I purchased this car last summer and had a considerable amount of work done on it. Mechanically the car is excellent. Approximately 3500 miles since it’s been back on the road, even on the hottest days in Los Angeles traffic the temperature never goes above the middle of the gauge. Would make a great daily driver given it's mechanical condition. No expense spared engine rebuild using the original numbers matching block, new OEM Mercedes parts used where available, excellent condition refurbished parts used when new parts not available. - Correct cylinder head fully rebuilt, replaced rocker arms, valve guides, head gasket, etc… - Bosch fuel injection pump bench tested, serviced, replaced the choke, diaphragm, filter and thermostat, fuel injectors cleaned and tested - Transmission fully serviced, pressures adjusted, it shifts very well and doesn’t leak Here is a partial list of parts that were replaced during the rebuild: New forged pistons and rings, all bearings, hoses, pipes, head pipes, gaskets, water and cooler lines, timing chain, guides, and tensioners, intermediate gears, chain guides, the oil pump – tachometer gear shaft, oil pump (up rated spec), water pump, thermostat, thermostat hose, thermostat pipe, and thermostat housing. Additionally: -Correct gold colour plating used where needed -Correct diamond pattern firewall pad -Rebuilt brake booster -New brake master cylinder -Radiator and radiator expansion tank professionally cleaned and refinished -All new rubber hoses in the engine bay, new belts, new clamps, new rubber bushings, new air filter canister seal, etc… -New OEM Mercedes white battery -New tires all around including the spare tire, Hunter alignment done From what I know the previous owner had the fuel tank either replaced or refurbished, replaced the fuel pump, and replaced the shocks all around with new Bilstein’s, amongst other work. Interior wise, new German wool square weave carpets were installed as well as Dynamat insulation. Upholstery and headliner are all in good condition Wood console box was refinished by Madera Concepts (in the pictures it isn't mounted, and I have the ashtray it's just not in the pictures). Original clock works, but it’s a bit slow. Original Becker radio was fully restored by Becker Autosound in New Jersey, they installed a hidden auxiliary input in the glove box. New correct size in-dash speaker installed where the original one was. Exterior wise, the car is now dark blue, but was an original green car. I did not have it painted. There are imperfections from driving, but it's very glossy and shows well. The car has the factory paint runs under the hood, the factory spot welds on both original fenders, and it does not appear as though there has ever been collision damage. The soft top is good, no tears and the plastic is very clear. The hard top is in good condition as well, and the headliner is clean with no tears or damage. Comes with the original manual, spare tire cover, tool kit, and jack. Clear California title and registration until July 2014. There are restored Year of Manufacture black plates on the car, not included but if you would like them we can discuss it. Kuhlmeister Air Conditioning was installed but I had it removed when the engine was rebuilt. I can include the pieces if desired, but don't know if the system works or if it's complete as I never tried it. The under dash vent unit is in good condition cosmetically. The car is described to the best of my knowledge, I'm not an expert on W113's and this is the first one I've owned, I make no guarantees about it's condition and the car is sold as is. Inspections are encouraged during the bidding period. Please do not bid if you are not able to complete the transaction. If you have any questions please send me a message and I will respond promptly. Thanks for your interest.

2016 Singapore Grand Prix Race Recap | Setting the stage for the final rounds
Mon, Sep 19 2016The Singapore Grand Prix always features a safety car. This year the nation-state got caution out of the way early: seconds after the lights went out, Toro Rosso's Carlos Sainz collided with Force India's Nico Hulkenberg, sending Hulk into the wall minus a wheel and some bodywork. The safety car led the field for three laps, then ducked into the pits so abruptly that a track marshal was still retrieving debris as race leader Nico Rosberg hit the throttle down the front straight. Rosberg avoided the pedestrian on his way to a two-second lead over Daniel Ricciardo in the Red Bull, Lewis Hamilton in the second Mercedes-AMG Petronas, and Ferrari driver Kimi Raikkonen. On Lap 8 of the 61-lap race Mercedes engineers warned Rosberg and Hamilton about brake management. Rosberg had no trouble until the waning laps of the race, his teammate inadvertently the cause. Raikkonen got ahead of Hamilton on Lap 33 while Hamilton nursed his car. Trying to get Hamilton back in front of the Ferrari, Mercedes pitted Hamilton on Lap 46 and also ordered him to turn his engine up. Ferrari debated for a lap about whether to bring Raikkonen in, finally issuing a last-second order to pit. The Finn emerged behind Hamilton, but executing the trick to get Hamilton back into third gave Ricciardo breathing room in second place. Red Bull brought Ricciardo in on Lap 48 for a set of super soft Pirellis. Returning to the track 25 seconds behind Rosberg, Ricciardo cut from one to four seconds out of that gap on every lap. By Lap 59 the Aussie was little more than a second behind the German. Had the race gone three more laps, Ricciardo might have pulled off the upset. This time Rosberg stayed in front to win his third race in a row and his first victory in Singapore, all in his 200th grand prix. Ricciardo and Hamilton completed the podium; Raikkonen claimed fourth. Sebastian Vettel wrangled an incredible fifth place after starting last; the German set the worst time on the grid when his suspension broke in Q1. Max Verstappen, having lost places at the start due to wheelspin again, recovered for sixth. Fernando Alonso made the most of his McLaren with seventh, ahead of Sergio Perez in the lone remaining Force India, a resurgent Daniil Kvyat in the Toro Rosso, and Kevin Magnussen scoring Renault's second points finish of the season. Hamilton has not had a good time of it since the end of the summer break – engine troubles in Belgium, a botched start in Italy, and zero rhythm in Singapore.
Recharge Wrap-up: Mercedes stationary batteries, 2015 E-Mazing Race
Tue, Jun 2 2015Mercedes-Benz is following Tesla's Powerwall in selling stationary batteries for home, business, and industrial solar energy storage. The lithium-ion batteries will come in 2.5- and 5.9-kWh capacities, and can be linked together. Daimler's vehicle battery technology, "has proven to work for millions of driven kilometers in the toughest environments of heat and cold, which makes it the best candidate also for stationary use," says Harald Kroeger of Mercedes-Benz. Pricing is unavailable as of yet, but Mercedes promises "competitive" pricing when the batteries go on sale at the Intersolar trade fair (June 10 through 12) in Munich, Germany. Read more at Automotive News, or in the press release below. The third running of the E-Mazing Race competition for electric vehicles is underway in Canada. The race challenges drivers to earn the most points by charging at Sun Country Highway charging stations in a month. Contestants needn't have been at the official starting point nor cross the finish line; they just needed to sign up and download the race app to participate. More remote charging stations offer more points when charging, and participants can also win prizes for photos and using social media. The 2015 E-Mazing Race, which began May 27 and ends June 24, is meant to raise awareness of electric vehicles. Sun Country is working on expanding its EV charging infrastructure in the US, so don't be surprised to see the race encompassing most of North America in the future. Read more at Green Car Reports. Linde has opened a new hydrogen fueling station in Innsbruck, Austria. The station, located in the popular destination city that has twice hosted the Winter Olympics, will allow hydrogen-powered vehicles to cross the Alps and travel between Italy and Germany. The station is capable of 700-bar refueling and can fuel six cars per hour. It was built as part of the HyFive project to create hydrogen fueling infrastructure across Europe to facilitate the rollout of fuel cell vehicles. It is the second public hydrogen station in Austria. Read more at Green Car Congress, or in the press release below from Linde.
Race Recap: Abu Dhabi GP is reversals, luck, leanness and last dances
Mon, Nov 24 2014We weren't sure if Alter Ego Nico Rosberg, the one who flew into Brazil and showed Mercedes AMG Petronas teammate Lewis Hamilton that he knew also knew how to grab an entire race weekend by the scruff of the neck, arrived in Abu Dhabi. In both Friday practice sessions Hamilton showed Rosberg the way. Then on Saturday, Alter Ego Rosberg took over, taking the last Free Practice session and then pole position by a whopping four-tenths of a second over Hamilton. Thanks to the gimmicky and soon-to-be-obliterated spectre of double points, if Rosberg won the race and Hamilton finished lower than second, the World Championship would remain in German hands. Behind Hamilton came the Williams duo, again, with Valtteri Bottas ahead of Felipe Massa. Daniil Kvyat did swell to put his Toro Rosso in fifth, Jenson Button was just as swell getting his McLaren into sixth. Kimi Raikkonen outqualified his Ferrari teammate Fernando Alonso for the third time this year, the pair taking seventh and eighth on the grid. Kevin Magnussen lined the second McLaren up in ninth, Jean-Eric Vergne making the top ten for Toro Rosso in his last race for the team. To be clear, that was the final grid for race: Daniel Ricciardo and Sebastian Vettel had both qualified in the top ten but were sent to the back of the grid when their Infiniti Red Bull Racing front wings were deemed illegal. They'd start from the pit lane, which was still ahead of Romain Grosjean in the Lotus, who took so many penalties for new engine components that he started the race in Turkey. At lights-out on Sunday, well, it was pretty much lights out. That's when Hamilton got the start of the year, bolting off the line so quickly it didn't take him 100 meters to get in front of Rosberg. The Brit took Turn 1 in the lead, then laid more than a second into the German on the first lap. Rosberg kept close, about 2.5 seconds back, but it was Hamilton's race to lose and everyone knew it; barring a reliability issue or the kind of driving mistake Hamilton hasn't made all year, Britain would have its fourth double world champion. Rosberg was left asking his engineer what kind of strategy they might use to claim first place. That reliability issue did come, but it struck Rosberg on Lap 26 when his entire Energy Recovery System failed, robbing him of 160 horsepower and taxing his brakes.
