HERE I HAVE AN ABSOLUTE GEM, STARTING ITS LIFE WITH ME AS A SILLY DRUNKEN "I BET I CAN MAKE THAT NICE AGAIN" BET.
THIS LITTLE MINI RITZ CAME TO ME WITH A DENT ON ONE SIDE A BROKEN ENGINE AND A ROTTEN SILL AT A COST OF lb780. I TOLD YOU I WAS DRUNK!!!
THEN OFF I GO AGAIN AS MY WIFE CALLS IT "ON ONE OF MY CRUSADES". STRIPPED BARE ONLY TO FIND SHE WASN'T THAT ROUGH, SHE'D BEEN WELDED BEFORE BUT ALL SHE NEEDED WAS A SILL ON THE N/S AND A PATCH BY THE SAME SIDE 'A' PANEL,
THEN IT CAME TO ME LIKE A BOLT OF LIGHT!! LETS MAKE HER REALLY NICE!!
OK HERE WE GO:
NEW SHAFTS, CV'S , BALL JOINTS, STEERING RACK, CALIPERS AND REAR BRAKES REBUILT, NEW LCB EXAUST, REBUILT ENGINE, NEW POLYBUSHES EVERYWHERE FRONT TO BACK, QUICK RELEASE ENGINE MOUNTS, LOADS OF FLATTING AND A COAT OF 2 1/2 LTRS OF ORIGINAL SILVER LEAF AND THEN 2 LTRS OF LACQUER!! SHE FLEW THROUGH THE MOT AND HAS PROOF FROM PREVIOUS MOT CERTIFICATES OF ONLY COVERING UNDER 5K MILES SINCE 2007.
That's what the previous owner wrote when I bought the Mini from him in UK and shipped her to the USA. The year is 1985. Ebay database is wrong. 65000miles She could do with a new set of carpets - (I think paint has spilled on passenger side front mats), but apart from that drives really well and uses no oil. Gets queues whenever I park and she must be one of the most photographed car in New Orleans! Clear US (Louisiana) Title. Sunroof is a nice addition (It doesn't leak either) 1000cc engine so has a bit of poke too. Gear shift nice and easy too. No strange noises, creaks or groans, and no oil drips anywhere either! All in all a very nice Mini with a few slight blemishes in finish, thousands of miles left in her. Alloy 12" wheels with good Yokohama tires all round. Everything works, glass all good, windows wind up and down. A really nice Mini which can only increase in value. Thanks for looking - if there is anything I can help with, please ask, and good luck bidding on this pretty little car. Remember - this is an auction so it is sold as seen with no warranties implied. Your bid is an offer to buy and the winning bidder will be expected to complete the sale. Enjoy!

Mini officially reveals Frozen Black Countryman and Paceman
Sat, 19 Oct 2013BMW has been offering Frozen editions of its cars for several years now highlighted by matte paint and very limited production, and now Mini is getting in on the game with Frozen Black versions of the Paceman and Countryman. Unlike our report from earlier in the week, these models will not wear the Batman-sounding Black Knight name, but instead, like the BMW models, will be dubbed Frozen Edition. That previous intel also had it that production of the Frozen Edition Minis would be limited to just 60 units. Now official, Mini has not confirmed how many - or few - of these limited edition models it would build.
The Frozen Black paint adds silicates to the lacquer finish creating a "matted impression," which sounds like it should be easier for owners to maintain and wash, although Mini still advises against waxing or polishing. This special paint will be offered on all S, Diesel and John Cooper Works versions of the Paceman and Countryman, though it's not clear as of this writing if any will be offered in the US. Mini's press release for the Frozen Black Paceman and Countryman is posted below.
New Mini Cooper only just now being delivered due to EPA certification
Mon, 06 Oct 2014The Mini brand and its products have typically been a runaway success for BMW, but sales of the retro hatchback dropped a drastic 20.5 percent last month, and have been doing such pretty much all year.
The reason, according to Jalopnik, is that the new model has been held up due to EPA certification. Mini told our compatriots, "Sales have dropped because our supply has been so limited. MY 2015 Mini Hardtops have also not been able to go on sale pending the final results of federal fuel economy certification."
Mini goes on to clarify that "as of October 1st, three out of the four 2015 Mini Hardtop 2 door models, the Cooper with manual transmission, the Cooper with automatic transmission, and the Cooper S with manual transmission, have been released for retail sales and deliveries."
2023 Mini Countryman caught in the wild in new spy photos
Thu, Oct 28 2021The redesigned Mini Countryman has been spotted testing in the wild. Expected to debut for the 2023 model year, this redesign is expected to produce a more future-proof SUV that may not be quite so "mini" anymore. Yep, it looks big, and our spies said that impression carries over to real life. The next Countryman will again ride on a derivative of BMW's FAAR architecture dubbed UKL1, also shared with Land Rover. This is the same platform that underpins BMW's front-wheel-drive based X1 and X2 crossovers, and it will give the Countryman room for more people, more cargo and, most important, more tech -- powertrain tech, to be specific. This electrification-friendly platform should mean more-advanced hybridization and likely an all-electric model for the next-gen Countryman, building on the existing car's plug-in hybrid offering, which already gets a reasonably decent 18 miles on all-electric power, care of a 9.6-kWh battery. That's already 50% more than what the PHEV model launched with, so temper your expectations, but further improvement certainly isn't out of the question. This is a far cry from the manual-transmission, all-wheel-drive Cooper super-hatch that debuted a decade ago. Yep, the Countryman nameplate is more than 10 years old now. Can you believe that? We should learn more about the new Mini Countryman sometime in the next year, ahead of what is expected to be a late 2022 or early 2023 launch. That could change, of course, given the current state of the world. Related video: This content is hosted by a third party. To view it, please update your privacy preferences. Manage Settings.
