Hello everyone! Please read this entire description so you don't miss the important details.  This is going to be a long story, but I believe in being truthful about the issue with this vehicle.  It is a 2004 Mitsubishi Endeavor LS AWD 4-Door Sport Utility Vehicle.  This is owned by my 77 year old father who purchased it pre-owned well over 5 years ago.  It has somewhere between 124,000 to 125,000 actual miles on it.  Back in February of this year, he had Cataract Surgery and unfortunately reacted adversely to his medication, found his keys and took this vehicle out and made it about 1/2 miile down the road and took out a barb wire fence.  Before this happened, the vehicle ran fine and was in pretty good condition with minor scuffs and scratches.  We also had just put almost $500 in brake work(new brakes/labor) put into this vehicle before this happened.  Ever since the accident we can't get the vehicle to start.  It might be an inertia switch but no one seems to have an answer or everyone seems to have a different answer!  We know it is not the battery because it can be charged since sitting and it still won't start.  My dad has decided to just get rid of it if he can and find something else because we price parts and they are just too high.  NOW to the body damage! I have pictures and am not sure if you can see them well. The major damage is the bumper, headlight, fender, driver door and there are pieces gone on the right top ski rack.  I believe other than that, there are scuffs and scratches.  Please don't hold me to it but I am looking at it right now and think that is accurate to say.  The tires have gone flat from it sitting since February as they were not flat when it was towed here.  The person who towed it left it on a slant and it has been hard really getting to it to do anything anyways.  I hope this all makes sense and I apologize for the long drawn out saga.  We hope someone will be interested in this.  If you have any questions PLEASE feel free to ask and I will do the best I can to answer them.  Before this vehicle was wrecked, I loved driving it.  It had some power and it was really nice as far as I am concerned.  I would think someone could fix this ans drive it however there are tons of parts on this vehicle that are very usable if you just need parts.  OH I FORGOT, the drivers side mirror was completely torn off and we could not find it.  As I said,  please don't hold me responsible for any mistakes as I have tried and will continue to try and give you accurate information.  Thank you!

2015 Mitsubishi Outlander Sport gets modest styling, powertrain enhancements

Fri, 13 Jun 2014

Mitsubishi sales continue to show progress in 2014. In fact, sales were up 54.17 percent in the US in May compared to last year. In hopes of keeping those numbers in the black, the Japanese automaker is introducing some mechanical upgrades to the Outlander Sport, its best-selling model, for the 2015 model year.
The biggest change for the 2015 Outlander Sport is its improved CVT that offers better fuel economy. Front-wheel-drive models with the upgraded CVT get an estimated improvement of 1 mile per gallon across the board to 25 mpg city, 32 mpg highway, and 28 mpg combined; all-wheel drive models get an estimated 1 mpg better on the highway and in the combined rating, bringing the numbers up to 24/30/27 mpg. Mitsubishi claims the new transmission is the equivalent of fitting the Outlander Sport with a seven-speed automatic. The five-speed manual is still also available on the front-wheel drive ES trim, rated at 24 mpg city and 30 mpg highway. All models also get electric power steering, and the company reports that the 2.0-liter four-cylinder engine is enhanced as well, but still makes the same 148 horsepower and 145 pound-feet of torque from last year.
The 2015 Outlander Sport also sees some very minor aesthetic improvements. The audio panel inside now has piano black and silver trim, and the SE trim comes with LED running lights. Also, the interior gets thicker glass in the side windows and more noise insulation for a quieter ride.

Long-serving Mitsubishi president Masuko to step aside

Fri, 31 Jan 2014

Long-struggling Mitsubishi Motors is reportedly preparing for a changing of the guard at home. According to Reuters, Osamu Masuko will step aside in favor of Tesuro Aikawa, currently the company's managing director. Masuko won't be leaving the fold entirely, however - he will take the role of chairman, displacing Takashi Nishioka, who will resign. The shakeup has not been confirmed by Mitsubishi, but word is that the changes will take effect April 1.
Mitsu's US troubles are no secret, but the brand's struggles in its home market haven't been quite so publicized. The company was bailed out by other arms of the Mitsubishi empire, and it just raised $2 billion this month to buy back preferred shares that were issued during the bailout. Masuko served as president for nearly ten years, during which the brand's US efforts utterly stalled out, recalls cropped up in Japan and an alliance with Daimler (which was DaimlerChrysler at the time) disintegrated.
According to Reuters, establishing the kind of alliances that will allow the brand to grow, such as its tie-up with Renault-Nissan, are key to Mitsu's long-term success. The thought is that an alliance will allow the brand to come up with some innovative models that won't be compromised by its lack of production scale. It looks like Aikawa has his work cut out for him.

Limited-edition Mitsubishi 311RS Evo X coming to Minneapolis Auto Show [w/video]

Fri, 08 Mar 2013

It's not terribly often that we have news to report coming out ahead of the Minneapolis Auto Show. We say that not to disparage the Twin Cities, which are lovely, but new product reveals are few and far between for the show. This year, however, it seems that event will play host to the debut of a rather special limited edition Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution X. Though not coming directly from the Mitsu factory, we think the 311RS shows loads of potential for Evo fanatics.
The 311RS is the brainchild of circuit racer Ryan Gates, who has apparently spent the last three years developing what he believes is an Evo perfect for both racing and road driving. Starting life as a bog-standard Evo X, the Gates team has swapped out the factory intake, intercooler and exhaust system for more potent AMS pieces; resulting in output figures of 353 horsepower and nearly 359 pound-feet of torque. A new suspension from JRZ, brakes from Girodisc and 18-inch custom Rays wheels shod with high-performance Nitto tires represent significant updates to the underpinnings, as well.
Of course, the 311RS is also rocking a full body kit, too, with a more aggressive front air dam and a subtle lip added on to the stock rear wing. The blue and white racing livery, with matching blue wheels, looks racy without being too childish, we think.
