All parts i'm going to list will be 1yr old this July 2013...Michelin Defender tires,upper/lower control arms,upper/lower ball joints, stabilizer links, struts, strut rod bushings, and all other front bushings, rear shocks and the day i had the tires mounted i had a 4 wheel alignment done too.Rear wheel independent suspension, this car drives like it's on rails. All parts were done by an ASE certified mechanic and i have all the receipts. After market stereo JVC professionally installed, with 2-10" in the trunk and an amp.It sounds great.I have the working original stereo (tape deck) if you wanted it factory again and a K&N cold air intake but like the stereo i have the original air box to restore back to factory original. This 97 is the last yr of the full size cougar, almost rust free at 16yrs old,the frame is super solid i think this car had to be originally from the south.Because i bought it in NY and we all know NY likes lots of salty winters.Well it was either garage kept and never driven, but it's truly a beautiful old 90's era car.SOHC 4.6 V-8 still has lots of life and power, runs flawlessly. If you would like any pictures of anything let me know while it's daylight so i can get them to you asap.My camera is junk so please the pictures, ehh they aren't that great.I take better care of this car than i do myself,it's properly maintained.Ask anything...

Fitting Retirement: Grand Marquis last Mercury off the line
Wed, 05 Jan 2011The signs have come down and retail production ended back in October of 2010. Now, the very last Mercury model has rolled off the assembly line. This last Mercury somewhat fittingly takes the form of a Grand Marquis reporting for fleet duty. It was built at the St. Thomas plant in Ontario, Canada, which is the same facility that continues to produce the Ford Crown Victoria and Lincoln Town Car for fleet and livery duty.
St. Thomas' days are numbered, however, as the factory is slated to close on August 31. When it goes, the Panther platform is likely to follow. So long, and thanks for all the fish memories.

Preposed class-action lawsuit targets 'defective' MyFord Touch
Tue, 16 Jul 2013A national law firm, Hagens Berman Sobol Shapiro LLP, has filed a proposed class action lawsuit whose presupposition is that MyFord Touch is defective. Specifically, the complaint states that the system - as well as the MyLincoln Touch and MyMercury Touch clones - often freeze, fail to respond to voice or touch commands and have issues connecting to mobile phones.
According to Hagens Berman managing partner Steve Berman, MyFord Touch is a theoretically "brilliant idea" that falls short in actual execution. Said Berman in a press release, "In reality, the system is fundamentally flawed, failing to reliably provide functionality, amounting to an inconvenience at best, and a serious safety issue at worst."
Other MFT issues enumerated within the 41-page filing include problems controlling the window defroster, rear-view camera and navigation system. The suit maintains that Ford is aware of the problem but has yet to submit a workable and acceptable solution to MFT customers. Scroll down if you'd like to read the full press release.
Watch as an out-of-control car demolishes gas pump
Tue, May 2 2017A Baltimore area man was fighting for his life Tuesday after crashing his car into a gas station. According to WBAL, the unidentified 64-year-old lost control of his vehicle for unknown reasons around 4:55 a.m. May 1 in Parkville, Md. The 2007 Mercury Milan careened downhill, ramped over a curb, and smashed full-speed into a gas station pump. The car then flipped and came to rest against one of the station's canopy support pillars. Don Karbowniczek, owner of a service station across the street, told WBAL he was shocked there wasn't more damage. It's also surprising that the car even made it to the pumps, as it had to thread past a coin-op vacuum machine, the station's sign, a utility pole, and a traffic light pole. "It came right through, took some of our bushes out, just trimmed them for us, and how it got through and flip the way it did, I don't know. From what I see on the marks, it had to go airborne and just come down on the pump," Karbowniczek said. Thankfully there was no fire or explosion. Gas pumps have shear valves - safety devices that immediately cut the flow of gasoline when a pump is damaged. The driver was rushed to a hospital with life-threatening injuries, and was in critical condition. Police theorized the driver may have become stricken with a health issue when he lost control.
