2007 Mercedes Benz Sl55 Amg on 2040-cars
Houston, Texas, United States

Hi everyone. This is my first time selling on ebay. I am a private seller wanting to sell a very high end vehicle to a discerning class of person. I am not a dealer. I have a 2007 Mercedes Benz SL55 AMG for sale, even though deep down I do not truly want to. I am in the process of purchasing a ranch in the Texas hill country and this is a sensible next step for me. This car was built to impress both visually and physically, and it does. Garage kept its entire life, and never driven in anything but sunshine. All maintenance kept religiously at Mercedes using Mercedes parts. The condition and past upkeep of this car makes the asking price very fair. I purchased this car from the original owner, a friend of mine I've known for a while. The original price he paid was $128,000, but after he was finished buying every upgrade he could., he spent over $148,000. It has been driven rarely, only on sunny days, and has always been kept in a climate controlled garage. Although it can move, this car is truly about luxury. The ride is very smooth and the feel transferred through the steering wheel is very controlled and certain. The suspension was meant to handle, and it does so very well, without a 'sport's car trade-off' found with comparable vehicles. The interior almost seems to embrace you softly while driving but not so much to where you feel like you're in a race car. There are several modes for the transmission- normal, winter, and manual so no matter the surface, it grips the road. It features: 19" Chrome wheels, Premium Leather Seating, Sport Steering Wheel, Aluminum Interior Trim, 10-speaker audio system, Silver-face AMG instruments with red needles, Leather power bucket seats with great torso bolstering, Distronic auto-distancing cruise control so you don't have to constantly be 'coasting' with a button because of varying speeds of cars around you, Parktronic proximity warning system, and many other features too numerous to list here. The pearl white paint underscores the word luxury, but as it was designed to be, the AMG variant means it can move should you wish to. Here are just a few of the performance features: 510 horsepower at 6100 rpm, 516 pound-feet of torque with a flat curve from 2650 to 4500 rpm. It's the most potent Benz ever offered in North America and also the quickest factory Benz with 0 to 60 in 4.5 seconds, 0 to 100 in 10.9, the quarter-mile in 13 seconds flat at 110 mph. Whether your goal in owning a car is by class or performance, you're covered on both fronts. You are responsible for all transportation and/or delivery charges. The vehicle is sold 'as is', with no warranty available from me, but you can buy aftermarket ones found online or elsewhere. I'm happy to field any questions you might have. Please let me know. Local interested parties in the Houston, TX. area are welcome to view it at a mutually agreed upon location (whether permitting). Just give me a call to set that up...281.413.5614. I intend to remove my license plates and registration stickers upon sale completion. Upon selecting to buy now, you will need to contact me personally within 48 hours and also make a non-refundable deposit of $500.00 in my PAYPAL account within that time frame as well. After that, remaining balance will need to be paid to me within 7 days with one of the following:
...and must clear my bank before I will release the title/vehicle. Any, 'my father is a Prince from Narutu in exile and I want to buy this car and ship to him for his birthday' scam'ers need not waste your time. Obviously, by not doing any of the above will result in reporting to Ebay and with negative feedback to help other sellers. Thank you. |

Lewis Hamilton wins British GP, slashes Vettel's lead to 1 point
Sun, Jul 16 2017SILVERSTONE, England - Lewis Hamilton won his home British Grand Prix for the fourth year in a row on Sunday, while a penultimate-lap puncture slashed Sebastian Vettel's championship lead to a single point. The Briton's drive from pole to flag on an overcast afternoon was lonely, uneventful and dominant - in complete contrast to his Ferrari rival's afternoon - with Mercedes teammate Valtteri Bottas finishing 14 seconds behind to secure the one-two. "The support has been incredible this weekend. I am so proud I could do this for you all," said Hamilton, who threw himself into the fans for some crowd surfing after the podium celebrations. "The team were faultless this weekend, Valtteri did an incredible job as well, so it's the perfect weekend for us." Far behind in his wake, as Hamilton cruised to a 57th career win and soaked up the applause from an army of flag-waving fans, came sudden drama. Vettel, who had battled on worn tires but looked like securing the final podium position until the blowout, finished seventh after an emergency pit stop with a shower of sparks from the wheel rim. "There was no sign of that happening," said Vettel over the team radio. "There were vibrations but I had it for 20 laps and it didn't get massively worse. The tires didn't look great but they never look great." The German's Finnish teammate Kimi Raikkonen, who had been second before also being hit with a late puncture that sent Bottas and Vettel ahead of him, took third. At the halfway stage of the 20-race season, Vettel has 177 points to Hamilton's 176 with Bottas on 154. Hungary, a circuit where the Briton has won five times before, is next up. Hamilton became only the third driver, after his late compatriot Jim Clark and Frenchman Alain Prost, to win the British Grand Prix five times and the first to take four successive victories at Silverstone. Clark won four in a row in the 1960s, but one was at Aintree and another at Brands Hatch. Red Bull's Max Verstappen finished fourth, ending a run of retirements, with Australian teammate Daniel Ricciardo fifth after fighting through the field. Germany's Nico Hulkenberg was sixth for Renault and Force India pairing Esteban Ocon and Sergio Perez were eighth and ninth with Brazilian Felipe Massa securing the final point for Williams. Jolyon Palmer's miserable run continued, with Britain's only other driver on the grid failing to make the start after his Renault broke down on the formation lap with a brake failure.
Sunday Drive: Volvo hits a crossover home run, and people still love sports cars
Sun, Sep 24 2017Looking back at the week that just was clearly tells us at least three things. First, crossovers don't have to be boring. Second, people still love sports cars, from the attainable (Audi TT RS) to the fanciful (Mercedes-AMG GT C). And finally, the traditional German trio of premium luxury brands had better not rest on their laurels, because credible challengers are coming in from every direction. The biggest reveal of the week, at least judging by the interest of Autoblog readers, was the Volvo XC40. Not only is the little 'ute a looker, it introduces some innovative new buying/leasing schemes designed to appeal to an audience accustomed to trading in and trading up every couple of years. Think of Volvo's flat-fee lease as you would a smartphone contract, and you'll be on the right track. Genesis looks to have a hit on its hands in the form of the G70 sport sedan. We took a Korean-spec model for a spin and found a lot to like about the upstart contender. We can't wait to sample one here in the United States to see how it stacks up against the Audi A4, BMW 3 Series, and Mercedes-Benz C-Class. In other news, we're still really excited to see a production Ford Ranger Raptor. But if you just can't wait for the official reveal — it's OK, neither can we — take a look at the renderings in our post down below. As always, tune in to Autoblog next week for a front-row seat to all the happenings worth following in the automotive industry. Petrolicious relives history with Stirling Moss and his Mercedes SLR
Wed, May 13 2015We take it as a given that lap records will keep getting beaten. That's just the way things work: the development of racing cars proceeds at breakneck speeds, dwindling lap times down over the ages. Not at the Mille Miglia, though. The legendary Sir Stirling Moss won the famous Italian race together with journalist Denis Jenkinson in 1955, recording an almost unfathomable average speed of nearly 98 miles per hour in the Mercedes 300 SLR bearing the number 722 – the inspiration behind the extreme SLR McLaren Stirling Moss edition speedster that debuted seven years ago. Nobody (not even Moss himself) managed to beat that time in the subsequent two years before the race was shut down for good. It was only revived decades later as an historic rally that's more about consistency and, by its nature, doesn't put that record in contention. This year's event is coming up soon, so the cinematographical artisans at Petrolicious caught up with Moss and that legendary SLR – perfectly preserved as it has been by Mercedes – for a drive down memory lane.
