Up for sale is a 2002 Mercury Villager Estate Mini-Van/Wagon. This mini van/wagon is for parts or repair only. The transmission went out on the van and it has some smog issues so that's why it's being sold for parts or repair only. The motor starts up good and has no issues with the motor's functionality. There is a hose, behind the motor, close to the firewall, that is leaking and needs to be replaced. There are some sensors that need to be replaced so that the van will pass smog. The van is registered but it doesn't have the 2014 sticker as it hasn't passed smog and registration is due next month. The tires are about a year and a half old and are still in good shape, about 3/4 tread on them. The battery is new, this year. The interior is in ok shape, not the greatest. The body is in ok decent shape, except where someone side swiped the passenger side of the van. The tranny went out when we were driving the van. It has tranny fluid so we don't know what happened. The van has 137,000 miles on it. We have had the van since 2005 and it's been a great van. We have never had any major problems with it other than this. I would fix it but I've been out of work for quite a while and I just can't afford it. This is a local pick up auction only. You will have to have it towed to your location as It does not drive and you will need a tow truck or tow hitch to do this and I will not have it towed for you because once you buy it, it's your responsibility. If you don't understand this, please don't bid. If your looking for a motor, tires, body parts, then here it is. I prefer cash on this auction as eBay is going to take alot from me in fees. More than 800,000 Fords recalled for faulty Takata airbags

The Basics: Ford is recalling about 816,000 Ford, Lincoln, and Mercury vehicles built in the US for faulty passenger-side Takata airbags. The affected vehicles were all built in North America, with 654,695 recalled vehicles in the US and 161,174 vehicles in Canada. A wide variety of cars, trucks, and SUVs are affected. This is a planned expansion of an earlier recall. 2005-09 and 2012 Ford Mustang 2005-06 Ford GT 2006-09 and 2012 Ford Fusion 2007-09 Ford Ranger 2007-09 Ford Edge 2006-09 and 2012 Lincoln Zephyr and Lincoln MKZ 2007-09 Lincoln MKX 2006-09 Mercury Milan The Problem: Like every other Takata recall, the problem rests with faulty airbags that can potentially expel shrapnel, injuring or killing vehicle occupants. Millions of vehicles from dozens of automakers are affected, so don't think that Ford is alone on this one. Injuries/Deaths: Ford stated in a press release that there have been no injuries or death linked to the vehicles in this recall. All in all, 11 deaths and 180 injuries across a variety of automakers have been linked to these Takata airbags. The fix: Ford will contact owners soon, and the affected vehicles will have their airbags replaced by a dealer at no additional charge. If you own one: Wait for contact from Ford, then head to the dealer to get a replacement. Curtain officially comes down on Mercury as dealers remove signage

The process of shutting down the Mercury is complete. Ford officially made the decision to close its mid-level brand in June of 2010. In the months that followed, Ford offered its dealers money to stop selling the cars, with production shutting down in September. The last Mercury, a Mariner, rolled off the assembly line in the beginning of October and former spokesperson Jill Wagner said her good-byes to both the car and her job. Now the last piece of the brand has come down as dealers are removing any and all Mercury signage from their lots.

Ford Recalling 70k Escape and Mariner Hybrids for cooling issue

Ford is recalling about 70,209 examples of the 2005-2008 Ford Escape Hybrid and the 2006-2008 Mercury Mariner Hybrid because the cooling pumps for their hybrid systems could fail.
According to the company's defect notice, it's possible for the original "Motor Electronics Coolant (MEC) Pump" to wear out and fail, which would could cause the hybrid system to overheat. If this happens, the vehicle goes into a safety mode that takes away most or all of its power. However, braking and steering still operate normally. After cooling down, the affected models restart normally. The company says that it's not aware of any accidents or injuries related to this problem.
Ford will begin repairing the vehicles in late October, and dealers will be installing improved, brushless pumps on the affected models at no charge to owners. If drivers had their pumps fail before this recall, they can contact Ford for a possible reimbursement.
