Beautiful 2005 MINI Cooper S Convertible with an 6-speed automatic. The car has ONLY 46,052 miles on it! The car comes with an Century Vehicle Service Agreement (Warranty). It is good until August 2014 or 60,000 miles, and covers Powertrain, and Electrical parts, Towing reimbursement, and rental reimbursement. There is a $50 transfer fee and an $100 deductible when you have work done to it. This was purchased for $2000! The car also has a service plan that covers Tire and wheel protection, Windshield Repair, Paint-less Dent repair, and Key/Remote replacement through August 2015. The car has the hard to find, 6-speed automatic with paddle shifters.

This is highly optioned MINI and includes COLD WEATHER PKG (heated seats, mirrors, and washer jets), Premium Package (Multi-Function Steering Wheel, Harmon Kardon Audio, Automatic Climate Control, etc), Sport Package (Xenon Headlights, Fog Lights, 17 inch Wheels, Sport Suspension, etc), iPod adapter, Rear Parking Sensors, and more! The car is in great shape and runs perfect. The tires have only a few thousand miles on them and the rims are in great shape, except for one with minor rash. The interior is near perfect, with minor ware. The body is also in great shape with the exception of a VERY small dent on the left rear, scratch and nicks on edge of drivers door, and a few minor nicks on the back bumper. It is an used car and I consider these things minor. I try to represent the car the best I can, but I am sure I could have missed something, and as I said this is a used car. If you have any questions, please feel free to contact me. The car is for sale locally, so I have the right to end the auction at anytime. Thanks for looking!

Mini Art Beat is a loud, driving social media billboard

Sat, 10 Aug 2013

Video billboards are nothing new, but a video on a moving car that's blaring music? Now that's something that will catch your attention - especially if you're driving alongside it in the streets of London.
That's the exact intent of Mini's new Art Beat, a Cooper Countryman turned marketing device that is custom-fitted with a staggering 48,000 LEDs. On its nightly drives through the city, the compact crossover showcases brightly colored videos, graphics and animations contributed by people around the world via social media. The Mini Space Blog describes the Art Beat as the "most vibrant and customizable NOT NORMAL ride you'll ever lay eyes on."

Judge to approve settlement of Mini CVT lawsuits

Sun, 25 Aug 2013

BMW has agreed to settle a number of class-action lawsuits out of court. The suits stem from drivetrain issues on the 2001 to 2006 R50 Mini Cooper - in particular, its continuously variable transmission. The transmission was known to fail, often without warning on otherwise healthy and well-maintained vehicles. This wasn't the only major issue to afflict the original BMW-era Mini models.
According to legal site Topclassactions.com, the suits alleged that BMW knowingly hid the defects in the CVT from customers while informing dealers of the issue. The first suit was filed in 2011, while four additional suits have followed. Now, BMW has reportedly settled, offering to reimburse 1,200 owners that needed repairs within eight years or 150,000 miles of their purchase. Repair prices for the transmission range from $6,000 to $9,000.
Under the agreement, BMW will also offer up to $4,100 to members of the suit that had fixes performed at a third-party shop, while owners who sold their cars at a loss due to the issues are slated to receive up to $2,000. Finally, owners who are part of the suit will be warrantied for a further eight years and 150,000 miles.

Mini interns turn Paceman into Adventure pickup

Thu, 24 Apr 2014

With coupes and convertibles, hatchbacks and crossovers, Mini has done just about every bodystyle we could think of, and then a few more as concepts. But it hasn't done a pickup. At least it hadn't until now.
What we have here is a Mini Paceman (that, of course, being the coupe version of the Countryman) which has been transformed into a pickup by a group of BMW interns. It's called the Mini Paceman Adventure, and it's currently on display at the Mini dealership in Munich. According to BimmerToday.de, the project involved not only chopping the roof and installing a makeshift pickup bed, but also reinforcing the body, reforming the underbody and B-pillar, fitting off-road tires (including a spare fitted to a roof rack) and a handful of other minor modifications.
The photos are a little sketchy (although the dealership tells us a better set will be available soon), but from what we can see, it looks like a pretty solid project - one that makes us wonder if the apprentices' bosses might be paying attention. Because next to the Mini Coupe with its oddball backwards-hat roof treatment, this one-off looks as sensible as you'd expect from a group of German interns.
