1993 Mitsubishi 3000gt Base Coupe 2-door 3.0l Only 55,000 Miles! on 2040-cars
Indianapolis, Indiana, United States
I'm selling my 1993 3000GT which I've owned since 1996. I bought this car with about 20,000 miles on it, and have not driven it much. In the last five years, it has probably had five miles put on it. It has 55,000 miles on it right now, very low for a 20 year old car. Car is completely stock other than an aftermarket Pioneer cd player. I have never driven this car in winter but it has been outside. Here's your chance to get a lower mileage 3000GT which hasn't been molested. This car hasn't been driven in years. It will probably need a tuneup or to be looked over before driving daily. It does start, though sometimes it turns over for 20-30 seconds before catching. Once started it will run and can be driven. The check engine light is on. The car nas a new battery. No other work has been done in at least five years. So you can imagine it will need something -- oil change, tuneup, plugs, etc. This car does have some paint loss. The back deck has spots where you're down to a primer. The passenger side mirror also has issues. The top edge of the driver's door has the same problem. This car was not driven in the winter, but the paint in some areas is certainly worn and will need to be addressed. This car had some hail damage in 2006 or 2007 that was fixed, so the roof and some areas do have new paint on them. Front Mitsu star is no longer red, has faded and looks off-white. Paint the back deck and passenger mirror and you'd have a sharp looking car. Car has a tint job that's many years old, it's bubbling in many places. See the pictures. Interior is clean and lightly used. Leather wrapped wheel, shift knob, brake all have age cracking in leather. Car has an aftermarket CD player from the same 1993-95 vintage. Works, but power antenna in back does not raise. Dash has a small crack up front. Vents are loose under windshield. Wipers need replaced. Some light rust on black trim area where wipers sit. Nothing serious. I ran a car with this miles through Kelly Blue Book in fair condition (the worst condition they had) and it said $4600. I know this car will need some work so I'm starting below that. |

Mitsubishi confirms pair of MiEV Evolution II electric racecars for Pikes Peak
Fri, 17 May 2013Preparing for next month's Pikes Peak International Hill Climb, Mitsubishi - the presenting sponsor of this year's PPIHC - has unveiled its entrant for the race: the all-electric MiEV Evolution II. Building off last year's MiEV-inspired entrant, the Evolution II has received numerous improvements, including a more powerful electric drive system, a lower center of gravity and even a more traditional racecar look. Driving a pair of MiEV Evolution II models this year will be Hiroshi Masuoka from Mitsubishi vehicle development and six-time PPIHC motorcycle winner, Greg Tracy.
Both MiEV Evolution II racers employ a quartet of electric motors (last year's car used just three), and output has been increased from 280 kilowatts (375 horsepower) up to 400 KW (536 hp). For improved handling, the cars' lithium-ion battery packs help provide lower centers of gravity, and both Masuoka's and Tracy's cars have received active yaw control, stability control and redesigned anti-lock braking systems. Hopefully, this will help them stick to the mountain better. As previously mentioned, even their look has changed, with less of a wide-body i-MiEV feel and more of a racecar appearance. We think the finished product would actually make for a pretty cool Le Mans Prototype racer, or perhaps an electrically powered rival for trackday cars like those from Radical.
Mitsubishi Geoseek Concepts sport new paint, not much else
Wed, Mar 2 2016While the company may be on life support here in the United States, Mitsubishi still sells cars in a great many markets across the globe. That includes Europe, which is probably why Mitsubishi trotted out a pair of concepts at the 2016 Geneva Motor Show. But as you'll see, calling them concepts is generous. Both vehicles are based on actual production models, the L200 pickup and the ASX (Europe's version of the Outlander Sport), and wear the Geoseek name. Both Geoseek cars are production models that have just been fitted with "tough-look added accessories geared toward outdoor enthusiasts." We can't exactly spot what accessories Mitsu is talking about, though. The most obvious changes are to the grilles, which are mesh. Both the L200 and ASX also get a new underbody skid plate in front. Cosmetic changes include the Pearl Gray paint and orange accents. There's also orange trim in the cabin, although Mitsubishi acknowledges that the interior is mostly black. The L200 does get a rather nifty looking roof rack with integrated lights and handles, while the ASX gets LED fog lights. So yeah, these might be called concepts, but there's really not a lot going on besides the paint and the roof rack on the L200. Still, you can check out both cars at the top of the page. Subprime financing on the rise in new car sales, leasing too
Fri, 07 Dec 2012We all remember the financial crisis that began several years back. At its core was a splurge of subprime lending for housing loans. The housing bubble burst, triggering a collapse of the mortgage-backed securities market. Apparently, those types of loans still exist in the automotive industry, and the market share for these types of "nonprime, subprime, and deep subprime," loans has grown 13.6 percent compared to the third quarter a year ago.
According to an Automotive News report, high-risk lending expanded to 24.8 percent of total loans in Q3, up from 21.9 percent for this time last year. As this level increased, average credit scores of borrowers dropped to 755, down from 763 a year ago. In that time, the average financing amount increased $90 per vehicle, to $25,963.
At 818, Volvo maintains the highest per-owner credit score, while Mitsubishi has the lowest, at 694. The highest rate of borrowers was at Toyota, with 14 percent of the market, followed by Ford with 13.1 percent and Chevrolet at 11.1.
