For sale, very clean turbo eclipse. Car has low miles, under 100k. I bought this car a couple of years ago and it was 100% stock. The car sat for many years since the previous owner couldn't figure out what was wrong with it. Being a mechanic, I purchased the car to fix up. When I received the car I went over everything and determined the ecu was bad. Sure enough, it had leaky caps which was common on these cars. Sent the ecu out to ECMtuning and had it rebuilt. After the computer was fixed the engine ran great, but noticed the trans would scratch 2nd gear. So I replaced the trans with a rebuilt one out of a 91 gst. (stronger trans) Car shifts gears perfectly now. Running Redline MT90 synthetic fluid. The previous owner threw a lot of new parts at this car trying to fix it which only benefitted me. These parts include a new 14b turbo charger and timing belt. After I got the car running happy again I went over the whole car. Car sat so I checked and cleaned the brake calipers, flushed all the fluids, and did a full tune up on the engine. Car has new plugs, wires, fuel filter, cv shafts, and gaskets. I did a couple of easy mods to the car. These include evo 510cc injectors, 2g maf, safc, and prothane motor mounts. For tuning I have an innovate wide band o2 sensor and palm pilot data logger. The engine has zero emissions equipment currently installed, but I still have all the parts. I have also removed the balance shafts since they seem to always fail on Mitsubishi engines. Since I bought this car stock, I have all the original parts that will go with the car. The car has zero issues. Everything works except the ac was deleted. Engine has updated 3g lifters and does not tick. This car does not knock, tick, spit, sputter, or smoke. The engine is original and put down 155psi across the board on a compression test. Also all boost leaks were fixed and turbo spools nicely. Currently the car is running 15 lbs of boost on a very safe tune. I data logged zero knock at a 10.5 afr under full boost. There is a lot of power to be extracted from this pocket rocket. I would drive this car anywhere. Only flaws with the car is: it's 23 years old, so its has some small dingers and rock chips. Paint itself is shiny and not faded. For an Illinois car it is in exceptional condition. Car was rust free when I purchased it. As it sits now it has two very small spots that are only surface rust. These spots are in the pictures and are easily repairable. Otherwise this is a very solid car. Zero rust on the undercarage. Have all receipts for repairs I have made. Also have the factory repair manuals for this car. Interior is in great shape with no tears or major defects. Still has the factory floor mats! Trust that you are buying this car from a mechanic and it runs great.

Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution recalled over clutch woes
Fri, 25 Oct 2013Mitsubishi will be recalling over 10,000 Lancer Evolutions built between December 12, 2007 and March 5, 2013, covering model years 2008 to 2013. The recall only affects cars with manual transmissions, though, so if you opted for a Lancer Evo with a quick-shifting SST, this recall doesn't apply to you.
If you're one of the 10,474 people that has a Lancer Evo X GSR, which is the only way into a manual-trans Evo X, you need to plan a trip to your local dealer. The recall relates to a failure in the clutch master cylinder, making shifting in and out of gear difficult. Consequently, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration reports that this could increase the odds of crashing.
Mitsu will notify owners of the affected cars, and these Evo models will be repaired, free of charge, at dealerships. The recall is slated to begin around November 11. Scroll down for the full bulletin from the NHTSA.
Our best look yet at the 2016 Mitsubishi Outlander
Sat, 08 Nov 2014Mitsubishi's has been busily clawing its way back from the brink of irrelevancy in the US market for several years. One of its most important models in that mission is the Outlander CUV, and as we can see from these spy photos, it's upcoming refresh is coming along nicely.
The Outlander was last redesigned for model year 2014, so it does feel a smidge early for a refresh. That said, thanks to a rather polarizing front fascia, we aren't totally surprised that Mitsu has gone to work so soon. Based on these spy shots, we wouldn't be totally surprised if the new Outlander borrowed the more attractive face of Outlander PHEV Concept-S, which was shown back in September during the Paris Motor Show.
It's impossible to tell if the rear of the car will borrow the huge, vehicle-spanning taillights of the Concept-S, but like the front end, we'd expect a fairly significant change to the back of the new Outlander. Our spies also captured a few shots of the cabin, although we don't see any dramatic differences from the current vehicle, aside from some different trim pieces.
Not a dry eye in the house for last Mitsubishi Evo X video
Fri, Oct 2 2015Say what you will about the Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution; we're going to miss this one when it's gone. Japan's rally car for the street is officially being phased out, and production is ending in Japan. But not before one Final Edition, and a final video showing the turbocharged, all-wheel-drive wonder being built. In Japan, the Final Edition is limited to a run of just 1,000 units. It's based on the GSR model with the five-speed manual transmission, but comes with performance goodies like Bilstein shocks, Eibach springs, Recaro seats, Brembo brakes, and more. See it for yourself in the gallery, below. Over the course of 23 years, there have been 10 generations of the Lancer Evolution. And while Evo X might not be our favorite (this author much prefers Evo IX, for what it's worth), it's still sad to see Mitsubishi's iconic, winged sedan head to the grave. A sign of the times, Mitsubishi says the Evo "will be replaced in spirit" by a high-power, hybrid SUV. That's a tall order, and doesn't seem to make a whole lot of sense, but we'll see. For now, say goodbye to the Evo X by watching the final production video, above. And just be thankful Subaru still makes its lovely WRX STI.
