Let me start off by saying this is not your average Evolution. This is a collectors car and I hope the next owner treats it as such. This is truly, a very rare car in its own right.
This is a gorgeous Apex Silver Evolution 8. You will not find an Evo 8 like this anywhere in the country. This car has been in not one condition other than sunny skys. Has never been rained on, in a dust storm, nothing. Its been a CA and AZ car its whole life and has lived in a garage its entirety so you have no rust issues to worry about either. Never abused and to be honest it has never been down a track or even ripped out of the hole for that matter, Not once! When I modded this car I wanted to keep its value intact, and that means no motor builds, no outrageous interior/exterior modifications etc.. Modifications: Motor: HKS Racing Suction Intake Synapse BOV with Re-Circ GSC Beehive Springs and Retainers GSC S2 272/272 Cams ARP Head Studs Vishnu Cam Gears FP Red JB Turbo Precision 1200cc Injectors Walbro 400lph Fuel Pump ETS Intercooler ETS Lower Intercooler pipe ETS Upper Intercooler pipes Tomei Expreme Titanium Cat-back Exhaust Gruppe S-Boost solenoid Invidia 02 Housing Invidia Test Pipe Ported Exhaust Manifold Ported Intake Manifold Ported FP Red Turbine Housing Ported Invidia 02 Housing AMS lower Front Motor Mount NGK Cold Plugs MAP Exhaust Heat Shield and bolts Zaklee Corp Clear Cam Cover Aluminum Boost Pill Redline Shockproof in all Drivetrains Brad Penn Motoroil replaced every 6 months regardless of miles Tein S-Tech Springs Optima Red Top(Installed 4 months ago) Still have the original battery! Of course it is a conservative tune but I want a healthy motor with no risks. Next owner can do as he pleases with the numbers. Final edition Mitsubishi Evo X arrives next June as 5MT GSR
Sat, Nov 29 2014Jalopnik recenly held an online Q&A session with Don Swearingen, an executive vice president at Mitsubishi Motors North America. If you're into Mitsu you should peruse the whole thread because questioners jumped all over the subject map, asking about getting the Delica here (not going to happen) and a new Montero (another concept presaging production is coming to the Chicago Auto Show next year), the company's fleet vehicle stance (they kill residuals, Mitsu isn't interested), and a Mirage racing series (right now it doesn't make sense). But for any enthusiast, every question not dealing with a new Lancer Evolution XI is merely a side dish. On that note, Swearingen took his turn ringing the death knell for the Evo series, saying "There are currently no plans for an Evo XI," which is kinder than his words at the LA Auto Show when he told Motor Trend, "Its time has come and gone." Nevertheless, he gave us a few more details on the final edition Evo Special Action Model that Automotive News reported on three months ago: it will be a GSR five-speed with "More horsepower, some suspension tuning, and some bits pieces that are still being finalized. Around 2,000 units will be available." Those of you hoping for a spiffier interior or a massive curb weight diet won't take much solace from that, but the 2,000 or so buyers who get to drive the hommage to The Once and Future King probably won't mind.
Renault will split EV from combustion unit, seeks partnerships
Wed, May 25 2022PARIS — Renault has received several partnership proposals for the combustion engine unit it plans to create alongside one dedicated to electric vehicles and software, two sources familiar with the matter said. Renault plans to separate its electric and conventional car businesses, creating two entities to manage the shift towards fossil-free vehicles. "The group has already received partnership demands" for its internal combustion engine unit, one of the sources said. By bringing in partners on the combustion engine side Renault aims to free up funds to invest in electric vehicles, a technology in which it was a pioneer with Nissan and Mitsubishi, but in which it is now eclipsed by pure players such as Tesla. Renault intends to retain majority ownership of its electric division, which will employ about 10,000 people and which could be bourse-listed via an IPO in the second half of 2023. However, it will only remain a reference shareholder, not a controlling shareholder, of the combustion engine unit, which will have similar staff levels, said two other sources familiar with the plans. One of the sources said Renault may hang on to a 40% stake. Renault declined to comment. The carmaker at a capital market day this autumn will set out its plans for its electric arm based in France and the combustion unit headquartered abroad. That entity will include factories producing engines and gear boxes for gasoline and hybrid cars in Spain, Portugal, Turkey, Romania and Latin America. Among potential partners for its combustion engine business, CEO Luca de Meo in April mentioned Nissan, other automotive groups and long-term investors. De Meo is set to travel to Japan next month to discuss potential Japanese participation in its electric and combustion engine projects. Renault is undergoing a major restructuring aimed at restoring its finances and recently signed partnerships beyond its historical alliances with Nissan, Mitsubishi and Mercedes, such as with China's Geely Automobile Holdings. This month it sold 34% of its South Korean unit to Geely, which owns Volvo Cars and is a shareholder in Mercedes. With Geely, Renault plans to develop hybrid vehicles which will be assembled in its plant in Busan, South Korea. Earnings/Financials Green Mitsubishi Nissan Renault
Mitsubishi CEO vows to stay in US on heels of Suzuki's departure
Wed, 07 Nov 2012By now, you're surely aware that Suzuki is pulling out of the US market. It was a bit of a foregone conclusion to most who've been paying attention to the automotive realm, but it still sent a small shockwave through the industry. And one of the most oft-heard retorts goes something like this: "Next up: Mitsubishi."
It's easy to understand why many question Mitsubishi's existence in the States. After all, now that Suzuki is gone, Mitsubishi is the Japanese automaker with the fewest sales in America. Furthermore, the automaker's market share has dropped from .7 percent to just .4 percent after seeing sales fall 29 percent to 50,103 units through October.
In any case, Mitsubishi fans needn't worry. Speaking to Automotive News, Mitsubishi President Osamu Masuko said, "We have no intention whatsoever of withdrawing from the US market." That's about as clear as clear can get. It's also worth mentioning that Gayu Uesugi was just named chairman of Mitsubishi Motors North America, and his main responsibility will be to revitalize the brand in the US.
