Light scratches on paint from car washing that can likely be buffed out. Otherwise, the car is in near mint condition. Continental run flat tires have usual wear on them for 8,000 miles but are in good shape and will keep you safe for many more miles."

THE MOST GORGEOUS MINI COUPE ON THE ROAD 35-37 MPG! Lady driven! I hate having to sell my dream car but my company gave me a car and I just don't need two. This Mini is in mint condition with (no accidents) a little over 8,000 miles. The tires are Continental run-flats, the paint is custom and sleek black, no stains, blemishes or smells (non smoker). Black exterior, black leather interior, chrome highlights, fog lights, 6 spd manual with sport mode and traction control. Fun fact:  At night  MINI engages "mood lighting" throughout the cab.  You choose the color; you have to see it!

FULL WARRANTY UNTIL 36,000 OR 2.5 YEARS means you don't even have to pay to change the oil until the warranty expires, as long as you take it to MINI. My favorite thing about the car is the "sport button", which significantly tightens the steering and ups the torque when engaged. When it's not in sport mode you can count on averaging 35-37 mpg on the highway. Custom paint, custom wheels from MINI. The 6spd transmission is a blast.

GREAT VALUE on a high end performance car.  Less expensive and far sexier than a new Chevy Impala!

*Vehicle sold as-is with warranty with around 27,200 miles on warranty or under 2 years, whichever comes first.  Please note:  this vehicle is not a convertible (everyone asks).  It's a 2 seater, not 4 like the regular Cooper models.  MINI likes the good gas, not the cheap kind.   I'm probably going to cry when you buy it.

**I did my very best to portray an honest, accurate picture of the MINI I'm selling and if I missed something I didn't intend to.  Let me know if you have questions.

Mini lineup could expand to include up to 10 models, still no hope for Rocketman

Tue, 12 Feb 2013

During an event in Ponce, Puerto Rico last week where Mini introduced members of the media to the 2013 Paceman and John Cooper Works GP, product planners discussed that the brand's lineup could expand to eventually include up to 10 bodystyles. Currently, the Mini range consists of seven models: the Hardtop, Clubman, Convertible, Countryman, Coupe, Roadster and Paceman.
Speaking to members of the media, David Duncan, Mini USA sales manager, said that these new models could fall into a range of niches - "any segment that makes sense for a small car." No specific vehicle classes were discussed, but Duncan stated that the possibilities are endless, "as long as we're the smallest player in any segment."
Well, nearly endless. We've been hoping that Mini would re-think its decision to nix plans to create a vehicle smaller than the Hardtop - a notion previewed by the excellent Rocketman concept (shown above) from the 2011 Geneva Motor Show - but the automaker once again stated that this is absolutely off the table. In order to create a vehicle of the Rocketman's size, a completely new platform would have to be engineered (that's expensive), and while Mini has looked into acquiring existing architecture from another brand, parent company BMW has reportedly put the kibosh on such an act. If a Rocketman is ever to be born, BMW/Mini will do it on its own, and right now, that simply isn't in the cards.

Mini battling sales slump again, is it becoming cliche?

Tue, 11 Nov 2014

Things aren't looking good for Mini this year. The diminutive BMW brand has shown falling sales every month in 2014 in our By the Numbers wrap-ups. If that weren't bad enough, the latest Cooper Hardtop suffered fuel economy issues upon arriving to the US. First, there was a delay getting some versions certified, and then several models had to have their miles-per-gallon ratings revised.
According to Automotive News, the brand's sales are down about 20 percent for the year through October, despite hitting a record 66,502 vehicles in the US for 2013. For their part, Mini execs attribute much of that drop due to constricted supply. However, with the new-generation three-door Cooper finally on sale and the five-door coming at the end of the year, there might be room to bounce back some in the final months of 2014. "We are starting to claw back our way a little bit. It will be an uphill battle," said David Duncan, vice president of Mini of the Americas, to Automotive News. "We will not get back to where we would be even year over year. It should be a lower decrease than it is so far."
AutoTrader Senior Analyst Michelle Krebs reminds Autoblog that external factors aren't helping the brand's sales either. For one, there's "a direct correlation exists between falling gas prices and lower small car sales," she said, and the average price per gallon is now $2.94, according to the US Energy Information Administration. Also, the booming popularity of small crossovers is eating into the compact car market. Mini has its Countryman model, but the trend could be hurting the rest of its lineup. "Mini was fresh, new, unique and stylish, but fashions change and fashion-conscious buyers are fickle. They move on to the next thing," Krebs said.

Automotive April Fools' joke roundup [w/videos]

Mon, 01 Apr 2013

Happy April, everyone. And we all know what this first day of the month means: April Fools' Day. Today is a national holiday for pranksters with the Internet acting as a serious enabler, and it's always fun to see what kind of vivid imaginations exist out there in the automotive world. The abundance of fake news gets a little old as the day rolls on, but we did manage to get in a few chuckles thanks to a handful of major automakers and automotive news outlets that got into the pranking spirit this year
Some of our favorites this year includes Subaru showing what happens when you combine a bunch of rumors, a Corvette some may have already thought was a joke or Honda providing some in-car innovation circa the late 1980s. Honestly, we're still waiting for official confirmation from Mitsubishi that the recently introduced 2014 Mirage is an elaborate April Fools' joke using a failed design intended for the 1995 Geo Metro. We dug up as much "official" OEM foolishness we could find, as well as some of our other favorites, and posted them all below.
