See more pics at http://s1240.photobucket.com/user/rocheman13/library/2002%20Mitsubishi%20Lancer%20OZ%20Rally  This is a beautiful car! I'm only selling due to the fact that my son started delivering pizza, and I won't let him do it in this car.  We have a beater Camry for that.  Some highlights... Car was always in Florida until last year.  Carfax/Autocheck is perfect, and available upon request.  Beautiful paint job is almost new. (dark spots on the pics are due to my goofy camera)  Ground effects kit added.  Carbon fiber hood wrap is only 6 mos old.  HID Headlights are super bright.  Carbon fiber side mirrors, Carbon fiber accents on door frames, all lights (excluding headlights) have been smoked and look great.  All windows are tinted.  Dark blue leather interior is almost flawless.  Entertainment system has 3 DVD screens, amp and subwoofer, and built-in iphone charger.  Hands-free phone, GPS, alarm system are installed. but needs some tweaking.  Ruff 18" wheels and Lexani 215/35ZR 18 tires are almost new.  I have maintenance records on the car.  Two new OEM wheel bearings, new front brake pads and rotors. (brake fluid flushed in '09) New rear 02 sensor.  (front 02 replaced in '09) New  oil and filter change.  Alignment is straight and true.  The 2.0L engine runs great, and the clutch and shifter perform flawlessly.  The timing belt, water pump, belts, hoses, camshaft seals, and plugs were replaced at 69k miles.  The injection system was also serviced at 69k.  A/C system was repaired in July of 2012, and works great.  CAT replaced in '08.  The ground effects kit and paint job alone are worth 3k minimum. Note: Your check will have to be made out to me and my credit union in order to pay off the existing lien and receive the title.

Mitsubishi recalling 2011 Outlander Sport over panoramic roofs that may fly off

Tue, 02 Jul 2013

The panoramic roof offered on the 2011 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport is a great way to make the cabin feel more open, but some owners of the compact CUV could get a little more openness than they bargained for. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration announced a recall for Outlander Sport models built between August 2010 and March 2011 due to the possibility that the panoramic roof could fly off.
On about 3,200 Outlander Sport models in the US and Puerto Rico, a potentially improper installation process could have resulted in a lack of adhesive primer between the glass and the roof, which could allow the glass to detach from the vehicle and become dangerous debris on the road. Fortunately, it sounds like there have only been two instances of detached roofs, and neither was in the US. As a fix, Mitsubishi dealers will check to make sure the primer was used, and if not, the glass will be reinstalled following the proper procedure. Scroll down for the official NHTSA recall notice.

Mitsubishi dealers would really like a truck to sell

Fri, Jan 6 2017

While Mitsubishi is switching gears to focus on crossovers, that won't address a market that its dealers would like to be in. While answering questions from the press last night, Don Swearingen, executive vice president and COO of Mitsubishi's North American office, mentioned that its US dealers have a pickup truck high on their "shopping lists." In fact, he said that a truck is pretty much at the top. Mitsubishi does already have a small pickup truck it sells in foreign markets, badged as the Triton or L200. However, Swearingen said that just because dealers want a truck doesn't mean it's going to happen, citing various obstacles to bringing one to market. If, for example, Mitsubishi brought over the Triton, the company would have to go through the long, expensive process of certifying it for US safety and emissions regulations, not to mention making sure it fulfilled American buyers' demands. There's also the Chicken Tax, which levees a steep tariff on trucks built outside of the US and imported in. One possible way Mitsubishi could circumvent all of those issues, though, would be to leverage its new partnership with Nissan. Nissan already sells Frontier small pickups in the US, and Mitsubishi could simply redesign that model to suit its style. It's something that both companies are familiar with as well. Mitsubishi previously sold a restyled Dodge Dakota as the Raider, and Nissan allowed Suzuki to rebrand the Frontier to be sold as the Equator for a short time. It would certainly be a quick way to get into the truck market. However, Mitsubishi would also need to decide if such a product would actually be profitable, in addition to satisfying dealers. Mitsubishi HQ raided by the Japanese government

Fri, Sep 2 2016

Mitsubishi's fuel economy scandal continues to grow, and the Japanese government wants answers. According to Reuters, the Japanese Transport Ministry raided the company's headquarters and a factory in Nagoya today. This raid comes soon after the company revealed that a number of its SUVs were also being sold with incorrect fuel economy ratings. The Japanese government issued a stop-sale on those vehicles a few days ago. This raid also follows an internal investigation conducted by Mitsubishi to discover how this fuel economy scandal happened, and how the practices that led to it were able to continue for 25 years. The internal investigation revealed a few contributing factors that all fell under issues with the company's culture. There was significant pressure throughout the company to reach fuel economy targets and missing them wasn't readily accepted. Questioning decisions of management was also discouraged, and it seemed the different divisions of the company weren't working well together. The findings of this raid have yet to be revealed, but it will be interesting to see how they compare with those of the internal investigation. The Japanese Transport Ministry seems intent on preventing a repeat of this with another company considering that, according to Reuters, it "sent documents to other automakers to enforce compliance with rules for calculating mileage ."
