1970 Classic Mini Turbo 1275cc Manual Rhd on 2040-cars

I bought this car in 2008 with 93,500 miles on the odometer, it currently reads 103,000 miles. We recently had our first child and mini is the least practical vehicle to drive for many reasons.
What you need to know: 1. The engine/transmission had been replaced and upgraded to the MG Metro A+ Turbo engine by the previous owner at a significant cost. Mileage on the engine is unknown. 2. Inspections and test drives are available and encouraged to avoid any surprises. 3. I am a hobbyist and enthusiast. This car has been carefully maintained and used very sparingly and infrequently. 4. I am 5'8", 150lbs and fit in the car with plenty of room to spare. I have met 6'1" mini owners that are able to fit as well. I would say the general guideline is if you are above the 220lb range, you're may not be comfortable in this car. 5. You don't need to have any mechanical interest or ability. New parts are cheap and easily available from the many online retailers in the US and the UK. 6. Insurance will be ridiculously cheap. My classic car insurance is approximately $400 per year with full coverage. The good: 1. Starts every time, has never left me on the side of the road. 2. Surprisingly fast, quirky and a great conversation starter. 3. Carefully maintained with pride over the past 6 years. Strong engine, no grinds or surprises with the transmission. The bad: 1. Drips oil from the transmission seal due to the synthetic oil. I use synthetic oil for the superior engine protection. 2. There is an exhaust leak at the turbo down pipe. 3. Rust is starting to come up through the paint in the rear bumper/valence. No holes in the floors or rust in the trunk though! 4. 2 noticeable dents. One on the driver's door, the other on the roof. 5. Sagging driver's door. Will need a new door hinge. Key specs: 1275cc T3 turbo, 10psi with water/meth injection. 93whp and 115 ft-lb tq at 3900rpm. 4 speed transmission. The car weighs approximately 1300lbs Right hand drive, 2 door, can seat 5 Mechanics (Performance): 1275cc A+ series MG Metro Turbo engine swapped into the mini. Stock metro T3 turbo, .25 AR. Major Maintenance: 4,000 miles ago: Head, Intake and exhaust manifold gaskets replaced brake master and slave cylinders replaced Clutch (along with main seal) replaced Heater core fixed (this car does not have AC) 8,000 miles ago: Radiator, shocks, brake pistons, door locks, battery. Buying & Shipping: The buyer is responsible for all fees associated with shipping and delivery of the car. Sun, Jun 14 2020Mini has played the unusual triple for its 2021 model-year lineup: Design revisions, more equipment, and lower prices on a number of models. Two full-body exterior colors, Emerald Gray Metallic and Melting Silver Metallic, won't make the new year. After a hiatus, the six-speed manual transmission returns on eight trims from the Cooper two-door hardtop to the front-wheel drive Cooper S Clubman. It's a third shifting possibility alongside the seven-speed dual-clutch automatic and the eight-speed Steptronic automatic. The hardtops and convertibles were refreshed for last year, so they'll carry on with that momentum. One feature change comes to the mid-grade Signature Trim, which can add 6.5-inch touchscreen nav and Apple CarPlay, and a digital instrument cluster as options. The top Iconic trim makes the digital cluster standard. The Oxford Edition trim holds the line at $19,750 before an $850 destination fee, for a total of $20,600, same as 2020. Mini's made the Oxford available to everyone, not only the recent students and military personnel that began as the exclusive buyer base. Not only are there no price increases among the hardtop and convertible ranges, seven models get $1,000 price reductions. Pricing for 2021 and the difference compared to 2020 is: Hardtop 2 Door Oxford Edition: $20,600 (No change) Cooper: $23,250 ($1,000 lower) Cooper S: $27,250 ($1,000 lower) Cooper SE: $30,750 (No change) John Cooper Works: $33,250 ($1,000 lower) John Cooper Works GP: $45,750 Hardtop 4 Door Oxford Edition: $21,600 (No change) Cooper: $24,250 ($1,000 lower) Cooper S: $28,250 ($1,000 lower) Convertible Cooper: $28,250 ($1,000 lower) Cooper S: $32,250 ($1,000 lower) Sidewalk Edition: $39,250 John Cooper Works: $39,250 (No change) The Clubman got a makeover for this year plus a more powerful John Cooper Works Clubman with 301 horsepower. Prices for the 2021 Clubman are: S: $30,750 ($1,000 lower) S ALL4: $33,750 (No change) John Cooper Works ALL4: $40,350 ($100 higher) The big-selling Countryman does almost 40% of U.S. Mini business. Outside come redesigned LED headlights, new Union Jack taillights, LED fog lights on the base Cooper and Cooper S, and piano black trim in places like the light frames and door handles.
Upcoming Mini 5-door hatch spied in the snow
Mon, 17 Feb 2014We are about to get a flood of new Mini models now that the new 2014 model is officially out. In just the past few months, we've seen spy shots of the next-generation John Cooper Works and so-called Traveler crossover, and here we have the upcoming five-door hatchback in Cooper S form, a model that, like the Traveler, is expected to effectively obviate the need for the slow-selling Clubman.
Mini is not exactly hiding that this is a new five-door model, even with its camouflage - the rear door line and handle are clear as day. Also, compared to the three-door Cooper Hardtop, there appears to be an added pillar and additional length at the rear. The hatch also appears to be mounted at a steeper angle than the standard Mini. Also, you have to admit that the Mickey-Mouse-ear fog lights are cute, even if Mini would never actually sell it that way.
Expect to see even more variants soon, if BMW and Mini want to reach their goal of selling over a million front-wheel drive vehicles - an earlier report indicated there could be as many as 23 front-wheel drive cars from the brands in the coming years.
