In Very Good Condition & Restored Red 380 Sl — No Reserve!! on 2040-cars

I'm listing this 1981 Mercedes Benz with about 89,000 miles for a nice lady here in Tampa Bay. She's selling because she does not use it, and wants to see it go to a new home. The Benz used to belong to her ex who has passed away. From what I understand he owned it for the past 15 years or so, and was told that he was the second owner. After inspecting the car I believe that this is an accident free vehicle for I did not see any evidence anywhere, but don't know 100% for sure!

From what I was able to appreciate in person, a lot of money was spent on this roadster to make it the way it is now. The paint finish alone is of the high-end kind. The interior is in pretty good shape, and the car's overall finish I think is considerably above average. I drove the car around and it drives very well. It runs straight, brakes are good, and feels solid! The A/C works but it's weak. I would say that all it needs is a recharge, but no guarantees!  Electronically, everything works. I turned all the lights on, and dash lights, etc, but the left turn signal is not working - doesn't blink! This Mercedes comes with its own factory hardtop which is in very good shape also. The soft top is in condition too. It also has a professionally installed powerful stereo system. 

The speedometer works, but the odometer does not. Owner did not know that it was no longer working so I don't know for how long it has been out of commission. However, I included a photo of the title which states that in 2002 it had about 79,000 miles. So, considering that the car was only used on sunny weekend days and not much for the past couple of years, I can fairly conclude that this Benz should not have much more miles than the presently indicated ones on the odometer. It's a shame that her ex-husband is no longer around because I feel that there's a bigger story about all the work done to this Benz!

Other than the above odometer issue and benefiting from a good wash, it's my conclusion that if you are looking for a 380 SL with European lights, then I strongly believe that this one is worth serious consideration. Thanks for looking and don't hesitate to contact me with any questions!

Payment of Balance: The balance is payable to the seller at the time you take possession of the vehicle. Payments can be made by personal check (upon clearance), cashiers checks (upon clearance) bank wire transfers, or good old fashion cash.

Taking Possession of The Vehicle: Our policy is that you take possession of the vehicle and finalize the transaction within 7 days. If you require additional time, please let me know so I can make the arrangements with the seller. Please note, that the Seller has possession of the vehicle, so it'll be picked up at the Seller's address. Although I've examined the title, it's also in the possession of the Seller and will be endorsed when the transaction is finalized.

Out of Town Buyers – Shipping the Vehicle: If you're an out-of-town buyer, full payment must be made prior to shipping.  I'll be glad to assist buyers in making shipping arrangements and I can refer buyers to a trusted transportation company that I personally use, but all costs are buyer's responsibility.

Car History Reports: eBay no longer offers complementary car history reports since I transact such a quantity of sales. So, I leave it to the buyer to pull one if desired.

Warranties & Guarantees: As is customary, the vehicle is being sold “As Is,” and there are No Warranties or Guarantees offered.

Prior Sale of Vehicle:  Keep in mind that I'm listing vehicles for others, and on a very rare occasion it happened that a seller changed his mind during the course of the auction. We ALL act in good faith, but an unforeseen circumstance can arise.... in two years of conducting eBay vehicle auctions and having sold hundreds of vehicles, this kind of thing happened once, but I wanted to mention this VERY REMOTE possibility right up-front.
