Mitsubishi Eclipse Spyder GTS - Garage Kept - CAR IS IN SAFE MODE I purchased this car from a local dealer when the mileage was just 40,000 as my personal car. I used it mainly to go back and forth to work which was only 8 miles from my home, hence the still low miles of only 70,556. It has been loved, cared for and driven with the utmost respect by me only since I purchased it. It has NEVER been run hard or abused in any way while in my care!!! About 2 years ago I bought a truck and retired the car to the garage for the most part, other than the occasional week end ride. Then one day I went to go for a ride and low and behold it went into "Safe Mode." My husband replaced several sensors thinking one of them was the issue with no success. Other than being in safe mode (means that all the electronics have been shut down to the transmission as a safety feature to keep it from sustaining damage) this car is still in extra nice condition. The motor runs well with no problems at all and the transmission is still in great condition if you can figure out which component has gone simple that is. The exterior is still beautiful and shiny with only a few small dings here and there, nothing bad enough to note specifically. The interior is also in extra nice condition with no rips or tears in the leather seats, it has a 6 cd changer, all the extras this model came out with and power everything. The dash has cracked (defect) as it did on all these cars of this year and the lining on the interior of the top is loose around the rear window. Various minor, normal signs of use. None severe. The convertible top is in very good working condition. Overall a great car in very nice condition. If you're a mechanic or mechanically inclined this car is perfect for you. It don't believe it will require much money to fix if you can do it yourself but it will require a knowledgeable mechanic. Fluids changed regularly, all maintenance requirements were met or exceeded. Includes the original top cover for when the top is down. Being sold "AS IS." *Thank You For Looking* !!!God Bless The USA!!! |

Mitsubishi Concept G4 leaves us feeling blue
Sat, 20 Apr 2013To say we were unimpressed by the 2014 Mitsubishi Mirage that debuted in New York earlier this year would be one heck of an understatement. So pardon us for not oohing and aahing over the Concept G4 that we're seeing for the first time here in Shanghai. It is, basically, a Mirage sedan. Try to contain your excitement.
Mitsubishi states that it intends to roll out the production version of the G4 Concept globally, powered by a 1.2-liter MIVEC engine mated to a continuously variable transmission that should at least be good for some substantial fuel economy gains. The Mirage, after all, is rated at 37/44 miles per gallon city/highway. We're also told that the car will be very lightweight, and that this should aid in making this thing not drive like a total dud.
We'll wait and see how the relatively sharp lines of the concept transfer to production form, but given that we already know what the Mirage looks like, we have a pretty good feeling that we'll be just as underwhelmed the second time around. Have a look below for the press blast.
James May was hospitalized after Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution crash
Tue, Aug 16 2022British auto journalist and TV host James May was reportedly whisked to the hospital after a crash during filming of The Grand Tour. The presenter was said to have been driving a yellow Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VIII at 75 mph when he crashed into a tunnel wall. Fortunately, The Sun reports that May, 59, broke a rib during the crash and required x-rays and a brain scan before being released from the hospital in mostly good health. This was not always the case with the former BBC Top Gear hosts. Famously, Richard Hammond received severe injuries from a 2006 crash at 280 mph in a drag racer. Hammond was also involved in a fiery crash of a Rimac One in 2017, but walked away mostly uninjured. The details of the crash are a bit vague, but apparently it involved a challenge where May was supposed to drive the Evo down a long tunnel at a naval base in Norway. The Sun describes the stunt as taking place in the pitch black passage, with lights only illuminating as the car drove by. With mere seconds to react, May was unable to brake in time from 75 mph and slammed the Evo into a wall. This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings. The segment apparently involved May, Hammond, and Jeremy Clarkson taking AWD sedans to the Arctic Circle. Two other cars have been posted to social media by Clarkson himself and by fans, as discovered by Motor 1. Those cars are a Subaru Impreza WRX STI and an Audi RS4. After the Evo's destruction, the Subaru and Audi continued on without it. The cars were driving in Norway six months ago, but May's hospitalization is only now coming to light. Thankfully Captain Slow, as May is nicknamed, is alright. As for the state of the increasingly endangered Evo, however, we'll just have to wait until the next season of Grand Tour airs.
Chrysler de Mexico to sell rebadged Mitsubishi model in shades of Colt deal
Wed, 02 Jul 2014Chrysler and Mitsubishi have had a close relationship since the early '70s. Back then, they partnered up to sell the Japanese brand's models under American names as captive imports in the US. Vehicles like the Dodge Colt, Eagle Summit, and eventually the 3000GT/Stealth twins and lots of other cars and trucks became the fruits of that alliance. In fact, the two companies still maintain a good rapport, as evidenced by reports of a new deal to sell the Mitsubishi Attrage, also known the Mirage G4, in Mexico starting in November.
The Attrage is a small, four-door sedan that borrows many of the mechanical bits from the Mitsubishi Mirage hatchback. According to Automotive News, the deal allows Chrysler to sell the model in Mexico for the next five years. The deal could be a win-win for both companies. Mitsubishi gets to use more capacity at its Laem Chabang, Thailand factory where the car is made, and Chrysler gets a new vehicle for a growing market with almost zero development costs. At this time, there's no indication of the new model's name in Mexico, though.
There's also still a chance the Attrage might make it to the US market as well. The automaker showed off the sedan as the Mirage G4 at the 2014 Montreal Motor Show ahead of promised sales in small-car-friendly Canada. The Mirage hatchback was introduced to the US in a similar way, debuting in Canada first and then crossing the border. While reviews for the Mirage have been pretty atrocious, it would still be interesting to see Mitsubishi further expanding its lineup in North America.
