stole our hearts. Read on to see our favorites.  Toyota Land Cruiser Se concept View 4 Photos 5. (Tie) Toyota Land Cruiser Se While this concept is not quite the off-roader that the Land Cruiser is known to be, a street-focused electric SUV seems like a fine fit for the Toyota portfolio. It's hard to imagine we won't see an electric Land Cruiser come to production one day, filling out that as-yet underrepresented three-row EV segment. Give us an even more rugged version, and we'll be happy — Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder  Subaru Sport Mobility Concept View 7 Photos 5. (Tie) Subaru Sport Mobility I'm still waiting for a fun, electric sport coupe, and as much as I enjoy the likes of the rear-drive BRZ, I could have some serious fun in something like this all-wheel-drive Subaru Sport Mobility year round. I could fill that hole in my heart left by my '04 WRX. — Senior Editor, Green, John Beltz Snyder  Toyota EPU concept View 4 Photos 4. Toyota EPU You know what I like? Useful, funky little vehicles. The Ford Maverick and Hyundai Santa Cruz fit that bill well, and it seems a lot of other people like them, too, based on demand. You know what I also like? EVs. You know what combines those two things? The Toyota EPU. Assuming it was priced fairly reasonably (well below $40,000 is what I'm thinking), I would seriously be looking at getting one. I also seriously hope that Toyota's seriously looking at launching this, because it seems like a seriously great package. Seriously. — News Editor Joel Stocksdale  Mitsubishi D:X Concept View 8 Photos 3. Mitsubishi D:X Concept We sure do wish Mitsubishi sold the Delica here in the United States. We've long been fans of the van, which initially was sold in rear-wheel-drive form but adopted four-wheel drive in the early 1980s, and judging by the numbers we see imported to the States, we're not the only ones.
Mitsubishi Pajero successor still years away, but plug-in hybrid tech likely
Sun, 10 Mar 2013You might not know it from looking at today's Mitsubishi showrooms, but the struggling Japanese automaker has a pretty enviable reputation for producing robust off-roaders. Its Pajero SUV built a solid reputation worldwide on the back of its durability in harsh climates, earning it consideration alongside the likes of venerable explorers like the Toyota Land Cruiser and Land Rover Range Rover. Unfortunately, the Pajero eventually succumbed to one particularly harsh climate - the North American truck market. After enjoying a long run, Mitsubishi finally pulled the plug on the SUV's Montero twin after the 2006 model year. Blame evolving consumer tastes, low brand visibility, a lackluster marketing budget, or the need for updated product - in fact, go ahead and blame all of the above.
Despite its age, the current fourth-generation Pajero (itself arguably an extensive rework of the previous model) has been carrying a lot of water for the brand in other parts of the world since its debut in 2006. So it's pretty well time for a new one. Problem is, its replacement is still a ways off. That's according to Australia's Go Auto, which has learned that the next-generation Pajero could still be three years away, if not longer.
According to Go Auto, the next model will be a much-changed beast, with design targets including a major weight loss and increased efficiency to go along with more luxurious appointments. In order to make gains in fuel economy, the plug-in hybrid technology that the company has already introduced for its new Outlander crossover will likely be a part of the SUV's development program.
Mitsubishi Europe boss says two new PHEV crossovers due next year
Tue, Dec 31 2019In an interview with Automotive News Europe, Mitsubishi's European CEO Bernard Loire told the publication, "In the second half of next year we will have a replacement of the current Outlander. It will be on an alliance platform. There also will be another smaller SUV coming at the same time." The statements came in response to a question about expanding the automaker's plug-in hybrid lineup, leading readers to expect that by this time next year, Mitsubishi will have two crossover PHEVs on the market. The current Outlander has been on the market since late 2012, the plug-in hybrid showing for the 2014 model year. We've already seen fairly polished versions of fourth-generation Outlander prototypes out testing, sporting looks inspired by the Engelberg Tourer concept revealed at this year's Geneva Motor Show. Some suspect the 2.0-liter four-cylinder in the current PHEV powertrain will make way for a 2.4-liter mill as in the Engelberg, paired with high-efficiency motors on both axles. The show car also touted features like all-wheel drive improved with active yaw control and enhanced anti-lock braking software. Figure on an EV range that improves the current Outlander PHEV's 22 miles, going perhaps as far as the Engelberg's 43 miles. Loire didn't give away anything about the second model, but an Autocar report from earlier this year quoted "a senior source" as saying "We will not have a unique nameplate" for the second battery-electric vehicle. The magazine said the Eclipse Cross and Outlander Sport are in line for series hybrid powertrains, without indicating which might come first. Loire told AN the brand's doing fine with respect to Europe's coming CO2 legislation, so it doesn't need to make rash moves. With the Eclipse Cross forming 20% of sales on the Continent, the middle crossover would be a rational choice for the next plug-in hybrid, especially since it's retiring the 2.2-liter diesel option around the end of 2020. On the other hand, the Outlander Sport will be 10 years old next year, a replacement can't be far away. The new plug-ins come with the realignment of Mitsubishi's crossover range. The Outlander, sitting on a new architecture shared among the Renault-Nissan-Mitsubishi alliance, will grow into a proper mid-size choice; the prototype spotted in Michigan is clearly larger than the current vehicle.
