2004 Mercedes SL 55 AMG with 75,815 miles. This vehicle is a weekend car kept waxed, detailed, garaged, not daily driven, never driven in rain. Car is a mechanically sound rocket and has NO issues. Fresh Mobil 1 synthetic oil change done 5/7/13 brand new front rotors and all pads original OEM Mercedes changed 2 months ago. I can't STRESS enough how pristine I keep this vehicle. The paint on the vehicle is in phenomenal shape, no dings, no dents, overall body condition is 9.9 on a scale of 10. Interior of the vehicle is luxurious with tons of gizmos and gadgets also in excellent condition and looks brand new. No cracks, rips, or tears in leather, no wear of any kind. The Convertible top works excellent, air conditioning cool as ice, Bose sound system with sound bar(sounds crisp and amazing with top up or down), aftermarket spoiler, heated seats, keyless entry, keyless start, no check engine lights, flat aux cable included, rubber all weather mercedes floor matts truly my favorite add on over carpet, 6 disc cd changer, wheel locks and key, hyper white LEDS installed interior and exterior. Car is an absolute thrill to drive. This vehicle is adult driven, no accidents, clear title, and tasteful upgrades have been done professionally by M power Houston, Tx and NoriBilt fabrication San Antonio, Tx. The Vossen wheels 20" are brand new only a couple months old and in mint condition no curb rash or cracks whatsoever. Tire tread is about 95% all around(Nitto N3000). Top of the line Madico wincos tint was installed over the Huper Optik to keep heat out for vehicle in the crazy Texas weather. The car has had a TCU tune that allows it to safely bring the Rev limiter a little higher and an ECU tune after all engine work was done to make sure vehicle is running efficiently. Maintenance on the car is no different from any other Mercedes Benz after upgrading the power of the vehicle. The SL 55 is a strong well made vehicle one of the more reliable AMG's out of the SL class. The car was also installed with a K40 integrated radar system, very sleek and picks everything up. The winner of this auction will be very pleased. There are no hidden secrets you will discover after the purchase, which I have personally experienced in buying cars over the internet in the past. If you need additional pictures of the interior or close ups I would be more than happy to email you some. If you are in San Antonio, Tx I encourage you to come by and view the car in person! I have described the vehicle to you accurately and to the best of my ability. If you have any questions shoot me an email and good luck bidding.

Car technology I'm thankful and unthankful for
Mon, Nov 27 2017The past few years have seen a surge of tech features in new vehicles — everything from cloud-based content to semi-autonomous driving. While some of it makes the driving experience better, not all tech is useful or well thought out. Automakers who are adept at drivetrains, ride quality and in-cabin comforts often fail at infotainment interfaces and connectivity. From testing dozens of vehicles each year and in the spirit of gratitude, here are three car tech features I'm thankful — and a trio I could live without. Thanks Connected search: This seems like a no-brainer since everyone already has it on their smartphones, but not all automakers include it in the dashboard and as part of their nav systems. The best ones, such as Toyota Entune, leverage a driver's connected device to search for a range of services and don't charge a subscription or require a separate data plan for the car. I also like how systems like Chrysler Uconnect use Yelp or other apps to find everything from coffee to gas stations and allow searching via voice recognition. Apple CarPlay and Android Auto: It took two of the largest tech companies to get in-dash infotainment right. While they have their disadvantages (you're forced to use Apple Maps with CarPlay, for example), the two smartphone-integration platforms make it easier and safer to use their respective native apps for phoning, messaging, music and more behind the wheel by transferring a familiar UI to the dashboard — with no subscription required. Heated seats and steering wheels: I really appreciate these simple but pleasant features come wintertime. It's easy to get spoiled by bun-warmers on frosty mornings and using a heated steering wheel to warm the cold hands. I recently tested a 2018 Mercedes-Benz E400 Coupe that also had heated armrest that added to a cozy luxury experience. Bonus points for brands like Buick that allow setting seat heaters to turn on when the engine is remotely started. No thanks Automaker infotainment systems: Automakers have probably poured millions into creating their own infotainment systems, with the result largely being frustration on the part of most car owners. And Apple CarPlay and Android Auto coming along to make them obsolete. While some automaker systems, such as Toyota Entune and FCA's Uconnect, are easy and intuitive to use, it seems that high-end systems (I'm looking at you BMW iDrive and Mercedes-Benz COMAND) are the most difficult.
Erebus Motorsport Mercedes E-Class V8 Supercar completes the field [w/videos]
Sat, 23 Feb 2013Ford, Holden and Nissan introduced their V8 Supercar challengers a while back. Erebus Motorport, whose racing program got the green light not even 120 days ago, has finally shown off the Mercedes-Benz E-Class racer that will complete this year's field of entries. The first AMG race car ever to be built outside of Germany, it's an Australian-built tube-frame chassis specced to the series' Car of Tomorrow rules, fitted with body panels that channel the E63 AMG.
Supported by AMG Customer Motorsport, the 5.0-liter engine is provided by HWA in Germany, the racing arm of AMG. Regulations dictate that it have roughly 650 horsepower, a redline between 7,000 and 7,500 rpm and a torque curve that matches the parity baseline set for all cars.
Lee Holdsworth, Tim Slade and Maro Engel will drive the three team cars, each with different sponsors. Their first showing will be at the Clipsal 500 on March 3 in Adelaide, here in the US we'll get to see them in May at the Circuit of the Americas. Check out the videos below of the Erebus car starting up at its launch, and footage of all of this year's cars doing pre-season testing on track together.
