This listing is for a 2009 Mini Cooper Base 1.6L, this vehicle has approximately 64000 miles.  My wife and I bought this vehicle for our daughter from a seller in Clearwater, Florida on March 2013. Shortly after purchasing the car, I discovered the thermostat on the vehicle had a small leak causing the engine to overheat. The vehicle was towed to the dealership and it was suggested that I replace the engine. I contacted the seller who happens to be a mechanic for Mini of Tampa who agreed to do the headgasket job on the car. The head cylinder was skimmed and head gasket was replaced. The car rode fine until suddenly now I am having a misfiring issue. I have avoided driving the car to avoid further damage. I have not had a diagnostic check done on the vehicle. After the headgasket job was done, I replaced the following: I bought a brand new key and had it programmed. I changed the rear brake pads, I purchased the front ones but I did not install them due the ones on the vehicle have plenty of life left. I will provide the brake pads for the front. All 4 tires are in excellent shape with plenty of  thread on them. The water pump, pipe, and thermostat were replaced with the updated version since this was a known problem with Mini. The coils and spark plugs were replaced. I also purchased a refurbished valvetronic actuator since it was recommended by the dealership. The windows on the car were also tinted. I originally purchased the car for $10,000 but have invested $3000 in repairs. Once the car started to misfire, my wife and I decided to let the car go to someone knowledgeable with vehicle repairs. The car appears to have some cross contamination between the radiator fluid and oil but somehow the radiator reservoir is holding coolant just fine.

The interior of this vehicle is in excellent shape. There are no stains, tears, or rips. The car has never been smoked in.

The roof does need to be painted, overall the car looks in great shape.

The carfax shows there was a minor accident when it belonged to the first owner. I am the 3rd. This car is for sale locally. Please contact me if you have any questions. Buyer is responsible for checking the vehicle prior to purchase. I have disclosed everything wrong with this vehicle. I prefer to have a buyer who is local in the area that can inspect the vehicle prior to purchase. This is a cash transaction.

Mini officially reveals Frozen Black Countryman and Paceman

Sat, 19 Oct 2013

BMW has been offering Frozen editions of its cars for several years now highlighted by matte paint and very limited production, and now Mini is getting in on the game with Frozen Black versions of the Paceman and Countryman. Unlike our report from earlier in the week, these models will not wear the Batman-sounding Black Knight name, but instead, like the BMW models, will be dubbed Frozen Edition. That previous intel also had it that production of the Frozen Edition Minis would be limited to just 60 units. Now official, Mini has not confirmed how many - or few - of these limited edition models it would build.
The Frozen Black paint adds silicates to the lacquer finish creating a "matted impression," which sounds like it should be easier for owners to maintain and wash, although Mini still advises against waxing or polishing. This special paint will be offered on all S, Diesel and John Cooper Works versions of the Paceman and Countryman, though it's not clear as of this writing if any will be offered in the US. Mini's press release for the Frozen Black Paceman and Countryman is posted below.

Mini unveils new, stripped down logo

Wed, Dec 13 2017

Quirky British marque Mini is going with a ... less-than-quirky logo redesign, unveiling a "flat design" that it says is intended to focus on the essentials. It replaces the three-dimensional white-on-black logo that first appeared in 2000. Gone are the three-dimensional style, shading, gray tones and gray-on-black name of the previous version in favor of a stark contrast of black lines and the all-caps Mini name against a white background. It keeps the wings, which first featured on the iconic cars in the early 1960s, according to the Logos History blog, which has a comprehensive collection of logos stretching back to the brand's origins in 1959 under the British Motor Corp. and the Austin and Morris brand names. It also bears a visual similarity to the logo introduced during the mid-'90s. We're not saying the new logo was designed on an old PC using MS Paint, but it looks like it could've been. Parent BMW Group says the new logo combines stylistic elements from the early phases of the classic Mini "with a future-oriented appearance that focuses on the essentials" and a two-dimensional look "allowing universal application." (Meaning, cheaper to produce?) It'll appear on all new Mini models starting in March on the bonnet, the rear, at the center of the steering wheel and on the remote control.Related Video: Image Credit: BMW Group Design/Style MINI Coupe Sedan branding logo bmw group

Supply chain issues force stick-shift out of Mini lineup

Mon, May 2 2022

Mini has temporarily stopped building cars equipped with a manual transmission due to supply chain-related issues. The company decided to prioritize production of automatic vehicles, which outsell stick-shifted models by a wide margin, and the move might be permanent. "Current circumstances, including the war in Ukraine and semiconductor shortages, are causing supply chain restrictions across the global automotive industry. In order to secure maximum production output to meet increasing customer demand, our product offer needs to be simplified," a representative for the BMW-owned firm told British magazine Autocar. Mini added this is the best way to avoid delivery delays. Affected models include the two- and four-door variants of the Hardtop, the Convertible and the front-wheel-drive Cooper S Clubman. This isn't the first time that Mini goes automatic-only; it temporarily stopped importing stick-shifted cars in early 2019 due to calibration-related issues. While the manual quickly made a comeback, whether Mini will resume building cars with three pedals this time around is unclear. Similarly, what effects this decision will have on the American market (beyond the obvious lack of a manual transmission option) remains up in the air. There may be pricing implications. Adding a seven-speed dual-clutch automatic transmission to the 2022 Hardtop Cooper two-door cost $1,500, while the Cooper S model's automatic was priced at $1,750, so it's not unreasonable to assume that pricing will go up. Autoblog has contacted Mini to learn more about this decision, and we'll update this story if we hear back. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party.
