Very good condition 6 speed manual mini cooper s. It also has the very rare john cooper works performance package which ups the 178hp regular mini cooper s to 210hp via a 14% reduction pulley in the supercharger, a top of the line cold air intake and a full exhaust as well as a tune and a few other things. It comes direct from and is installed by mini. It also has the aero kit, which includes a much more sporty front bumper, side skirts, and rear bumper. The interior is fully loaded with all leather heated seats and premium speakers. The interior is in amazing condition with no tears in any seats. It also has a 6 disk cd changer. It has dual sun roofs, steering wheel controls and cruise control. The previous owner also had the PIAA fog lights installed which are a huge plus for night driving. The roof rack isnt included in the price but its available for purchase if you were to want it. The car currently has 89,xxx miles on it. It will go up a bit but its not really my daily driver. A brand new clutch was installed at about 88,000 miles. Since ive taken ownership of the car it has been kept in the garage every night and never had anything other than premium gas. The car has a few very minor paint chips. Right at the end of the side skirts are a few rock chips, the front bumper had some as well but I had that repainted when I bought the car. I still should have a bottle of the correct paint if you were to want to paint the side skirts. Also there are 2 small scratches in the roof.    If you have any questions email me at kylemcrory@yahoo.com.

Mini adding new driver assist systems to future models

Sun, 13 Oct 2013

With all the recent news about automated vehicle technology (from Ford, Nissan and Toyota, among others), Mini is bringing some not-so-groundbreaking tech into its products to better keep the driver connected to the car. Other than stating that these new technologies will roll out in future models, there is no telling when we could see them starting to show up, although our best guess is the 2015 Mini Cooper.
Two of the more notable technologies that Mini will introduce include a head-up display system (shown above) and the "city braking" system to work in conjunction with collision warning and passenger detection. The automated braking system is made possible with the forward-mounted camera, which is also used for adaptive cruise control, auto-dimming headlights and a street sign detection system (to relay speed limit and traffic sign info to the driver). A new parking assist feature helps drivers find a properly sized parking spot, and then drivers can take advantage of the backup camera.
Mini obviously isn't the first to introduce these technologies, but it might be among the first to bring such a large number of advanced safety features into a car priced under $30,000 - though there is no telling how much these options will cost. The automaker has issued a brief press release for its upcoming driver assist systems, which is posted below.

Sorting through the rat's nest that is Mini's model history

Sat, 13 Apr 2013

What do Austin, Morris, British Motor Corporation, British Motor Holdings, British Leyland, Rover Group, and BMW all have in common? Each company has had a hand in bringing the world a sprightly, fuel-efficient, front-wheel-drive fun box on wheels - the Mini.
The Sir Alec Issigonis-designed car has been sold under more brand names and with more model designations than most of us would guess. For seven generations of the classic Mini, from 1959 to 2000, the car carried a bewildering number of model names as well. (Note that's even before BMW took over the nameplate, and starting building cars styled as "MINI" rather than "Mini" in 2001.)
As is its want, Hemmings Daily has taken the time to break down the complex lineage of the car, with a kind of model etymology that makes for a pretty entertaining read. Click over to the site to give it a go; but check out our gallery of classic Mini pictures before you jump.

Hands on with the 2016 Mini Clubman

Sat, Sep 12 2015

When the original Mini Clubman debuted, it was marketed as a bigger, more versatile version of the popular Hardtop. But over the years, the British brand's lineup has grown both in terms of vehicle size and number of models on offer, leaving the original car's formula by the wayside. There are now two five-door models, in the form of the Countryman and Hardtop, both of which offer more versatility than the four-and-a-half-door Clubman ever could. For 2016, Mini has transformed the Clubman, making it once again the brand's most versatile model. To familiarize ourselves with the new six-door model – yes, there really are six doors – ahead of the car's official debut in Frankfurt next week, Mini USA's product planning manager, Patrick McKenna, walked us through both the interior and exterior changes for the brand's newest model. As McKenna tells it, the BMW-owned company has gone to great lengths to make the Clubman more than just a long-wheelbase car with barn doors. There are changes both inside and out that not only serve to better distinguish this new model from the brand's other five-doors, but from anything else in Mini's lineup. Check out our chat with McKenna at the top of the page, and stay tuned for more Clubman news next week.
