It's a 4 door. It has electric locks. Good heater and air conditioner. The seats are in good condition. The paint's in good condition. The roomy interior is in fair shape. V8 engine. 3 tires and the spare in good condition. Large trunk. In good condition considering it's age. It only has 155661 miles on it.
The windshield has a crack across it. The interior of the driver's door needs to be re clipped and the interior handle of the door has been replaced by a cord. Headlights are slightly fogged but very functional. The fender is slightly crumpled where it meets the driver's door - due to when my ball joint went out this last summer. Ball joint was replaced. The engine recently started running hot and losing power on hills. It probably won't pass an emissions test. I know a cheap and honest mechanic that could fix all this but since the car doesn't meet my needs, I've chosen to sell it and save up for a car that does. I'll be happy to refer anyone to this mechanic. I can also refer anyone to a place that sells good used tires.

I've owned it since 2007. It had less then 100,000 miles on it when I bought it. I bought it from Butterfields Used Cars in Sandy, UT. It's comfortable sturdy car but it really doesn't meet my needs and since I have a job I can walk to, I'm going to do without a car for a couple of months. It's not in pristine shape but it's in fairly good shape for as old as it is.
This could be a good first car for a teenager.

NHTSA investigating 725k Ford, Mercury vehicles for stalling issue

Owners of Ford Escape, Mercury Mariner, Ford Fusion and Mercury Milan models, listen up. According to a report on Automotive News, the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened an investigation into these four vehicles totaling an estimated 725,000 units. The investigation appears to center around a malfunctioning throttle body on non-hybrid models of the 2005-2012 Escape and 2011-2012 Fusion. With Mercury dying off after the 2011 model year, this probe will also apply to the 2005 through 2011 Mariner and the 2011 Milan. There has been some discussion around the Escape stalling issue for some time now, but this investigation appears to be larger in scope than before.
Though not a recall yet, NHTSA's Office of Defects Investigation (ODI) has received 123 complaints of stalling or surging vehicles, while Ford itself has logged 1,472 complaints. The investigation report, which is posted below, seems to indicate that a faulty circuit board for the throttle body could cause the vehicle to go into limp mode, which, according to NHTSA, could cause complaints of both stalling and surging.

When Ford came up with a not-so-sporty version of the Pinto and slapped Mustang badges on it in 1974, that was a low point for the Mustang name. When Chrysler applied the venerable Town & Country name on perfectly functional but unglamorous minivans, it saddened many of us. But perhaps the biggest demotion for a once-proud model came when, in 1988, General Motors imported a misery-enhancing Daewoo from Korea and called it the Pontiac LeMans. The original Pontiac LeMans was a great-looking midsize car with fairly advanced (for the time) suspension design and engine options including potent V8s and a screaming overhead-cam straight-six. The Daewoo-based Pontiac LeMans was a cramped, shoddy hooptie that served only to ruin the LeMans name forever, while stealing sales from the Suzuki-based Chevrolet Sprint. Sure, using the once-respected Monterey name on the Mercurized Ford Freestar was bad, but Mercury didn't have long to live at that point. NHTSA closes rollaway investigation into 1.56M Ford SUVs

It's taken four years of study, but the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has finally closed the books on its investigation into rollaway accusations surrounding 1.56-million Ford SUV models.
The probe, which centered on the 2002-2005 Ford Explorer, 2002-2005 Mercury Mountaineer and 2003-2005 Lincoln Aviator, ends without the federal agency calling for a recall. According to The Detroit News, the investigation was closed due to a "low number of complaints" - NHTSA documented 180 such complaints that resulted in 14 crashes and six minor injuries, but the number of incidents have been slowing. The suspected defect rate for the trucks' automatic transmissions was found to be 4.4 per 100,000 units, and the brake-shift interlock mechanism failure rate was judged to be even lower at 3.4 per 100k.
