1967 Mercury Cougar 4 Speed Great Condition on 2040-cars
Spokane, Washington, United States
|
An original 4 speed car, hard to find a 67 4 speed cougar, they didn't make many. Car is in great condition inside and out. A very nice paint job on it, interior is in perfect shape. Just very minor things wrong with it. Headlights worked last year, this year they don't work by the switch in the car, you have to use the manual switch on the solenoid inside the motor, but they still work that way. I'm sure a easy fix, I just haven't had time to fix it. Sequentials work great. Car drives great. Trunk clean, engine compartment clean. Always stored inside and rarely driven. I am starting this auction much lower than what the car is worth because I am moving and need to sell this car. I payed 13000 for it 4 years ago and have put work into it to make it look as it does. Take advantage of this great deal and Please ask with questions. I offer no warranty on this car, and buyer is responsible for all shipping costs and insurance during shipping. This car is in truly great condition. Please ask with any questions and only bid if you are serious in finishing the transaction. I already had one guy bid on this car and string me along for two weeks then not pay.

eBay Find of the Day: Craterface's '49 Mercury convertible from Grease
Wed, 29 Jan 2014Here is your chance to own your very own piece of greased lightning. Well, not the Greased Lighting, it's actually the black, flamed 1949 Mercury convertible that races against John Travolta in the classic 1978 movie Grease, and it's for auction on eBay Motors.
While it appeared in the film's exciting drag race in a Los Angeles storm drain, the hot rod was reportedly lost until last year, when the seller found it as a shell. He verified that it was the actual car with original builder, Eddie Paul, and sent the car for a complete restoration.
The auction includes original parts like the exhaust tips used in the movie and bent bumper from when it hit Travolta's car in the scene. The restorer recreated the scorpion stickers on the doors, razor hubcaps and license plate. He also installed a 1949 Mercury 255-cubic-inch (4.2-liter), flathead V8 and three-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
Has the Mercury Marauder gotten better with age?
Fri, Oct 23 2015In the early 2000s Mercury desperately wanted to develop some edge for its brand – seemingly stuck between a quasi-premium, quasi-performance space in the Ford Universe. The Marauder is perhaps the most famous of the vehicles that resulted from those efforts, and is rapidly approaching Modern Classic status, today. Effectively a murdered out Grand Marquis with some updated trim pieces – what are company parts bins for, if not raiding? – the Marauder looked convincingly like a bad guy car. The 4.6-liter V8 under its hood that had been breathed on by engineers for a little more power, kicking out 302 horsepower and 318 pound-feet of torque from the factory. Not exactly Ferrari-baiting numbers, but it'd give your local cop's car a run for its money. Being a wild child of the last decade, of course our friends at MotorWeek had it on the program. What better way to test your mean-mugging muscle sedan than with John Davis' tanned and steady hands?
NHTSA and Ford investigating steering issues in Crown Vic, Grand Marquis and Marauder
Fri, 11 Jul 2014There may be more steering woes for the Ford Crown Victoria. The National Highway Traffic Safety Administration has opened a preliminary evaluation into the Crown Vic and Mercury Grand Marquis from the 2004 to 2007 model years and the Mercury Marauder for the 2004 and 2005 model years because the steering shaft can jam. The issue could potentially affect an estimated 500,000 vehicles.
According to the regulator, there is a possibility that the driver's side heat shield for the exhaust manifold can rust, dislodge, and then wedge into the steering shaft. If this occurs, it leads to a situation where the driver can no longer control the car.
NHTSA has received five complaints of this happening, including one alleged case with an injury. In that situation, the car was driving onto the highway, lost control and rolled over. One occupant was hurt in the accident.
