I am relisting the mini cooper, with some updated information from the previous owner: * I 've done some research on the size of the engine and I discovered is not a 850 cc which is what I previously though, when I bought the car, because this is what previous owner had told me. in actuality it is a 1000cc. I did the search in minimania.com there you can find from the tag on the block and the vin # and the commission No. N20s-228690a it will show you the information. Selling my 1974 Morris Mini Cooper "right hand drive" with 96xxx miles original. with clean IL title. 2003 was the last year mini was register in UK This little mini cooper is in great condition for his age, the mini has no rust, no bubbles on paint whatsoever, all underneath is pretty solid just dirty. Every car show mini has attended he always gets a lot of compliment and in the road a lot of thumbs up. Mini has newer paint job not a 10k paint job but descent. paint is really nice with a little metal flake shines really nice in the sun, The interior has newer carpet also and newer smaller comfy seats than the original because I am 5'11 I needed the room for my height and legs but they fit pretty nice in the car. (also I have the original seats if u want them one of the have few rips) Then engine is a 1000 cc, well take care with good compression runs pretty good for small engine very clean and very economical on "gas" just had the oil changed, sparkplugs. Mini has new clutch master cylinder, new front and rear brake pads. I think that this mini cooper is in better condition compare to many others outhere The heater works fine, all light, brake lights, turn signals in working condition, the door locks and trunk work also. mini has 10 inch cosmic wheels with newer falken tires. I just want be honest with the cons: car has a small dent on the roof barely noticeable, in the dash I guess the previous owner put some tape on it may have few cracks and that's how he fixed it, its black so it doesn't show much, the headliner has minor discoloration from the sun not bad and I noticed leaks minimal oil since the oil was changed I think the bolt was over tight and smash the plastic washer not big deal I just didn't want have the to drain all the oil and replace a washer. car is been sold as is and does not implied any warranty If you have any question feel free to email me. Good luck bidding, I reserve the right to end this auction at any time, selling locally as well. here is couple links of the car on YouTube you have to copy and paste new page. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=strDkAUlAlE . http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_m_CeAhbxu4

2016 Mini Cooper Convertible First Drive
Wed, Jun 1 2016Conventional gearhead wisdom says to go for the biggest, most powerful engine. For the first two generations of Mini Convertible, this was a no-brainer. You bought the Cooper S. But as Senior Editor Alex Kierstein argued in our first drive of the Cooper S soft top, the less-powerful Cooper Convertible has an ace up its sleeve: a highly entertaining, three-cylinder, turbocharged engine. After some time behind the wheel, this two-time Mini Cooper S (hardtop) owner is ready to say the Cooper Convertible is the droptop Mini you should buy, full stop. The Cooper's 1.5-liter turbocharged three-cylinder makes just 134 ponies and 162 pound-feet of torque. That's a 55-horsepower deficit and an extra 1.5 seconds, compared to the Cooper S. But who's clocking a Mini Convertible with a stopwatch? The 8.2 seconds it takes to get to 60 mph is perfectly adequate , and the triple's power delivery is addictive. Peak torque comes in at 1,250 rpm, making for effortless acceleration around town. The engine is positively diesel-like in the way it generates twist below 4,000 rpm, and the way it runs out of steam well before its 6,500-rpm redline. But this isn't annoying. There's more than enough torque to make the Cooper's acceleration sprightly around town. Think about it this way: The Cooper S' 2.0-liter turbo has enough power to rescue you from bad driving. But because of the turbo lag and the wheezy top end, the base Cooper forces you to manage your momentum. In that way, it's not unlike the Mazda MX-5, Toyota GT86/Subaru BRZ, and other so-called "momentum cars," that require drivers to maintain speed for a good corner exit. That, friends, is fun. But some of the car's shortcomings are less fun. We praised the triple's "offbeat, enticing growl" in our first drive, but this is still a three-cylinder engine and it vibrates like one. There's a diesel-like clatter from the direct-injection system on cold starts. And when rolling off the line at part throttle, the triple sends a weird vibration right to our hips. It disappears quickly as the speed increases, but the sensation is consistent enough to be annoying. Aside from the interesting powerplant, the best driving goodies aren't reserved only for the Cooper S. Tick the right boxes, and the regular Cooper can fit the adaptive dampers we raved about on the Cooper S first drive – Dynamic Damper Control is a $500 standalone option or included in the $1,750 Sport Package.
Mini may have overexpanded, some models may not be replaced
Fri, 05 Apr 2013Surprise, surprise. According to Edmunds, Mini may be looking to reduce the number of vehicles in its range, which has recently expanded to include a total of seven offerings (not to mention the copious varieties of configurations found within each line). When Mini relaunched in the early 2000s, it did so with one model, the Cooper Hardtop, and has since added the Convertible, Clubman, Countryman, Coupe, Roadster and Paceman. It looks like those ambitions of expanding the range to include up to 10 models may have been a bit optimistic.
"When we start to replace models, I think you will see that we won't replace every model exactly," Jim McDowell, Vice President of Mini USA, told Edmunds in an interview. The brand's core models right now are the Hardtop and Countryman, and of the roughly 66,200 vehicles that Mini sold in the United States last year, these two vehicles accounted for some 75 percent of total sales.
McDowell declined to mention any specific models that may not be replaced in the lineup's next generation, though our best guess is that ultra-niche vehicles like the Coupe (pictured) or Clubman. As for replacing some of the current models with new products, the only clear gap we can see in the brand's lineup is a smaller car like the Rocketman concept, though we've been told several times that a mini-Mini isn't going to happen. Be sure to let us know what Mini models you'd like to see kept or axed in Comments below.
The Mini John Cooper Works Rally is set for Dakar
Wed, Nov 16 2016In recent years, there have been convincing Minis tailored for rallying: Dakar wins were accumulated with gusto. Now there is a new version for 2017, named the Mini John Cooper Works Rally. Its debut will be the 2017 Dakar Rally running through Bolivia, Paraguay, and Argentina. The new rally car has been built with experience gathered from rallying the earlier Mini All4 Racing, and it's based on the Countryman. Key areas reworked were the aerodynamics and the weight distribution to enable a lower center of gravity. As X-raid (Mini's motorsports partner) CEO Sven Quandt puts it: "The center of gravity has gone down substantially – we placed about 50 kilos [110 pounds] downwards by some 50 centimeters [19.7 inches] in the center of the car, which helps the handling and makes the car much more comfortable over all types of terrain, and aids the handling on a rally track with lots of corners." There is a new chassis frame, and the powertrain benefits from an updated engine mapping and thermal management. The interior has also been redone. Speaking of the powertrain, the Cooper Works Rally runs a 3.0-liter straight six from BMW's turbodiesel portfolio. In this guise, the TwinPower unit produces 340 horsepower at 3,250 rpm and a very respectable 590 lb ft of torque from 1,850 rpm. The retained ALL4 four-wheel-drive system has a six-speed SADEV sequential gearbox, together with lockable, oil-cooled Xtrac diffs with a central SADEV unit. The 2017 Dakar Rally runs from January 2-14. Related Video:
