1997 Mitsubishi Montero Sr Rear Locking Diferential on 2040-cars
Miami, Florida, United States
1997 Mitsubishi Montero SR
Good: I drove it every day for a year and it has been very good to me and my family, I had to replace the fuel pump, two ignition coils and rear brakes, previous owner had the timing belt and water pump replaced, I get about 19 mpg driving, plenty of space, I was planning to buy a 2.8L turbo diesel mitsubishi engine from a Japanese Montero/Pajero to swap but my dad offered me his VW Jetta TDI for free and with a 6 month old baby we are saving to hopefully buy a house and it is parked on the street, so Montero has to go. -Comes with the factory air locking differential or rear locker which I know is very desirable. -2" hitch with factory wiring 4,000 lbs towing capacity, 5,000 lbs with brake assist. -Auxiliary oil cooler -Auxiliary transmission cooler -V6 3.5 SOHC. -Fuel economy EPA highway (mpg): 19 and EPA city (mpg): 16 -24.3 gallon fuel tank -Power: 200 HP @ 5,000 rpm; 228 ft lb @ 3,500 rpm -4.636:1 axle ratio -All the original tools come with the truck, along with the owners manual and original window sticker. -I read that you can fit 33 inch tires with no lift and 35 inch tires with some trimming. -Air adjustable shocks work. -10 CD changer from factory works. -Clean FL tittle. Bad: -It is not new or perfect, the paint is faded on the hood and roof, it has scratches, dings and dents. -The interior is OK but the front seats are ripped with seat covers on top, mid row seats are showing some wear and stains, third row seats are ok. -The interior ceiling is in its places but it had some stains. -Sunroof works with a hand crank that came with the truck. -It runs but needs a tune up i think one cylinder is missing so it shakes when you drive, that happened before but when I replaced the ignition coils it was fixed and it worked perfectly, most likely is just that but I am not a mechanic so i do not know, you can inspect it if you want to. -It burns about 1quart of oil every 1,000 miles, my mechanic said this is very common because of the valve seals. If you have any questions, please let me know. Vehicle is located in Miami, FL 33181. Paypal. |

Mitsubishi pondering $2B share sale?
Sun, 15 Sep 2013Mitsubishi makes the brilliantly fast, wonderfully fun Lancer Evolution. Outside of that road-going rally car, the rest of the range is pretty poor - the new Outlander isn't bad, but the subcompact Mirage looks like might've been competitive five years ago, while the Galant and Lancer have suffered from serial neglect.
This hasn't just lead to rumors of Mitsu's death in America; the subsidiary of the massive Mitsubishi Group has been in trouble at home, too. It was bailed out by three other Mitsubishi Group companies - Mitsubishi UFJ Financial, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Mitsubishi Corporation - between 2004 and 2005, according to Bloomberg. Now, it's attempting to extricate itself from "emergency mode," as analyst Koichi Sugimoto told the financial site, adding that "they're still in the very early stages of recovery."
As part of the bailout, Mitsubishi issued its three saviors billions of dollars of preferred shares, which don't have voting rights. The problem is, Mitsubishi hasn't issued dividend payments since 1998, and these stocks aren't exactly competing with Apple or Google, in terms of value. In other words, they're mostly worthless. With a public offering, Mitsubishi is expecting to raise 200 billion yen, or about $2 billion, in order to reduce the number of preferred shares. If all goes according to plan, it will wipe out preferred shares by March of 2014, or the end of fiscal year 2013.
Mitsubishi readying Outlander refresh
Sat, 02 Aug 2014Mitsubishi has a big secret to keep under wraps when it comes to the looks of its refreshed Outlander crossover. Our spy shooters recently caught it testing in Germany, and the CUV had enough buckles, straps and snaps covering up the front end for the vehicle to fit in at an S&M party for cars. The rear was hidden just as thoroughly, too.
Given the areas that Mitsubishi's engineers are obscuring, it seems safe to assume that the Outlander is getting a heavily revised front end with redesigns for the grille, front bumper and possibly hood. The lights might be reshaped too, judging from these photos. The changes are just as hard to spot at the rear, but you can make out the shape of the taillights. They appear more rectangular than the current model, and the bumper looks more angular, as well.
This is likely our first glimpse of the of the major restyle for the Outlander that Mitsubishi execs told Autoblog about in July. The interior is also getting an update to improve interior material quality, we were told. The revisions are supposed to coincide with the launch of the PHEV model in the US at roughly the same time.
