This 1974 Mercedes 450SL is in excellent condition. I am the second owner. The original owner purchased it from Auto Stiegler Inc in Encino, Californiaon on 5/11/74. It remained in that family until I purchased it in 2009. Up until 2009 it was in California and it was maintained to the highest level. When I purchased it in 2009, I had it shipped to PA. It has been garage kept its entire life which is very evident. In the 6 years I have owned it, I have had to do very little other than regular maintenance. It has only one issue, the driver side door latch sticks from time to time. The exterior is near perfect and the interior is immaculate. Before my purchase it is obvious that it had been repainted, the interior was redone and it had a new soft top put on. It has all the original books and even has the original first aid kit. Has both hard top and soft top. I will also include the hard top stand and cover. You won't be disappointed. Very low reserve for this caliber and quality classic Mercedes Benz.

Mercedes-Benz says no to price premium on S550 PHEV

The good news? Mercedes-Benz won't be charging any extra for the plug-in hybrid version of the S550 sedan compared to the gas-powered version. The bad news? The gas-powered version is really expensive. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid's pricing will start at a tidy $95,325, the same as the conventional S550, according to Cars Direct. For that price, buyers get a car that delivers 436 horsepower and 479 pound-feet of torque while having the ability to go as far as 18 miles on electric power alone, assuming that the driver in question isn't trying to use all 436 horses. But just in case he or she is, the car can also go from 0 to 60 miles per hour in about five seconds. There's been no word on a fuel-economy rating from the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) but the sedan gets 84 miles per gallon on the more lenient European driving cycle. It's unlikely to anywhere close to that stateside, but some folks still might feel they got their money's worth (ha ha) by adding a plug. The S550 Plug-in Hybrid goes on sale in California later this month. The model was first unveiled at the Frankfurt Auto Show in 2013 and shown off at the Los Angeles Auto Show late last year. Mercedes to market Tesla-powered 2014 B-Class EV in U.S.

Looks like another Tesla Motors investor will be looking to cash in on their connection. Autoweek reports Mercedes-Benz will offer their B-Class in the U.S. with Tesla propulsion.
The magazine says their source at the German automaker confirms plans for a B-Class electric-only vehicle. While Tesla already provides battery packs for the battery-powered Smart ForTwo, the B-Class EV will reportedly have Tesla batteries, motor and other components. U.S. residents should be able to procure one sometime in 2014.
The same Mercedes source says plans for a hybrid B-Class have been postponed for now. Adding a range-extending, gasoline-powered engine to an electric vehicle would put the car into a different class for which rebates and incentives aren't as favorable in the States.
